Please don't laugh at these questions.

I've just got my first ever speeding ticket (awaiting punishment!) and wanted to know if this will effect:

1 Hiring a car in floirida
2. Visa waiver forms.

Any help appreciated.

hi hubby says that unless you have been to court you shouldnt need to declare it on visa waver form as it particular type of minor offence, but with the insurance they may increase your premiums but check with your travel agent to make sure, hope this helps a bit susie:jester:

Hi

It won't affect you hiring a car. DH picked up a speeding ticket and had his licence endorsed. During the 3 years it was on his licence we hired cars through Dollar and Alamo - nothing was said either time.

We certainly never mentioned it on our visa waiver form.

Both DH & I have had speeding points on our licenses (many, many years ago:p ) and have had no problems :D

We have also had speeding points and again, this didn't affect us hiring a car in a way at all.

Richard. :)

On the first two trips to Florida, I had 3 points on my licence and I had no bother with the car hire. I think you only have to put criminal convictions on the visa application.

You now have to declare any arrests even if they did not result in convictions too!! However, this does not include minor traffic offences I think. There was a thread on this earlier in the year I think, worth a search? And a US Embassy site?:D
