Congratulations to everyone who talked their spouse into the Romance packages. But, just wait til you see the two OLD lovebirds romancing without the package..... woooo-hooooo, right Cheri? Right? Yooo-hoooo. Right? Darn, she musta dozed off.

Hmm...let's see. Driving in they said that it was -2 in Boston without windchill. I let my car warm up and about 1/2 hr into the drive, with my heat on FULL, aimed at the windshield/defrost and my feet, I went to clean the windshield...sprayed it, the wipers went a few times, and the WHOLE WINDSHIELD FROZE OVER. I had to drive peeking through one strip that wasn't all frosted until it cleared. Silly cold.

Today isn't as bad as tomorrow is supposed to be- they're asking us not to use power if we can, as the demand will be at an all time high, even more so than with a/c's in the summer...tomorrow they say that with windchill to expect close to -45 deg. F.

While you folks up there in SD and MI and Canada are probably laughing at us, we're used to SNOW, but not this baloney!

And this from a girl that used to live on top of Mt. Washington (tallest mt. in the Northeast) at the weather observatory...

That was a very sweet note to Randy, Dean! Someone needs to tell him how to sign up! Oh, I guess I could do that . . . but he has been gone for two weeks and it seems we might have better things to do!

Yes Cap - I'm Barbara. And Lansdale is only about 15 minutes away. Boy you guys are chatty! I was looking at an upgrade thread and saw that someone had been upgraded from a category 3 to the Roy O Disney suite. How sweet (suite) is that! My son is salivating over those suites. We have the coldest temperatures in 10 years here, so I'm looking forward to some warmth.

Dean - my daughter might lime out green you. She astonished me with the amount of lime green clothes she produced from her closet. AND YES SHE HAS GREEN SHOES. Not quite as limey as yours but very close. She wears a 9 1/2 or a 10 (at 13! - must be feeding her too well) so you might be able to trade.

Have a great day.

The4OfUs

And those of you nearby too, like Barbara!!

From the National Weather Service:

Extremely dangerous wind chills will drive into the region late this afternoon or evening and continue into late Friday morning. For many locations, this will be record shattering chill, possibly rivaling the coldest January temperatures on record in the Worcester and Boston areaChill values are expected to linger in the 25 to 45 below zero range for several hours, the worst between 3 AM and 9 AM Friday. These values can produce frostbite in just 10 or 15 minutes. . If you dont have to travel or be outside late tonight or early tomorrow, then stay indoors. For a few areas in Eastern Massachusetts this May be the most severe wind driven cold in 40 years, dating back to January 15 1957. If you must go out tonight and Friday morning, dress warmly and if traveling in your car, Carry extra warm clothing and blankets, just in case. Also your cell phones should be freshly and fully charged to operate properly in this unusually frigid outbreak. Even for Northern New England this airmass is 25 to 30 degrees colder than normal!

UGH. When is that cruise again? If we're frozen popcicles, will someone come gets us so we can thaw out?? *sob*

G'morning, Barbara!

That's cool about your daughter. Make sure she joins in the conga line at the terminal. Let's see, it will be me, then Karyn, then your daughter. Yep, that works. http://users.pandora.be/eforum/emoticons4u/music/musik13.gif

Then, we got the Hustle, the speedo samba. Whew, we are really going to need to partake (1 : to take part in or experience something along with others <partake in the revelry> <partake of the good life> 2 : to have a portion (as of food or drink) 3 : to possess or share a certain nature or attribute <the experience partakes of a mystical quality> transitive senses : to take part in) in an umbrella drink.

The 4ofus - I think it's so cool that you grew up on ships. I hope I have the right person. I met a woman this weekend that worked as a pursor (sp?) for 5 years on a cruise ship. I can't remember the line (we were watching the Eagles game and drinking). That's my new retirement goal (working on a cruise ship - not drinking. Well, actually drinking too). Travel the world and get paid for it.

