McDonalds???? I just started my diet on Monday and have been doing great (so far). Now tonight my DD has a youth group meeting early and we need to pick up something quick for supper. Of course she wants McDonalds. What can I order?? I like their new salads but I think the dressing is not a good thing.

Quarter Pounder with cheese -- No bun and a side salad with full fat ranch dressing.

Something very similar happened to me yesterday. DD's school was having a fund raiser. One of the Arby's here donated 20% of all sales that day to the school, and the faculty also chipped in at the store serving food and cleaning tables etc. We HAD to go. I hate Arby's only because of how I feel after eating there. (while eating, I'm in heaven! ) Soooooo.....I just didn't eat there. We let the kids eat then we went to OUTBACK!!!!!! I had salmon (1/3 of what they brought, wrapped up the rest), steamed veggies (Yea right! Steamed in butter and salt!), and a salad and a glass of wine!

Maybe you could grab something healthy before you go, and have a diet soda or something while the kids eat. It is a huge mental boost when you can walk out of any FF joint, and not have eaten there!:p Other than that, I have no practical suggestions, since I'm not sure what plan you are following, I'm assuming WW type, since the salad dressing scares you. Maybe a grilled chicken sandwich with mayo on the side and a diet soda?
Whatever you decide, just keep up the program, no matter what happens at Mc D's!

Keep the Faith!

Thanks everyone. I am not really on a plan, just trying to exercise and going low fat, low calories.

They do have a lite menu, I would pick something off of that and get a side salad.

I don't have little kids, but if I had to eat at McDonalds, I would order their regular sized hamburger, no catsup, extra pickles and throw the bun away.

What is on the lite menu?? Our local one doesn't have one. We live in a pretty small town and McDonalds is our only fast food restaurant.

Most mcdonald's have a low-fat or FF salad dressing. Ours is a ff herb-vinigrette and it is good. Also the grilled chicken is not as bad if you get no mayo on it!!!!!!

I am doing WW but when I go to McDonalds I usually get one of the following meals.

#1 Regular hamburger and diet soda (6 pts.)
#2 4 pc. Chicken McNuggets with Honey Mustartd Sauce and diet soda(6 pts.)
#3 Grilled Chicken Deluxe Salad with Ceasar salad dressing and a diet soda (6 pts if you use all of the dressing but I usually do the dip the fork in the dressing thing and end up using less than 1/2 the dressing which makes this a 4 pt. meal)

I get the grilled chicken sandwich sans the bun....works great...though we really don't eat there often...it is at least an option..

I just went this afternoon and ordered a Big Mac with no bun and a fork, black coffee with slenda in my purse. - Danny had the full works - happy meal (chicken Nuggets), milk and his Clifford toy!

I'm not a FF lover, and DH shouldn't have it, but we do take DD sometimes as a treat. If I'm hungry I usually get the McShaker garden salad with ff french dressing or the yogurt parfait (yogurt, berries and a little granola - yummy :D ) and then have something else when we get home.

I just had their new Grilled Chicken Caesar Salad tonight. It was really good -- they marinate the chicken in something (kind of spicy, but good!) and then grill it and serve it warm. I was pleasantly surprised by it, and it was only 4 WW points. :)
