I just finalized our booking for our first DVC vacation! We bought at WLV with another 100 points in VB and are going to VB Easter 2002.

Could anyone please help with suggestions as to what VB 2BRs to request and whci to avoid?

Thanks for the help.

Hi, Dan -

Based on advice from members of this board, we're requesting "top floor with DIRECT ocean view". Apparently, unless you specify direct ocean view, you may get a unit with only a partial view of the ocean. Also, I understand that some type of "dune" exists between the condo unit buildings and the ocean, so if you want to see the ocean from your unit, you need to be on a top floor to see. If you have little ones with you, some say the first floor units are wonderful - the little people can play right outside your patio.

We will vist VB for the first time this coming November, so the above is based only on what I've read on other posts. I also understand that VB is a great resort so I'm sure we'll all have a wonderful time even if our room requests aren't granted. .

Enjoy your trip!

There are 18 dedicated 2BR units and 36 1BR/studio units. We made the mistake of booking a 2BR last year at VB and received a "dedicated 2BR". All dedicated 2BR units are at the back of the building and have an obstructed ocean view. Next time we go we will request a "lock off unit". The lock off units are closer to the front of the unit and have a better ocean view.

So to answer your question. I would request a 1BR studio lock-off and NOT a 2 BR unit for the best possible ocean view. As others have posted also request top floor.

The view is only a small part of the magic and you will have a great time.

Hi,
We just got back from VB and we were in Bldg#14 first floor it was a "lock off". We were on the first floor so no ocean view but we were close to everything.
