Anyone else out there going on their first Disney Cruise this year? I am just so excited!!! I can't wait for the first class service, the towel animals and the expressions on my dh and dkids faces when they walk on board. I check in here at least two times a day because I just want to make sure that I have not missed anything!! Who else feels like bouncing out of their chairs with anticipation over their first cruise???:Pinkbounc :Pinkbounc :Pinkbounc :Pinkbounc :Pinkbounc :Pinkbounc :Pinkbounc :Pinkbounc :Pinkbounc :Pinkbounc :Pinkbounc :Pinkbounc :Pinkbounc :Pinkbounc :Pinkbounc :Pinkbounc :Pinkbounc :Pinkbounc :Pinkbounc :Pinkbounc :Pinkbounc :Pinkbounc :Pinkbounc :Pinkbounc :Pinkbounc :Pinkbounc :Pinkbounc :Pinkbounc :Pinkbounc :Pinkbounc :Pinkbounc :Pinkbounc :Pinkbounc :Pinkbounc :Pinkbounc :Pinkbounc :Pinkbounc :Pinkbounc :Pinkbounc :Pinkbounc :Pinkbounc :Pinkbounc :Pinkbounc :Pinkbounc :Pinkbounc :Pinkbounc :Pinkbounc :Pinkbounc :Pinkbounc :Pinkbounc :Pinkbounc :Pinkbounc :Pinkbounc :Pinkbounc :Pinkbounc :Pinkbounc :Pinkbounc :Pinkbounc :Pinkbounc :Pinkbounc :Pinkbounc :Pinkbounc :Pinkbounc :Pinkbounc :Pinkbounc :Pinkbounc :Pinkbounc :Pinkbounc :Pinkbounc :Pinkbounc :Pinkbounc :Pinkbounc :Pinkbounc

This is our first cruise and I can't wait! I've read every trip report I can get my hands on and come here at least a couple times a day. DH and I were out to dinner last night and I was asking him questions abot excursions and spa treatments, etc. He looked at me like I was crazy. He thinks because we have 7 months and a few weeks to go that we don't have to plan this "stuff" so far in advance. Ha! I've been planning "stuff" since I booked in January.
Snowball, when are you cruising? We're on a November 4 day Wonder cruise then spending a few days at OKW.

I wish I had known about these boards before our first DC! Our experience the second time around was better because of it.

Me too, me too, we are going on a 3 night cruise in August, I can't wait......
The kids do not know about it, we are just going to drive there from Orlando, and surprise them (they do know that we are going to WDW).

Wait a minute...I'm bouncing in excitement for my 3rd DCL cruise in December! I thought the excitement and anticipation would wear off, but I guess it will take more than three cruises!
Of course, this will be my first with my granddaughter (who will be 3 1/2 by then), so it will certainly be different. The past two cruises have been "just adults".
You'll love it!

Ours is June 28th. We've had this booked since January 2002, and I have thought of nothing else! Even planned last years vacation not even really caring if we went! It seems like the 1.5 years is flying by very quickly!!!

This will be our first cruise as well.
We check the board 2-3 times daily for hints, reports and just to get more excited.
The moment we are most looking forward to is driving up to Port Canaveral, seeing the beautiful ship and realizing that we will be on it soon!!!!!!
May 4th Wonder Baby, oh yeah!

You think you are excited now, wait 'till you are getting close to port and you see that HUGE ship in the distace, wait 'till you see how clean the ship is, wait 'till you see how friendly all the Cast members are....and Castaway Cay.....there is no describing it. I can smell that warm carribean air right now. Number 3 cruise is Nov. and we still haven't done everything we've wanted to do on the ship.
I was planning a "Beaches" all inclusive for spring break 04 and DD13 and DD11 want to go on another cruise instead.

I won my cruise Feb. 10th and booked it early March for May 3rd. I give all the kudos to those of you who booked your cruises so many months ago. I think I would be crawling out of my skin with excitement if I had to wait that long!:Pinkbounc

We started planning our cruise while we were vacationing at Vero Beach this past November. We were looking at a model of the ship they have at Vero Beach. On our last day at Vero Beach, we drove up the coast to have lunch at Dixie Crossroads in Titusville. On the way up we stopped at Port Canaveral and saw the WONDER at the dock. I took a picture of it from the side of the road. It wasn't the MAGIC that we will be on, but we still got very excited looking at it. We still have 142 days to go, but when we first made our ressies for our cruise this August, we had over 250 days left. I'm just a big kid at heart, and I think some family members are getting tired of hearing about our upcoming cruise. Actually, I think they are jealous, and they should be!!!

My DD is bringing her two college friends who have never cruised so this will be their first DCL cruise...we are pumping them up with info!!!

My first one too!!! I am so excited and I feel like I've been planning this forever. After several cancelled cruises I am really excited. Yesterday I booked the air and today I booked and paid for the hotel. There's no turning back now!!! Now it's a matter of when or if we tell the kids!!!

Starting to get the excitement back - hope it stays. The 11/8 DIS cruisers are helping me get psyched again.
This will be our 1st DCL cruise, 2nd we counted down to.
We've been counting down 11months and then another 12months (7 of that 12 left to go)

Cruise #1 for us too!! We're not going until March 6, 2004 and already I can't stand the excitement!! My poor DS4 keeps asking me when we're going (he obviously doesn't understand the concept of a year yet;) ) so I have to keep saying in a few days...I'm going to have to keep saying that for the next year LOL!

