How many suitcases can I bring? Its me and 2 DD's and I was planning on bringing 3 (smaller sized) suitcases, 2 for our clothes and one for our toiletries, make up, hairdryer etc... but I found that I have to sit on the suitcases to close them so I borrowed another smaller size suitcase from my mom. what is the limit on how many to bring? Is it 2 per person? We will have 4 checked suitcases and then each of us will have a carryon bag. My kids carry on's will consist of their school books as I am making them do homework on the plane. Thanks
Kim

On most airlines you can check 2 and carryon 1 (within size limits) plus a personal item per person. You will be fine checking 4 with 3 people, you could check up to 6. It's not smart to overstuff bags these days with security. If they have to hand search, it could be a problem getting it back together. I usually check an extra overnight size bag to use to bring stuff back.

Most airlines will allow 2 checked bags per person. However as Debbie mentioned there is size limited to the bags. Also there is a weight limit per bag as well. Check with tour airline for their limits. There is also a total weight limit as well; if you exceed it youw will have to pay for being over weight (luggage that it).

One note of caution, be sure you and your dd's can tote all that stuff around by yourself.

I travel with my dd and we have learned "less is More" LOL.

We always rent a cart in baggage claim, they are $2 or $3. It's an easy way to get the luggage over to the rental car area (we always use National).

I think we should be OK carrying all the luggage. The 2 smaller suitcases have handles and wheels and each of my DD's can take one of those, I can take the two without wheels. Our carry on bags we can carry on our shoulders like a purse. We have a happy limo driver picking us up in baggage claim so I dont think we will have to travel to far with all the luggage. My 11 yr old DD wanted to bring a totally empty suitcase for "all the souveniers" that we would be bringing back. I told her that we werent going to buy that many souveniers. LOL

I have a bag like this and it is fabulous for bringing back all the extra stuff that accumulates on a trip. I use it as a dirty clothes bag and just pack my souvenirs in my more durable luggage.
