did a search and came up empty handed....do any of the universal properties offer a federal govt/Dept of Defense discount? I suspect I am better off booking with the Entertainment rate, but it never hurts to ask :)

We're military, but I've never thought to ask for military discounts at the Universal properties since the Entertainment/Fan Club discounts are great (although I do ask when trying to book WDW properties!). We stayed in a standard view HRH room last year for the $125 Entertainment rate; this year we've got the Fan Club rate of $130 for pool view. If you find that there are federal gov't/Dept. of Defense discounts, please post!

when I called to check on rates, I was told that the Entertainment card has the best rate ($125 at the HRH) for my dates. I don't know if that means there is no govt rate or if it just wasn't as good as the Entertainment card. FWIW, every time I check rates, no matter where it is, I ask about the govt. rate first :)

I have asked when checking on rates a couple of times. No government discounts at the Loew's hotels. Diana
