I really hurt all over! It is my body rebelling to all this blasted exercise! I'm thinking a hot shower and Motrin might help.
What do you do?

The day after a good workout, when I wake up and have that "boy didn't I do great yesterday!" feeling, I reach for a Bayer (helps with the blood) and do it all over again. :D Sorry to say that another workout is the key to kickin' out the kinks! Perhaps not as strenuous, but nevertheless, gotta do it again!

I take a nice relaxing shower, do it again the next day and remember the old saying "NO PAIN NO GAIN."

Yup! The best thing to do is analgesic+shower+herbal tea=good nights sleep (which you will get after a good workout:) ). Then start all over again refreshed in Mind, Body, and especially, Spirit. The longer you do it, the easier it will get, and even if you miss a day or two here and there, your body will remember, and it won't hurt so bad. Pretty soon, the only pain you'll have is during the workout.
THE BURN!
Even that will be something you come to enjoy. Youll know you're doing your body good!
Good for you!
Thanks for the inspiration. I'm off to do my strength training!

I make sure I don't do more than 4 days in a row and take a day or two of rest.....I stretch, take warm baths, and Aleve helps if it is really bad.....
My muscle aches are usually in my quads and thighs........ugh! But at least I know they are building to be stronger!! Pilates helps me too....I get such a good stretch from it.

Remember to stretch and do a proper cool down. That will help. Way to go on getting up and getting moving!

Good for you Regina for excercising. :Pinkbounc
I definitely make sure I stretch after I do the circuit at Curves. I don't seem to be in pain afterwards if I do that. Pilates the next day I feel it in my butt and hips but I just deal with the pain the next day, pain no gain.
rabuzzota, we look forward to how your first soccer game goes. Good luck. :Pinkbounc

Icy hot and a nice warm bath. And the feeling that you accomplished a great deal will get you through the pain!
And as another poster said, get back out and do it again!
Feel the burn!!!! ;)

Okay guys, I just walked 1.5 miles on the treadmill and then I made myself go a little further. I have also made about 20 trips from the basement to the 2nd floor with my son's toys. (they were stored in the basement while we redecorated his room.)
Time for a Crystal Light and a lite lunch! Oh, and a motrin!

I haven't started weight training yet. I only use my elliptical (and I have been bad today :( haven't used it yet).
When I am sore I take a hot bath and take Naproxen it seems to help me a little more than Ibuprophen, I'm not sure why, though.
Good for you! I'm so proud of you for working out. I'm sorry you are sore, though. Thank goodness you know that soreness will soon be gone.
Onward and downward!

The Marines have a saying......
Pain is weakness leaving the body!
Hope the warm shower and Motrin helped. Now, get out there and do it again! Good luck!
