I am thinking of buying an AP for our upcoming trip.....I have a feeling the savings on our hotel will not make buying an AP really that great of an idea....but the discounts at many of the restaurants look tempting....do any of you AP holders dine at certain places just because you get the discount....is 10% a big deal....just wondering....

We have AP's so that we can go back more than once a year. The hotel discounts are the second reason we purchase the AP. Never even thought about using our AP for food. And we probably won't. I don't think 10% is a big deal. That's less than the tip in most restaurants.

Keep in mind that the discounts are kind of limited. They don't cover alcholic beverages and for Epcot are only good for WEEKDAY lunches. The others are at resorts and I generally just find it too much trouble to go out of the parks to save 10%. I don't save much at all with mine on meals. Now unless it has changed you do get a discount on most merchandise at the World of Disney and that may be the only way to get one now. So if you buy a lot there, that might be worth looking into.

I don't think 10% is a big deal discount. we've used our discount, but we save only about $7 when we take our family of 5 to Garden Grill's character meal. We tip more than 10%, so while we schedule Epcot meals m-f lunch to get our discount, it alone would never have made the AP worthwhile.

the only reason I even asked this question is because I was getting an AP to save on the hotel.....the difference between an AP & a 5 day PHP is about $150.....the discounts haven't come out yet for August, so I don't know what I will be saving....if it is less than $150, an AP won't be worth it cause we will not be back in wdw for a few years....but if we used the AP for discounts at restaurants & miniature golf.....I feel like I am rambling, but the bottom line is I am trying to get as much bang for my buck as I can....thanks for all your input....
