WORD OF WARNING ON CONNECIONS...for current members

Hey all.
Just got a fold-out in the mail regarding my membership to Connections.
It basically says they are going to "upgrade" my membership "automatically" to $138.95 per year IF I don't call and stop them within 30 days.
Needless to say, I called today and ordered a few vouchers for December and am making it a point of cancelling next week when they come in.

Thanks for the head's up. Ive been a member since October and just bought Q & C for June trip. Was your yearly membership almost up? Do you think all members will get that or just those who are near the end of their year? $80 was worth it, but I don't think $138 is. Too bad..use alot of the gift certificates and meal coupons.

I got one today. My membership ends sometime this month. I called last week to cancel. I really like connections but I don't think it's worth $$$.

I rejoined with simple escapes, their membership fee is only $99, just $20 more than what I paid for connections.

I received that postcard a couple of months ago. I received some advice from this board. Call and cancel. They offer you $100 in vouchers to stay in. I stayed in. Just received a check for my first voucher. I mailed a copy of my cable bill they sent $10. 2nd quarter you get $20, 3rd quarter you get $30, 4th quarter you get $40.

It's OK, if you can keep track of everything, and have a trip planned.

Connears, my membership is up at the end of the month, so expect your post card sometime in September.
