I posted several months ago that I had gotten the DL CM map set for Chanukkah/Christmas. I wanted do something special with it so I bided my time until I found the right companion map on ebay. Here is the finished product:

The picture isn't great, the frame has more detail in it, and the colors are a little bit brighter, but you get the idea. I am very excited about the way it turned out. It will always hold a place of honor in my home as it reminds me of two things: my first visit to a Disney park, circa 1957 (even though it was in utero:) ) and also of my very thoughtful and generous best friend whose friendship I will always cherish.

Queen....what a great job.....As you know we are going to DL in June, and looking very forward to seeing Chas, and letting him be our guide..Poor guy...you would think that one dinner w/ Ed would make him run in the other direction....
buy the way...what is the size of the pic...it looks huge..

Donna, The entire thing is about 27 x 14. I should clarify that I didn't do the actual framing, I picked out the frame and mats and background and left the work to the professionals! The map is copyrighted 1958 and the guy who did the framing is sure it is authentic (ie not a reproduction). Someone must have had it in a box all these years.:D
When you see Sir Chas, give him a pinch for me...I owe him one.:D

LOL I figure you didn't cut the mat yourself...but you did the design, and picked out all the stuff...and I love it....we have a lot of original disney things here, and what a great way to show it off....a neighbor for Christmas gave us a framed copy of a page in an old Life mag. of the opening day of WDW w/ all the employees standing outside of the train station, and then the same overview 25 ysrs later...it is very cool....of course Sir Raul has it hanging in HIS office....:smooth:
Well wait until I get finished w/ this house (:p ) and WE WILL see just where it will end up..
And I will be honored to pinch Sir Chas for our Queen...in fact I will give him 2...one on each cheek:eek:
