I do not want to charge my bill to my cc. I know that I can go pay it before it reaches $400. Can you pay that bill with a check? Thanks for the help!

You can pay with a check. From the Disney Cruise Line website:
All charges must be settled before your resort departure and debarkation from the ship by cash, personal check, travelers checks, Disney Dollars, American Express®, MasterCard®, Visa®, or The Disney Credit Card. (Any other expenses are payable on demand.)
Note: Credit card payments are subject to credit clearance, and personal checks must be accompanied by a valid U.S. driver's license and a major credit card.

We like to leave the ship "paid in full" without putting it on a credit card, so last time I brought $1200 (7/day, 2 adults, 2 kids) worth of Traveler's Checks. I went to Guest Services every other day and paid off my account with those, and usually put down an extra $100-$200 depending on what we were doing...I was able to leave the ship paid off, except for about $20 in Shutters pictures that I bought the last night (those automatically went on the credit card I had on file)..BTW...out of $1200, we spend right around $1,000. Have Fun!