Yep, that's me - the thing is I didn't CRUISE on them, but we spent many entire weekends running around the ships while docked in NYC as my dad restocked the photographers and helped with printing of reprints and such.

My Opa (Grandfather in Dutch) was captain of a cruise ship.

Last night was the first time my mom shared a real story about her experiences working on board, which I shared many pages back on this thread...I'm going to have to get her to share more!! She's so "proper" that the idea of her "partying" made me laugh thinking about it while brushing my teeth last night.

Nikki, the weather here in SE Michigan is not as bad as it was when we lived in Massachusetts. Judi and I spent our first 21 years in western Massachusetts. I'm from Williamsburg, up the road from Northampton, and Judi is from Amherst. We used to get much more snow there than we do in Michigan.

I can't believe they are asking you to conserve electricity in the middle of the winter. I would think A/C in summer would use much more power.

The4OfUs

I know Williamsburg and have lots of friends who attended U Mass Amhearst, including 2 brothers-in-law. :) BEAUTIFUL area, but yes, very cold, and VERY snowy.

I just re-read the article, and I stand corrected, it says that we need to conserve electricity as demand has reached an all time WINTER high.

It's so sad to see all the homeless people riding on the subway just to keep warm for an hour or so. :(

It IS cold here, to the point that breathing outside is pretty painful, but tomorrow is supposed to be our worst day - after that we should be ok. Tomorrow morning with windchill they are saying close to -45 deg F below...that's -42C to you guys.... :earseek:

We're considering trading in my car and DH's minivan to get something along those lines, although I think that one is priced out of our range. We're looking at a Toyota Highlander or Honda Pilot...with a third row seat to help cart the neighborhood around. And heated seats are a MUST, we had them in our Audi and I LOVED them.

I thought I'd do a "quick" check on the boards to get caught up and 45 minutes later, here I am... If Kelsey needs help looking after any little ones, I know Jaclyn would be thrilled to help out. Jaclyn turns 10 today... I can't believe it!!! It doesn't exactly make me feel young when my baby's in the double digits... I am giving her a gold ring that I got for my 10th birthday from my parents but I just exchanged the birthstone... When I was picking it up from the jewellers I saw a beautiful cinderella music box and she loves Cinderella, and I have disney on my mind, so.... she's getting that, too!
Karyn, I'm just not sure about this parasailing thing... do you mean you want to go in tandem? I don't know if two adults can do that or not... I don't want to book it ahead of time for a couple of reasons - first being that I am a total wimp and might chicken out; second that if the weather isn't "perfect", then I might be a total wimp and chicken out... third, I might just tell Randy that I went while he was in the washroom (oops, Randy I meant a different Randy... I would never do that to you..):smooth:
Kim, I think Paradise Beach sounds wonderful, too... I'm really looking forward to that!!
I guess this could have been lots of posts, but unfortunately, I have to get back to work...
Have a great day everyone...

What a beautiful present!

I know what you mean about the double digits....it makes you so sad doesn't it. I don't think it ever ends...my mom lost it when my brother turned 35...and she told me she doens't want me to turn 40 (her and me both!! *grin*) - said there's something about certain birthdays for your kids that just gets to you.

I know Kelsey would LOVE to have someone else to hang out with, we could have our own little group of "mommy's helpers" here! ;)

Kim, have fun at Lion King tonight! MIL told me that it's AMAZING, let us know what you think! She also mentioned it's quite similar to the show in AK - have you seen that? We did, and I wonder how alike they are!

I know my mom has been wanting to see it for a while and I kept thinking that we should plan a trip to Toronto to go, but it hadn't happened yet. I think she will enjoy our girls night out.

Nikki, we did see the one at AK last April. I really enjoyed it! Luke enjoyed it, but started to squirm toward the end. I can't believe how many people who can't believe that I am not taking him to tonight. I knew he would never sit through it!

Think that's cutting it close?

