We have reservations at POR first week of Sept. We had planned on going with another family of 5. Now it will be only the 4 of us. I am considering changing to ASM. I have not been to DW in a very long time and this will be a first for my DH,DS(7) and DD(3). Any opinions.

I've stayed at POR, ASSports, and ASMusic. I'm one of the biggest cheapskates (per DH). Yet, after giving the All-Stars 2 tries, I have to say that POR is well-worth the increase in price. Just my opinion.

What rate do you have now for POR? Maybe there will be some codes out for that time. They are closing parts of POR for rehab, so who knows? You could end up with an upgrade! I would sit tight with POR. Apply any discount codes as they become availalbe.I haven't stayed there, but I have stayed at ASSp, ASMo, CBR, and CSR. The mods are well worth the money to be quite a bit more comforable.

Well, I am a "mod" convert, but your kids may get a kick out of the All Stars theming, which is very delightful. The AS tend to be much more crowded and chaotic than a mod or a deluxe.

However, if you prefer something a little more laid-back...go for your moderate!

Check out mousesavers.com for discount codes. You can sometimes get mods for less than $100 per night during off-season.

We have stayed at sports twice, and movies, POFQ and POR each once. I would definately pay the extra for the moderate if you can. All Stars are more and more a teenage hangout. Last trip the pool was so crowded with teenagers that even the life guard stopped trying to keep control. She was eventually thrown in the pool. The food court at POR is also much better and more relaxing than anything you will get at all star.

POR rooms are also about 50 square feet bigger than All Stars - you will probably appreciate that with your large family - I know in Alligator Bayou you can get rooms with a trundle bed if someone wants to sleep in their own mini bed instead of sharing

Your other option might be to split stay with Sun-Thurs nights renting DVC points for a studio or one bedroom and then weekend nights at POR - DVC points are high on weekends

thanks

I think I am leaning toward staying at POR. From what I can gather from these boards there may be some codes coming out this summer for the time we are going.
