Air miles and upgrading??

We are flying out with BA this year, and it occurred to me I might be able to use up some of my air miles to upgrade. I have been collecting them for years and have quite a few, but not enough for a return to Florida (which is all I ever visit really). Does anyone know how many miles would be needed to upgrade from Economy to...well, whatever BAs equivalent to Premium Economy is!!. It would only be for the outbound journey. Thanks!

BA don't run World Traveller Plus on the Orlando route but I believe they do on the Tampa and Miami route.

At the moment you can't use miles for an upgrade but BA Executive Club are changing this to keep in line with other airline frequent flyers clubs. We just had an announcement of the date of all the new changes come through recently but Paul's gone and thrown it away.

I can tell you that using all of your miles to pay for Club World seats to Orlando costs 100,000 BA miles per person.

That's interesting. The DH and I are both BA Exective Club members and neither of us have received any notification like this!

It was an A4 8 page pamphlet - I'm sorry to hear you didn't get one, if you ring them up I'm sure they'll check on it for you. It may well have been just an ad-hoc mailer. BTW all the details are on the BA website if you go into the executive members section.

Paul just told me he did throw it away but he recalls the new "miles for upgrades" comes into effect 1st July.
