Let's get together for another Michigan DIS meet!

The last time we got together it was suggested we hold it in Lansing around mid June.

I'm thinking June 14th at one of the mall food courts (possibly Meridian Mall in Okemos/East Lansing)

Either week is fine but I'd prefer 21st since it's closer to my Bday and week before is FATHER's day I believe and NASCAR race in MI that I'm really hoping to get to go to.

We're having my DS's b-day party on June 28 at a bowling alley...if you want to bring the meet to the bowling alley ~ that would be great!! :)

We'll have to beg off this meet since it's just too far to go with 2 small children. :(

I'm sure you'll all have a great time! Wish we could be there! Please keep us informed of any other meets you schedule though.

John, The Lansing Mall was just recently remodeled and yes they have a very nice Food Court.....not tons of choices in food but a very nice area to meet great DISers!!:bounce:


This Mall, also has a Disney Store which is where I met MelissathePooh just today working there!:D

We won't be able to make the meet--and for once it's nearby! I also like both those malls. On the other hand, I'll be in Disney those weekends! Hmmm. . .Lansing *making a weight scale with hands* Disney. . .Lansing. . .Disney--nope, I definitely can't make the Lansing meet! ;)

We have the Ford 100th Anniversary event the weekend of the 14th....not sure if we will attend all day Sat or not. The 21st we might have a grad party, but could probably swing coming for a bit. It is also Tim's bday!!
The 28th we are totally unavailable....going to be up north in Mackinac for the week! :)

Sure hope we can see everyone again. Just let us know when it is and we will do our best! A Sunday would probably work better, but who knows! LOL!!! Whatever works for everyone and we will try to make it!

Final date & location!

The meet will be on Saturday June 28th at the Meridian Mall (in Okemos, MI exit 110 off I96)!

We'll meet around noon at the food court!

I just checked mapquest and see that it is about 250 miles... I will do my best to be there. This time no SNOW will get in my way.

Juli, a little birdie told me that you'd be willing to ride up together. Being that I think I'd do this solo, I'd love to try that again this time (and this time show up :rolleyes: ).

I'll be there, John. This is going to be fun. It's the first Michigan meet ever held near me. I don't mind driving a few hours for a meet but this is kind of neat :)

Now that you have settled on a final date and place, I'm going to move this to the DIS Meets board.

John, if you would like to, why don't you write up another post to keep on the cb with a link to this thread on the DIS Meets board? That way anyone interested in attending will be able to find it easily to sign up.

Well all I may have to bow out on this one... I have a lot going on this month and I just found out yesterday that a good friend has a party being held for her in honor of her engagement. So with all the weekens totally filled up this month if I go to the meet and that party that I am supposed to go to, I just don't think I can do this :(

Maybe next time and maybe if it is a bit closer for me, I can make it w/o any trouble.

Directions for getting to Meridian Mall located at the intersection of West Grand River Avenue (43) & Marsh Road, just to the east of the intersection of West Grand River Avenue (43) & Okemos Road.

Take I96 to exit 110, head north on Okemos road to , turn right on West Grand River Avenue. The Mall is on your left. You can turn left into the Mall just a few hundred feet after you turn or continue to Marsh road & turn left where you will find a left hand entrance into the Mall also.

If you click on Mapquest in lower left corner of Mall sight & type in intersection of Mall, it will show you the directions.

The shortest route to the Food Court is to park In the South East parking lot (between Galyan's & the soon to be Younkers) & enter by Galyan's. It's the biggest Mall entrance & it has a 'FOOD COURT' sign out front.
