Trying to find a board with info on the fire that is 2 mi. from WDW. Is it making alot of smoke in Disney? or in AW? Are you able to drive in the area ok? I heard one highway is closed.
We will be there this weekend and would like to know the answer as well.

We were at WDW last week. The first indication we saw &/or smelled from the fire you mention was on Wednesday evening. We walked from the Beach Club to the International Gateway at EPCOT about sunset. You could see the setting sun through the smoke/haze. By the time we walked back the the Beach Club the wind was blowing from the area of the fire towards WDW. You could really smell the smoke. Thursday morning we woke to what I first thought was heavy fog. It was a combination of fog & smoke. Friday the wind was blowing from the fire towards WDW. We were at the Studios & you could really smell the smoke. This was in the late morning. Awhile later the wind changed & the smoke & smell were gone.

we just got back. the fire is a swamp fire about 3 miles from animal kingdom. there are others as well but thats the close one. you can smell it sometimes and occassionally you will see some ash falling. but the biggest effect of the fire on wdw is the water conservation in the park. for instance, donalds fountain boat in toon town isnt fireing water these days, stuff like that.

Well, thank you very much. My daughter was in the area with little twin boys so I was a bit worried.
We will be going soon also......and the hubby with the heart condition...would do best to have smoke free air.
I think the rainy season is upon us and maybe it all will end. So we can have Sun and Fun.:)