Tony & I went on a cruise for our honeymoon way back when. We were in San Juan wandering around and ended up in this bar, upstairs, down an alley. We followed some really great jazz up there. Turned out one of the ships musicians was playing in a local band he jammed with whenever he was in town. He said he'd keep track of the timel he knew how to time it so he made it back in time. So, we started drinking with him in between sets. Little glasses, lime juice, mezcal(sp), Ohhhh Margarittas! Finally he wanders over and says, "We better go." We get to the bottom of the stairs and he says, "We better run." So we ran with him all the way to the ship. We were the last ones on. They pulled the gangway up behind us. Turns out he did that all the time and had been left behind at least once! Better carry a watch and don't trust a local or cruise ship employee with your return!

BTW - our one and only DCL cruise, NYE 2000, we saw a famliy that had to be tendered out to the ship as it left the harbor. I think it was in St. Maarteen, may have been St. Thomas. It was pretty exciting!

Please forgive my last post. So, I'm not a DIS board expert. Please just laugh at me and leave it at that!

Gotta go shovel the ridge the plow just made again! After that awful post I should be give a time out from the list.

Cap - Congrats on the car. That Volvo SUV is what DH says I should take a look at. For now, I need that 8-seater people mover people affectionately call a "mini-van". I hate that name.

Kim - have a great time at the Lion King. I bet it is just mezmerizing.

I had to stop because my eyes were crossing and I was talking to myself, in person and on the board:rolleyes: that's 'boarding' even to me!
I don't think I'll be able to meet you, unfortunately, because the rest of our 'grand gathering' will be here by then and we will be entertaining them, sorry! We'll have to do it on board when they are busy doing their own thing! Thanks for the invite though.

auntrenae offered up a good suggestion, IMHO, to add to our list. That is adding a cell phone number in case anyone wants to get in touch with one of the others on the list while we're in Florida. This would be strictly voluntary and by all means, if you aren't comfortable about giving out your number, please don't. If I get a number from you I will assume you have no problem with it being added to the list.

I'll plan on posting the list again tomorrow and then once more during the week of Jan 26th, before we depart.

Karen, Karen, Karen...
How could you think it's ever cold here?
It's a sunny 73 today and supposed to be that way the rest of the week, but I don't know for next week. I'll try to hold the sun here so we can all wear cool weather clothes to play in!
Actually, I'm enjoying wearing a sweater to work in the morning, and having my car window down on the way home, just because I can:Pinkbounc I moved to Orlando because of this kind of weather. I had been cold for many years in Utah, and this is HEAVEN! I'll save some of it for all of you::yes::

Fpr those of you who want to bring back shells, they don't want us to bring them onboard or sand either, it's hard on the carpets, but that's not to say I haven't done it...
At CC we have 'taken out the trash' for some octopi before and brought them onboard in DH's swim trunk pockets. Octopi put there shells in front of their holes in perfect semicircles, and none are broken that I can see. It's a great story for you to tell the kids at home about how you got them!
I agree totally about Sanibel::yes:: We went for our anniversary 2 years ago and brought back 10 GALLONS of shells! We were picky at first, just picking up the perfect ones, then as our backs got tired from doing the 'Sanibel stoop' we just threw them in a bucket and waited to get home to clean them and sort them. It's amazing that so many get washed up on that beach, but what a bonanza!:hyper: I have enough now to do shell flower arrangements for years to come, and I have my eye on a shell mirror frame! Oh yeah!!!
BTW, I collect sand from every beach we go to. I keep it in Tic Tac containers labeled with the beach and the date, and on a spice rack in the bathroom. It's a great reminder of our fun times.

Barbara,
The niece count is at 28 and the nephew count is 25. My DH has 5 brothers and I, with steps, adopted, foster, and birth, have 16 siblings. That makes for a big family, but most of mine don't know each other well because of the family shuffle. It is fun, though, and once my DH and I became CM's, they began to come out of the woodwork! I love it::yes::

I really did have to go shovel the driveway. I'm not quite done yet, but I'll finish some time tonight.

