CANCELLED--Chicago June Meet - UPDATE!!!!

UPDATED APRIL 27th:

I'm officially cancelling this meet do to lack of interest and an over whelming amout of other meets this summer that DIS'ers are attending.
Maybe we can plan something late summer/early fall instead.

Sorry for any confusion this may have caused.

It just seemed that after the April meet there had been some interest in a June meet, therefore I thought I would start the discussion about it.
Oh well. There's always next time!

Hello fellow Chicago DIS'ers!!! :wave:

There was talk of a June meet but I see no one has the courage to post anything yet!! LOL!!! ;) :teeth:

So I thought I would take it upon myself to start the discussion.
Of course I could be wrong and maybe there are already talks amongst DIS'ers about this and I could just be in the dark as usual!!! :rolleyes:
But what the heck!! I like this new meet board so I thought I'd start the first Chicago Meet thread on it!!!! :teeth:

I was thinking maybe a movie/lunch meet again! Something that always seems to be fun for everyone and their families!

This is just my idea and of course anyone else can add their input and suggestions, as always. :)

I thought going to see 'Finding Nemo' would be a good movie to see.
And I was thinking that going to see it in the Fox Valley Mall area would be nice.
A little more centrally located for all DIS'ers involved I think.

There are dozens of great restaurant's in the area. And the mall itself has a nice Disney Store and a very large food court area too.

I would be more than happy to take on the responsibilty of organizing this meet. I know in the past it seems that it's always the same people working so hard on organizing these events, so I thought I'd step up to the plate and take my turn! :teeth:

I doubt I'll make this one, but do keep in mind that there is an Indy meet jsut a few hours away on the 21st.

I saw that thread a week or so ago and couldn't really see how many DIS'ers from Chicago would be attending.
At least with the poll everyone will have a vote. :)

At this point, I know I can't do the 7th. Two grad parties that day.

And, although it's Sunday, Father's day is in there somewhere, too.

We have a grad party on the 7th as well, Kim. :)

June is a very busy month...Hope some of you guys can come to Cincy in August..:)

I'm pretty sure I'll skip the June Chicago meet because I'll be there July 12th for Patrick-Con. However - I'll be in Chicago on Sunday night, June 8th, for a wedding - so I suppose I could arrive a day earlier if there's a meet on the 7th.

I'm hoping to attend the Indy meet on June 21st and the Cincinnati meet on Aug. 16th.

Sounds good, Nicole. Serena's Indy meet is in June, Patrick's will be in July and just thinking, like you, maybe a late Sept, early Oct meet would be good. Always nice to get together every few months. :)
