With 3-day - Stay on the ship in Nassau?

OK - we've done the 3-day Cruise before. Do other people stay onbaord at Nassau, & not even get off? Our DSs may want to explore, but they won't want to spend their own $$ there - so I doubt they will spend much time there. DH & I were not impressed with Nassau, so enjoying the ship makes more sense. What do others do on Nassau day?

We are going on a 3 day in September and we plan to stay onboard. We have done the 3, 4 and 7 day (Western) and just love the ship so much. We know that on a 3 day cruise we won't have much time onboard so we want a whole day to enjoy the ship.

I would recommend taking a taxi over to Atlantis. Even if you don't gamble the hotel and grounds are beautiful to walk around. It seems like a different world across the bridge. Much nicer than Nassau. I think it is well worth the cost of the taxi. There is also a free beach within walking distance that you could consider using.

Our first DCL Cruise was the 3 night. We were so excited and looking forward to seeing Paradise Island (Atlantis). First, it was horrible trying to get over there. When we got off the ship, a man told us to wait for the taxi and we did for 1/2 hour. We went down by the dock to find the water taxi and were told to go back to the regular ones by the ship, which we did.
Another 1/2 hour or so wait and finally he got enough people to cram into a van to take us there. Then we get hit up for the bridge fare - not much but a surprise.

Atlantis was nice. We walked around for a while, played in the casino then left. Easier to leave than get there. We walked around the markets and finally walked back to the ship in time for lunch and some peace and quiet.

That was Nassau. Our two cents worth....stay on the ship.

We stayed on the ship in the morning & used the pools. It was very quiet. After lunch everything on the ship was much busier!! In the afternoon we walked around town for a little while.

We were on the 3 night cruise last June and stayed on the ship. It wasn't empty, but it wasn't busy, either. It definately seemed that people went ashore first thing and then returned to the ship for lunch and the afternoon -- the ship got much more "full" as the day wore on.