Now I have to tend to my younger children. Older DS (Nick), is now back at school. Big decision, but I must feed the little buggers or they will start chewing on the furniture.

I think we already talked about this a bit, but was just wondering what pets people have and what they do with them when they travel.

We have a 1 yr old Jack Russell Terrier courtesy of my sons girlfriend. (Don't ask!) Got her pretty unexpectedly, but we just adore her. She came from Florida and has had quite a tough time adjusting to the cold. Brrr!!!!

We take her to a kennel all the way in Metamora, MI! An hour and a 15 minutes away for anyone who knows the area. It sounds crazy, but the owner is a JRT owner & trainer and is great with my dog. She also gets an individual 5'x25' dog run when she is there and they also have her "play" with other dogs. She has a blast when we are gone.

Oh, her name is Hetti. Named after the lead singer of Metallica, James Hetfield. No, I didn't name her. If you don't know who that is, go ask your kids. :teeth:

Although it's nowhere near the warm weather that Renae is experiencing, we are having some pretty good weather here for January - it's hovering around 0 C (32 F)... everything's melting, I hope it stays like this until we leave...

My wonderful hubbie is cooking dinner for Jaclyn's birthday supper - he is the greatest cook I know... she asked for Captain Crunch chicken fingers and fries... you need to wash it down with Pepsi... it's sooooo good but then we'll have to eat salad for a week...

We have two standard size wirehair dachshunds. They'll stay at home. We have a friend who will house sit. She spoils the dogs, even more than we do. We tried the kennel last October, but it is not good for our dogs. They are very people / child social, but if you walk on four legs, they do not like you. Thus being in a kennel with lots of other dogs did not work out well for them.

Sorry I've not posted much today -- it's been a very busy day.

OK! I finally got caught up with all the posts and I have to answer some questions!

We are JEDOKIDS! That is JErry & DOrie and the kids! We tried to think of our email that included everyone! That was funny and LOL!

We have a 1 year old Jack Russell too! His name is Dodger (my DH's favorite baseball team) and he is the love of our lives! He is staying home with our daughter's boyfriend. If we took him, he would be running around the boat & causing all kinds of trouble! He is crazy!!!

Our plans--
Staying in Chicago Friday night to be closer to airport-- everyone pray for no big snowstorms in Chicago!
Key West-- maybe the trolley-- our TA said it was cheesy!
Cozumel-- Fury Catamaran
Grand Cayman-- Stingrays
Castaway Cay-- open air cabana massage!!!

Any other questions?

P.S.-- Welcome Barbara!!! I was so glad to see that you also have a 16 yr. old son! I don't think that I have seen any others! I will have to look at Dean's newest list.

Hey Jerry and Dory and the kids, we're on the Fury with you guys! Cool!

Talked to Kelsey and she's thinking that ghost tour would be very cool... "Wicked cool" for all you New Englanders. ;)

It's -9 below outside, plus windchill - we're into the -35s with that. Kids stay home today, but I'll be going to work.

IM'ing with all sorts of strange shortcuts? LOL! FWIW, IMHO that's cool - actually that's gr8! <g> <<<<hugs>>>> to all!

Actually I stink at that as we avoid the "Hax0ring" type of talk on my discussion boards, but Kelsey is good at that!

We have 2 dogs, Rebel and Buddy - right now we're watching them closely because there's a coyote in the neighborhood and many have lost kitties. :( So no more solo walks for the doggies. Rebel is a "mutt' - part Yorkie, part Lhasa Apso, much abused inthe past (all legs broken, starved), but we've had him since we adopted him in 1990!! They THINK he was 2 then. Then we got Buddy this summer - a Silky Terrier, who is 10 mos old, and we just found out Buddy's new "sister" is born, and we get her (another Silky) in March. They are like Cap's - VERY social, so when Rebel isn't around, Buddy would be heartbroken.

