My dog was flipping out and my wife was taking her out to do what dogs do outside when she yelled there is a horse or something in the front yard. I went out and there was no horse... It was a Moose. Now I have lived in New England my whole life and this is the first time I have ever seen one this close up... They are HUGE!!!!

Here it is in the yard across the street...

Me thinks you ought to introduce YOUR MOOSE to RANATRA'S TURKEY!!!

The most wildlife we see around here is the next door neighbor entertaining the troops~

Really neat Nat! I'm with your wife though... I would have called it a horse too!

It is still in the area... It must be young though... as it does not seem to be to afraid of people. It eats right in the front yards of everyones house...

When we lived in merrimack, which I think is near you (aren't you in Milford?) I came home from the supermarket and as I rounded the corner I saw a horde of people in front of my house and a police car. My heart was in my mouth literally. I was afraid something had happened to DH. It was a baby moose standing in the front yard happily chomping on my pansies. He moved from house to house. Later we heard that the police in Amherst had killed him. When we lived in Warner we had prarie dogs, fox, skunk, deer, a badger, racoons and best of all two baby bear cubs. We watched them from the window because I had heard if there are babies the mother is not far away.

Here in Florida we supposedly have armadillos and wild boar are supposed to live in the orange grove behind our house. and of course alligators. I haven't seen any yet and hope I don't.

Wow Nat a moose! I can't imagine looking out and seeing that in my yard...well, I am not sure a whole moose would fit in my yard. I am glad that you got a picture of it to share!