Am I excited about my 1st DCL cruise? You bet, I have the days until I leave marked off on my calendar at work. I live on these boards. Whenever the kids are looking for me, my DH tells them to check by the computer. Our friends who have been on 3 Disney Cruises say that I already know more about the ship than they do.
If I am this excited now, what will I be like in 100 days? I don't think anyone will want to be around me.:Pinkbounc :Pinkbounc

Well, if they think you talk about it a lot NOW, just WAIT until you get home from your cruise in August! You're going to have the time of your life!
We're also going on our first cruise- Magic Western 9/13/03. We booked about a month ago. I don't know how people booking over a year away can stand the wait. I'd be nuts.
Boy was it hard to talk my husband and daughter (9) into going! He never wanted to go on a cruise, and she doesn't want to be out of sight of land. But ds (5) and I won out. I've been reading and planning for months, and I'll keep doing it like I do for every Disney vacation. Dh pretends to think I'm nuts, but when he read the Passporter he said, "Hey, I'm really glad that you're so obsessive because you'll know what to do. If you weren't crazy, we would be lost when we got on the ship." How's that for a backhanded compliment??? He doesn't even say, "you're looking at that website again?" when he passed by and sees me here.
Oh well, as long as I get on the ship. Like everyone else, I'm so excited. We're just praying for no deployment until after we get back, though he says to go without him.

We are going on our 1st Disney Cruise September 20th - DH, DD (3 1/2), BIL, MIL, and family friends - total of 7. I am just so excited - DD keeps asking "When do we go on the Mickey Mouse Boat?" 20 more weeks to go -I think that I am going to make a paper chain to help her count down.
I just love this board - I have gotten so many useful hints & "insider" info that I know will help us have a MAGICal cruise. My thanks to everyone for their contributions.

I've got nearly 11 months to wait for my first cruise, and can hardly stay away from the boards to get all the info I can get my hands on. These postings are amazingly helpful to my DH and myself, being newbys. The waiting is the hardest part.
This is our first, too! We leave on the Wonder on May 1 and since I discovered these boards a few weeks ago, I've been planted in front of my pc. I only wish I had longer to learn from everybody out there who is so knowlegeable!! Every night as DH retires to bed, and I'm still sitting here, he gives me the strangest look!
Thanks to everyone who contributes to these boards...what a wonderful resource they are!

I just wanted to say our first cruise was 3/22-29/03, and it was the best, the most magical time on a vacation I have ever had in my life!! Oh, by the way I am 53 years old. It was everything everyone on these boards had said and then alot, lot more. The cast members and all on board just could'nt do enough for you. I am now dreaming about booking our next cruise. So I have to start saving now, and book in January for March 2005. All of you that this is your first cruise are in for a trip of a lifetime. I believe they pour pixie dust on you when you board and it last for your entire trip. I'm still basking in it. I got my picutures today, and I want to go again now!! Maybe I will run into some money. All I can say is you will have a great time.

Our 1st cruise is in 2 weeks!!!!!!!! I think we've finally got DD's(9) nosebleeds under control. They started when we tried on bathing suits a month ago and have been a weekly ordeal since. She gets them when she gets excited. Since this is her first flight, first trip to FL, and first cruise, I'm anticpating a few more nosebleeds in the next few weeks.

This is our first Disney cruise, and my daughter and grandsons' first cruise. It is so exciting, because I feel like this is a whole new experience although this is my 5th cruise. We have never been to Orlando, so everything is new to me. I know Miami port and airport like the back of my hand, but this is too cool, not knowing what we will encounter. I have to catch myself so that I don't talk a hole in everyones' ear about this cruise in September. Everyone enjoy your cruises.

Our first ever cruise is next January...we're going on the 4 day Wonder. This site has been a wonderful help in planning, and helps me to keep from getting fidgety while waiting! My oldest daughter, 10, knows about it, and she's very excited, too. My husband just wants a vacation. Anywhere. We're leaving next weekend to go for a week to stay in a cabin in the North Georgia mountains, and I know it will be a nice and relaxing week. But the cruise!!!!!!!!!!!!! January seems so far off........

Bnickle3 - I totally know what you mean and am almost afraid of what I'll do after the cruise (although I've already warned my Dfinacee that I see the Magic in our future).
I too can't wait to be sitting by the pool in the warm sun with my Mickey ice cream bar & my biggest worry being whether I'll have one or two desserts with dinner. Heavenly.
My only concern is how expensive DCL is versus other cruise lines that makes it hard to justify. But hopefully it'll continue to live up too its reputation.

At first we were going to keep it a secret from my grandson, but my daughter decided to tell him. Well, I got a book from the travel agent with lots of pictures in it, and showed it to GS(7) yesterday. His reply was in a very nonshalant(sp) way "Hey, I'm impressed" I couldn't believe he didn't at the least jump up and down screaming "YEAH! I'M GOING ON A CRUISE! LOOK HOW BIG IT IS. LOOK AT ALL THE WATER!" etc.... nothing. I just smiled to myself and said, "I GUESS I'M THE KID IN THIS GROUP!"

It hardly seems real after all the planning , and reading these boards, and reading them again.

Our first ever cruise is June 5th - 8th on the Wonder. Was really excited at first and then calmed down after everything was paid for. Then started to get excited about the WDW portion of our vacation and all the planning for that (will be staying for three nights at WDW after cruise). Have absolutely haunted the boards for the last month!
Then DS (10 soon 11) asked me last night "Mom, where is our room going to be on the boat?" His brother (13) was teasing him that we were going to be on the bottom - practically in the water! I found the DCL site and showed him our deck (2) and then we checked out some other stuff. He started saying "I'm so excited to be going on that boat! I just can't wait!" This from a child who never gets excited much about going on a trip. He'd really rather stay home!
Well, that did it for me, too. I'm now :Pinkbounc very excited about the cruise again. Guess I just needed a reminder about how great this cruise is going to be.
Got our excursion sign up sheet and still haven't faxed it. Guess I should get busy.