They are both staying in a "puppy suite" at Best Friends - they are staying together. LITERALLY, it's a suite for them, with an upstairs bed area, a downstairs play area, and a "balcony" outside where they do their business. They ahve playtime everyday, as this place does doggie day care too...and Buddy is going to "Partake" of that. Rebel just wants to sleep, at his age. :)

OK, off to defrost in the shower and then freeze again heading into Boston. Ty keeps checking the listing of closings to see if he can find my WORK! *grin*

Sorry the paper is late this morning, Cap, took time to read it myself. Kinda got wrinkled.

Welsome Abusmommy glad you decided to joing this quiet little group of bashful folks. :teeth:

Pets: We have 2 cats; Taffy and Kitty. Everyone says Kitty is mine because she has an attitude. Doesn't care much for anyone except me. Personally, I can't see anything wrong with that!! Taffy was our daughter's cat that we adopted when she got two dogs and put her cat into a constant state of fear. Then, Cheri has a goldfish that just doesn't seem to care about anything. The cats seem to enjoy watching the fish but that's all the entertainment the fish provides.

Everyone make sure they tip-toe for a couple of hours this morning, Randy and Karyn are sleeping in. ;)

Have a great day - I'll post the list from the office later this morning.

Morning all! Well you got part of it right, Randy's sleeping in, Me, I got to get ready for a party tomorrow, besides, he's on Pacific time.

Welcome to abusymommy! Glad to have you aboard.

We're talking about pets now? I have 4 birds. At one point we had 9 but a few have passed on and my son, Collin, took the three cockatiels to Lexington KY with him. The will all be home to visit this weekend. Anyway, the birds are a totally plucked (neurotic) Eclectus parrot, Whimsey; a blue headed Pionus parrot, Quercky; a lovebird, Schnapps; and a Rosy Bourkes parrokeet that just gets called Rosy cause we never came up with a name for him - but he is the prettiest pink bird you ever saw. Whimsey is my pet - but he doesn't really have favorites, Quercky loves me most, the other two just sort of exist. Whimsey was so excited that Randy was home, he was talking and talking last night.

I'm excited that all my kids and Randy will be here this weekend for the party. I didn't do a very good job of inviting people, (so maybe nobody will come) but just having the family home one last time is so wonderful.

So busy day ahead. I have to call the registrar at Jill school and tell her ok by me that Jill graduates today. She's already turned n her parking pass and is a very happy and excited young lady today. Still haven't decided when to "give" her her present. I'll wrap it today after I get the mail and have more cards to add! In the evening tomorrow everybody pm her at PrincessAuroraInBlue. Or email her at trinityangeljb@aol.com, actually, you can do it anytime, but until tomorrow don't do more than congratulate her. Tomorrow night you can mention the cruise and welcome her to the board and onboard! We have been planning this for soooo long. I'm so glad I took Tiiiigergirl and everyone here's advice to join this cruise instead of the one leaving tomorrow!

wow, I'm feeling talkative!

Hi Everyone,

Welcome to abusymommy!

I've brewed a pot of Traverse City Cherry coffee over here if anyone would like a cup? If you're heading to work or to run errands I can sling a cup at you as you drive by.

As Cap said, it's pretty cold in Michigan. But sunny. The sunrise over our lake is georgous today. (That's where we went skating the other night, remember?)

Puppy suites sounds great Nikki. What we won't do for our pets. Our dog is crazy too Dorie. She is very sociable and loves everyone in our neighborhood. I have to be careful that she doesn't get out during the morning and evening rush b/c she runs to everyones houses to say "Hi". Last night my neighbor told me that Hetti ran over to see her one day recently. Ran at full bore to her car, jumped in her lap, kissed her like crazy, peed a little bit on her, and ran back home. Oh my gosh, I'm so embarassed. She thought it was really funny! No, we better not bring this dog on the cruise. You can take them on the QM2 though. :)

Jami - have a great party tonight!

