So as I donned my swimsuit for the first time this season, my stomach tightened. But I'll tell you what! At a water park there is always someone who is....

fatter than you or.....

scrawnier than you or.....

paler than you or.....

saggier than you or........

more fried than you or........

more in denial than you!

Who knew!

:teeth: So very true Stacy! What a great way of looking at things!

No need for ANYONE to feel inferior at WDW! :)

Ole! I avoided water parks for years because A) I'm not pleased with my middle aged paunch (so much for women being more vain than men), and B) standing next to my thin wife with no shirt on, I look like a dolt. We finally went last year, and there is no doubt, there are young, thin people there in almost nothing. There are also 400# 65 year olds in Speedos. My new water park creed: go yee in peace, judge not, and enjoy...

I'm glad I wasn't the only one that had noticed this...

Oh that is so true! :p I was kind of thinking about my bathing suit and not looking forward to trying it on. That makes me feel better!!

Absolutely true! And best of all, after the first 5 minutes, you generally don't even NOTICE anyone else - you're having way too much fun. ;)

Amen! I bought a new bathing suit for our trip in June and when I tried it on, all I could think was "well, it looks as good as ANY bathing suit would look on my body." But hey---nobody's perfect. Even if I had a great body, I don't think I could ever wear a thong anyway!

On some of those waterslides even the biggest of swimsuits sometimes become bikinis and thongs by the end!!

At TL a few weeks ago, and two other things occurred to me:

1. I don't know a darn soul, so who cares!?!?!?!?

2. They will take a pro photo in the lazy river, so NOTHING SHOWS BUT YOUR HEAD ANYWAY!!!!

LOL!!!!!!!

And as I tell my wife, "You will never see these people again", not that I am the fittest person around, because I am not.

See you soon ... :)

you guys & gals are hitting it square on the head! After that first walk into the wavepool of trying desperately to make my 38 year body look 19 again along comes the fat guy in the little speedo and alas, I can breathe again! lol!

So true! No matter what your body shape, there's always something you wish were different, so even the thinnest people might be wishing their bikini top could be a C-cup or their chest more muscular. Everyone has their 'thing', but happily the Disney water parks are a place where people really don't care what you look like, as long as there aren't too many of you ahead of them in line for the slides. :)

My feelings exactly!!!

When DS and I went to BB, I was a little worried about wearing my bathing suit, (couldn't get the darn wrap to work so I didn't have that to hide behind)

One thing I noticed right away was that EVERYONE was having a great time with their families and friends. They could care less about me!! Why should I spend my time worrying about what others might think?? As long as my son is happy, I'm happy.

The only time I saw someone I knew was unfortunately a mum from my daughter's school at BB. Of course she was really slim and looked great but hey ho - did I care? no.

My DH (who falls into the "large and hairy" category :D) was worried about this on our trip and I told him not to worry... and I was right. It's Disney, not Cancun. Everyone is having too much fun to worry about being cute :D

Great thinking. Too bad I don't like water parks! Although the same things hold true anywhere you go. Someone will always be different. Thank God!

if you see someone that is paler than you, that is probably me. You may want to get some sunshades if you see me.

This reminds me of my experience last week of trying on bathing suits for my upcoming WDW trip. I must have tried on 100 suits in two hours! They all looked great from the front but when I turned around, yuck! I finally got one that wasn't too bad in the backview but it was still pretty bad. I told my mother this and she said she doesn't care what she looks like from behind. As long as she doesn't have to see it! :D
