Spent last week at the WLV. We had a studio and the room was very nice, it was room 4533. Water pressure was not very good was unsure if this was due to fire or draught. I was hoping studios had a balcony but not the case here. It overlooked the woods and the quiet pool. The only trouble we had was getting back to resort after E night. You have to take monorail to TTC and catch another bus. I think there should be a direct bus to WLV and campground after boats stop running. We had no problem with lines or waiting to eat at the wispering canyon cafe. The smoke from the fire was depositing ash thur - sat and in the morning. Depending on the wind visibility was bad also. Any specific questions please ask away.

No balcony on the studios? Do you know if that's true for all of them or is there a mix?

As best as I could tell from outside all studios have no balcony. Ours was also a lock off. Im not sure if all studios are a lock off though.

We were in a studio 2 weeks ago (3538) that had a balcony; maybe the 4th floor are different?

Anyone else under the impression that all villas had at least one balcony? The DVC website says they do!

Yes, I thought all studios had balconies. I did not think there was a balcony off the bedroom of the 1 bedroom units though.

Had a balconey in our studio, when we switched to one bdrm, we also had a balconey off the living room but not the bedroom. I thought like everyone else that all the villas including studios had a balconey.

We were there in March. Not sure of the room number, but it was definitely a studio with a balcony.

How was the boat from the VWL to MK? I have read that there were long lines just recently. Any improvement?

The wait was'nt bad at all, just did not like that there was no direct service after E night.

Glad to hear that some of you had a balcony with a studio. It must be just the lock off units.

Different experience. We were in a studio lock-off (I believe it was room 2508) and it definitely had a balcony. The VWL is a wonderful property.

The 3 times that we have been in a studio lock-off at OKW we also had the nice balcony, more of a porch at OKW compared to BW and VWL.

Studio #3059 (directly overlooking pool w/a patch of Bay Lake visible) definitely has a balcony. I am going to sit out on it right now! *sigh* aahhhh, life is good! :D

Ok, I realise I'm probably being a bit silly now. Maybe because I'm in the UK...I don't think we have this term.

What exactly do you mean when you refer to a 'lock-off'?

TIA

Penny! :)

A 'lock-off' is a studio that has a locking connecting door to a one-bedroom unit, so that the two together can be rented as a two-bedroom. The opposite is a 'dedicated' studio or 1-bedroom with no connecting door to another unit.

4533 is the only one!!!!!!!

why? well... if you look at the outside of the building at that point there are no balconies. the 4th floor happens to be the only room that is not a two decicated two bedroom.

ALL OTHER ROOMS HAVE AT LEAST ONE BALCONY!!!!!

Newanda thank you for clearing that up for me. Now I know I won't ask for that one again.:)

That is wierd, very strange indeed. It almost appears there was an error in the construction of the building. I wonder if we can do anything about that and get a balcony on that unit. I would be mad if I accidently or unwittingly was assigned that unit. I enjoy sitting out on a balcony with the morning coffee, or evening cocktail.

I also know that I will not remember this unit's room number and specifically request NOT to be assigned there.

This is almost scary.

I beleive that all VWL studios are lock offs. (BWV has a few dedicated Studio Plus units).

There are some dedicated 2BR villas at VWL- where the 2nd BR won't have a balcony (this is the same in all DVC dedicated 2BR's)

Interesting bit about this one particular room with no balcony....

I think there is probably always at least one party staying at VWL who would be happy to do without the balcony...but if I were assigned this room I'd ask for another! I'll have to write that room # on my VWL notes...