We are very busy today. Heading to our homeschool collective today (there's something you didn't kinow about us, we homeschool!), then we are heading up to norhern Michigan to ski for the weekend. Gotta run a bunch of errands before and after classes, so won't be online much today. Will probably take the computer with me up norht though. It's attached to my hands anyway, so it has to go.

Have a great day everyone.

Seriously, without joking for a second, that was the LONGEST and most CROWDED subway ride I have EVER encountered, and I've been in Boston on "First Night" when everyone takes the "T" (our subway - MBTA shortened to T) - it was horrifying. At one point, I thought I'd have to get off, I have only been claustrophobic once, and it was in Disney - when I was little, on the 20,000 Leagues Under the Sea ride - they had to stop it - and this is what I felt like today. Apparently cars aren't running well (imagine that) and alot of people chose the T instead. Yay.

And walking the 2 blocks to work, where I am just off the waterfront, so the buildings make a GREAT wind tunnel...my feet HURT, all pins and needles. I'm using my coat as a blanket because my desk is next to a window....brrr...in an OLD mill building in downtown Boston/Chinatown. *sigh*

Hey Nikki,
Are you warm yet?

Yes, we homeschool. This is our 3rd year. We aren't aliens or anything. It started out to be for academic reasons and now it's just been so great for our family and the kids that we haven't stopped. Tyler would just hate me. I bring a couple of "school books" with us whenever we travel as well. Even if it's just to do reading practice. I am not a slave driver though. We have lots of time off and travel a lot so we've got to get the studies in when we can. Actually, I think we "carschool" more than anything else!

Tyler would SO not hate you, he's my "smartie pants" - he never stops learning. They both will have homework on this cruise - a journal to keep EVERY DAY, from both teachers (they are in 4th and 5th grade) and homework sheets, one per night at least.

Kelsey is also very bright - but she struggles with some things. The BEST thing we got her for Xmas - the "iQuest", by LeapFrog. She is into "gadgets" so it soothes that part of her (a teenage Palm Pilot almost!) but it makes her study social studies, math and science in a "quiz" like format, that she enjoys. And it's expandable up through the SAT's in high school!

Off to meetings for a few hours...ttys!

Well, all my morning meetings are cancelled because no one can get in - apparently all the subway trains (which here in Boston are not just UNDERground - you go above and below the ground several times on a variety of the lines) are frozen up, and in the way, thus the delays and the sardine like treatment we got this morning...so I'm just going to sit here and defrost by hugging my space heater..

Gail and I have two wonderful Burmese cats, Rolo, who I belong to, and A.J.(Almond Joy), who owns Gail. They are not spoiled (Yeah, Right!! ) and they are the best companions. This is coming from a person who if you told me 13 year ago I'd be a cat person I would have told you to stop smoking that Wacky Weed!!! They are very dog-like in that they follow you from room to room and are very social. They are also bed hogs!!! We have a cat sittter who also spoils "da boys" and keeps an eye on the house while we're gone.

I'm going to visit the Hat Guy tomorrow morning and I'm hoping he can give me a firm delivery date. I'll let everybody know.

I just accidentally posted this as a "new thread"...I HATE when I do that!

*ahem*

I was just browsing "some other" cruise discussion board, and I have to say how much I appreciate meeting you guys here. What a bunch of jerks. One woman was venting about her airline flights, and was very upset - and one guy's response?

"Don't go. That'll teach 'em".

....

Well, gee, Mr. Sunshine, thanks for the advice!

You guys are all treasures and I love chatting with you. Just wanted to share that.

Hey, no problem. The list is all done...grrrrrr http://users.telenet.be/eforum/emoticons4u/mad/boese069.gif.

I'll ask the question and post it later today instead. Yeah, that will work. http://users.pandora.be/eforum/emoticons4u/happy/1074.gif So, who's got early dinner seating and who's got late dinner sitting? Or, who's not eating for a week? Let me know and I will add the info to the list.

