Nothing is set in stone yet, but we have a Reds/Astros game both days at 1:15 and several people mentioned Argosy Casino and possibly the first ever SHEP-con...

I still havent gotten any responses about anyone wanting to stay at the casino. I will probably need to make reservations by the end of June in order to get a room.

Just sneaking in.......DH is off that weekend (Friday, too) so we are considering the possibility of driving into Cincy even though it would be about 10 hrs. or so for us. We would at least have all day Sat. available to "play"! Will let you know for sure as we get closer. Did anyone ever get a deal on a place to stay locally??

Oh yeah?? As long as it isn't Motel 6 or something similar, I'm pretty game! I think Dave has been checking out Orbitz, I'll let you know what he comes up with.

How highly allergic are you? We have 2 that can stay in the basement if you come to our house, but if you are highly allergice I am thinking that might not work.

I think those who wanted to go to the game where going to the game and the others where going to hang out at our house or we can figure out something else to do together....maybe a mall or something;)

Amanda, my dear, please don't worry about me!!!! If we can swing this little jaunt, I don't want anybody to put themselves out just to accomodate me. I have medication and as long as I avoid direct contact, I'm usually OK.

Hey, I'm up for just about anything! I was just wondering if there were any specific plans yet. Just sitting around over a pitcher of iced tea or whatever and having a gab fest is OK, by me!! Retail therapy is also good! As long as it isn't sweltering out, Shep's suggestion of the zoo sounds great too. Then again, if it IS sweltering, maybe we should consider Surf Cincinnati??!!!!

I think Surf Cincinnati is closed but there is The Beach waterpark....
I think the Reds game then dinner at Larosa's is what I had planned and if someone wants to go to the casino that's fine...
and we can go back to our place and chat...

We have some nice parks overlooking the Ohio River(Devou--Ky side & Eden Park--Ohio side which is near Krohn's COnservatory which is nice too...:)

OMG!!! How I LOVED Krohn's Conservatory when I was a kid!! We used to go every Easter to see the lilies and every Christmas for the live Nativity. I think my favorite was always the banana tree--when you're growing up in Cincinnati, seeing bananas outside the grocery store actually growing on a tree is REALLY awesome!!! Eden Park....and the art museum with the mummy sarcophagus......and the natural history museum with the dinosaur skeleton and the CAVE!!!!!!!

The Beach --that's the one up by King's Island, isn't it? Ooooooo, there's that outlet mall up there, too!!!;) :rolleyes:

In any case, the ballgame and Larosa's is fine. If there is anybody else who wants to do something other than the game, that's fine too. Hey, I'm flexible!

Let's get this finalized.......It seems our group is small. Only definites are catsrule, helenabear and coqui, atleast I hope they are definites. Right now we are just thinking of hanging out at the house, I am sure gamecube will be included;) , and grilling out. Actually Sunday is pretty well full. We have a birthday dinner and then REds tickets for Sunday. (She is having two parties - one Sat & one Sun.)
