done the Sterling Casino Cruise. My husband and I are considering doing this but I would love to find out more about it. Any suggestions would be great.

Thanks,
Heather

Unless you're a big gambler, I would find something else to do. My family (mom, dad, brother and grandparents- all over 21) went once on a lark (it is free, after all)... Very smokey, a bit cramped, and full of the most desperate-looking people I have ever seen. Some of them seriously looked like they were counting on winning big as a last ditch effort to save the family farm or something. The free sandwiches were about what you could expect of free sandwiches. I'm really not into gambling (I think I won like $8), so I can't speak for everyone, but I would rather spend the afternoon almost anywhere else.

The entertainment was almost the best part. Probably changed by now, but they had a "Hank Williams Jr." and a "Patsy Cline" from the "Legends on Stage" show (used to be standard fare on the now-defunct Premier Cruise Line, and I think they have shows in Vegas and Myrtle Beach, SC). They were both very nice and quite entertaining, but the pianist/lounge singer they had performing between acts was horrible... he claimed to take requests, was quite obnoxious (and, I think a bit drunk)... he must have played "Wastin' Away Again in Margaritaville" about 45 times... I think he only knew about 3 other songs. If we hadn't been a captive audience, it would have been pretty funny...

Thanks for the tip. I really appreciate it. We're not big gamblers. We go to A.C about once a year. Anyone else have any experience with Sterling Casino?

Steve, is there nothing you don't know about that part of the country?

We can always count on you to give us great info here on the DIS :) I appreciate that very much, too.