We have late and will join Karyn and family as tablemates. I've promised not to use my fingers, too often.

If I'm the only curious one then don't worry, honestly - (Nosy Nikki and all that...)

We're late seating too.

I realize with the rotations that we have a 33 percent chance of getting in the same restaurant as someone else with the same seating as us, but you never know, right?

...

*ponders*

It IS 33%, isn't it?

kmc33
01-16-2004, 11:20 AM
Well, if you want to get technical, it's 33-1/3% chance to be in the same dining room with someone in the same seating, i.e. late. ;)

We have early seating and have requested to be seated with my sister's family. She has made the same request -- to sit with us, that is. Or at least that's what she told me :earseek:

kmc33
01-16-2004, 12:38 PM
I was thinking about you guessing which rotation, Nikki and I was wondering if since your late seating, it could be any one -- although maybe not LAP since you have kids. I was reading Elijah's Grandpa's review and he mentioned they had APL, which surprised me since they didn't have kids. Then I realized they were late seating. But, who knows  I would think that early seating APL is a lot of kids. And late seating LAP is a lot of NO kids. So, perhaps anything is possible for the other roations and seatings.

When I was trying to get clarification on the Romantic Escape from Dreams Unlimited, the agent said that the dining coordinator had been helpful with setting up the dining rotation. So, if they take care of that with the package, looks like DSis will be eating with us whether she likes it or not. :p That was one of the points that I brought up when asking about the package -- since I didn't want to make a request which might change something already in place (and that has us together).

Hey! Good to see you Gina!!!

I just want you all to kow that I actually got my plane tickets! FER FREE! Randy's done so much traveling back and forth to Seattle that he had 2 round trip tickets available on Southwest so Jill and I are all set to come in on Thursday 1/29 staying at the Boardwalk Inn (not villas this time) and Randy will be joining us at about 7 am on Friday taking a red-eye on Alaska Air on Thursday night. He thinks he'll need a nap before the Illuminations cruise. We're all heading back (to Chi and Sea) on Sunday afternoon.

I'm getting the details figured out. Need a car now! A limo for Saturday.

I'm having loads of fun wrapping Jill's docs in progressively larger boxes. Waiting for the mail to see if anymore cards or postcards make it today.

We've decided to wait till tomorrow to give it to her when the whole family is here.

Oh, and yup, late dining w/ Cheri and Matt Heller (and I guess, Dean, too). If we all want to be on the same rotation we could descend on Dining changes all at the same time!

Well, that's all for now folks!

I saw the bear and it reminded me:

Ole went hunting with a Czech in the north woods of Minnesota. They somehow became separated and by the time Ole retraced his trail, the Czech had been attacked by two bears and eaten.

Nearby observers called the authorities who arrived on the scene and wondered which of the bears had eaten Janek.

Ole advised them to slaughter the male, which they did. When Janek jumped out of the bear’s stomach, the game warden asked Ole why he was so certain.

“Becoss”, said Ole, “it’s yust like da old saying, da Czech is in da male."

To balance some of your "bad" days, I'm having a great day.

Judi and I went to our daughter's 1st / 2nd grade classroom to assist. She is teaching about plants and Judi planted bulbs in a glass bowl with stones / earth to force. The kids all helped and will measure progress each week, learn about the amount of water the plants need, write in their science journals, and learn about the blooms when they show up.

It's been a long time since I was with 20 six - eight year olds. It was a fun experience. After that Judi actually bought lunch for me. Nothing like a "free" lunch to make your day. I think the bright sunshine and clear, blue sky help also.

Judi talked to her dad in Naples, Fl, who said it was 80 F outside. I can't wait.

