Epcot, other attractions assist Cypress Gardens pass holders

Cypress Gardens pass holders who miss seeing the flowers there this spring have another option: a free visit to the 10th annual International Flower and Garden Festival at Epcot.

The festival began Friday and runs through June 8, featuring more than 30 million blossoms, workshops, demonstrations and music from the 1960s, 1970s and 1980s.

To take advantage of the complimentary one-day admission deal, guests must present a valid Cypress Gardens annual pass at the Epcot guest relations window. The festival is open to regular Epcot guests at the standard admission of $50 plus tax.

A number of other Florida attractions have offered a variety of free or discounted deals to Cypress Gardens pass holders since the Polk County park shut down April 13. Those attractions include: Splendid China, SeaWorld, Busch Gardens, Silver Springs, Weeki Wachee Springs, the Florida Aquarium, Historic Bok Tower Sanctuary and Fantasy of Flight.

So is this a case of lions at the carcass or just "brothers in arms"?

Probably a little of both, but either way it's a win-win for everyone.

I'd say it is more lions than brothers. Afterall, if those displaced CG guests are going to go somewhere, why shouldn't the other area players try and make it their park? As you guys point out, other than for the now defunct CG, it's a win for everyone.
