View Full Version : okay, one more question...is it okay to finish all your water by mid-afternoon?

I'm at work by 7, and by 3 I have had between 50 and 64 ounces of water. Does it matter that I had it all so early? I drink a little more water in the evening, but I usually just have a glass of diet pepsi while I'm watching tv or something. I don't like to drink water at night.

Is this cool?

I don't know why it wouldn't be. I try to get mine done as early in the day as possible -- don't want to be up all night, ya know? ;)

Good Job to the water drinkers! If I don't drink mine by very early in the day -- I am up visiting the potty too many times during the night.

I thinks it is good that you finish your water early. Any more water you drink is a bonus and you aren't up all night visiting the bathroom.

What a great idea!

How much water should I be drinking??

OMG...I am not drinking enough.
I downed a 24 oz in about an hour at work on Thursday and had more when I got home.

I am starting to dislike the taste of soda.
I can't believe I just typed that!

I drink mine throughout the day, but only because I drink about 96 ounces a day now...I have to spread it out!~ LOL

I think drinking it all by the afternoon is fine, as long as you do drink a good amount of it !:)

I drink 85 to 90% of my water intake M-F by 3 pm. My classroom is very hot and humid...we already reach about 85 degrees in there, and I drink, drink, drink :) I will drink something at dinner and through the evening another 20 ounces or so...I tend to drink about 96 to 110 ounces a day, but on weekends I just barely make the 64 ounces :(

Andrea, that's very cool.

As long as you're drinking your water each day, your body uses it in many ways to flush out all sorts of impurities. If it's easiest to drink it all early, that's great!

I just carry a bottle of water or a big refillable mug from the Polynesian (an old one, much bigger and prettier than the new ones!) filled with ice water around with me all the time: in the car, at work, at home. I sip throughout the day and drink at least 2 liters (about 67 oz) every day.

Glo, I'm guessing you're a teacher. HOW can you drink all that water and not have to take a potty break in the middle of a math lesson?!?!?!?! :)

It doesn't matter when you drink your water, as long as you drink it.

And while we're on the topic of "when" with weight loss, I was watching The View the other day, and they had on a diet expert. She said that there is NO truth to the myth that it's not healthy to eat after a specific time at night. She said it's not a good thing to do, because bodies sleep better on an empty stomach, but it will not hinder your weight loss efforts. She said weight loss doesn't work on an hourly basis, so it's not WHEN you eat, but your daily caloric consumption.

I bring 2 fairly decent sized bottles of water with me to work every morning. I find if I dont finish both bottles before I leave for work at 5pm I often dont finish the 2nd bottle.
I may start to make sure I finish both but if I want something else to drink at night maybe then I'll treat myself to Crystal Light or caffeine free diet coke.

A good rule of thumb is half your body weight in ounces. So, if you weigh 200 pounds, then try & drink 100 ounces of water a day.