Dean,
Put us down for late seating. It was a hard choice, because my DMIL has diabetes and has to eat often, but we figured out a way for her to eat early and late if she wants to stay up that late. On our last cruise, we ate early one night because of another commitment, and it was so noisy with kids that we decided to stick to late seating from then on. That long, leisurely dinner is a perfect way to end a day::yes::

For whoever said they need a limo to get to the port, please let me know when you have it and how much it is? I usually just drive my car, but with 8 of us and all the luggage... I don't THINK SO!:earseek: Sheesh what a tight squeeze that would be! We're looking at a van or limo with a driver. I talked to Mears and it's $160 each way for the van and $200 each way for the limo. If we took 2 of our cars we would be able to do it for only $140 parking for the week. They charge $10 per day per car, so we don't know which we will do:confused: but I'll talk to that overworked, tired, sweet man of mine when I get a chance and ask him. We have early seating. Shhhh, don't tell anyone, but we already know our rotation: APLAPLA. Most of you guys already know about this and are sick to death about how we know that. Let's use code.....R.E.A.S.

Not to worry. If you don't like your rotation after checking in at the terminal, just check the Welcome Navigator for where you go to change it once you board. Renae, sorry to hear about your heel. I hope it's not too painful and doesn't interfere too much with your trip!

Tomorrow is Saturday and I have every reason to believe it will be a better day for me.

Tonight has gotten better already. Made my payment for the REAS. Requested our reservation times. Now just need to wait to hear back from Tammy to find out if my requests were available.

Judi - It's nice to hear you say that. I think my DH was overwhelmed by all the posts so he didn't get the chance to 'get to know' everyone. Although he is enjoying it vicariously through me and still likes hearing the stories. Oh, and when he heard me laughing out loud in here about the Speedo captians, he came to see what was so funny and got a kick out of that and Juli's new DH, Ken.

I think we had a different definition of co-chairs. What do you think, Gary?

I know when I meet Juli and her husband, I'm going to mess up and call him Ken. Think I can blame it on "old-timers"?

Remember to watch the Magic in port tomorrow. This is the last western excursion before we go!!

Juli, I don't know if cap mentioned it, but we have 2 standard wire haired Dachshunds, Woody and Tasha. We have a housesitter coming, a young woman from our congregation. We used to have our daughter, but she teaches all day, and works on the weekends too. We have put them in a kennel them, but we would rather not. At home, because we have an invisible fence, they can go out through their doggy door and run around whenever they want.

Well, Judi, I've been called a lot worse by a lot more? :) This thread was started by Tiiigergirl, way back when. As more people found it they joined the conversations. Some dropped out as final payments were due to pick different dates, or whatever, before losing their money. We booked many months ago, and I found this board and lurked for quite a while before barging in. Gary, Gail and Karyn were there and good enough to answer my silly questions. Then, Karyn started hopping across the country so I had no one else to tell me to be quiet, so I wasn't. It's a fun spot to come to and meet friends with whom we are going to spend a week so we all enjoy it.

Did I avoid your question well enough?

See everyone late tomorrow - have to work all day tomorrow because of the Monday holiday. Cheri and I will be at the parties, but might be a little late. G'nite.

Hey everyone,
Thanks for the show of support and the offer to be carried everywhere::yes:: I could go for that::yes:: ! Actually, it started on my Oct. cruise from dancing with DS Ben, who is a college dance major, and he danced me into the floor every day! (How can you say no to your 21 year old when he asks you to dance?) Anyway, when I told my Dr. that I was going again, he forbade me to dance this time. It is painful but only if I do crazy things like dance, walk too much, or go barefoot. I'll be fine, but won't have all the fun I wanted to... at least I'm in a great place to relax! My excursions will mostly be in water or on a boat, so it's no problem to stay off it for the most part. Thanks loads for your caring, you are like a big family! Big hugs to all!!!

Thanks to everyone for the welcome. I have been tending to a little guy with a cold, as well as trying to get rid of mine. Thought it was probably a good idea we got a cold a week ago, so that we are less likely to get another cold (knock on wood) during the cruise.

I'm new to these boards and have no idea what I'm doing so bear with me. Is there a thread that gives advice for newbies?

We've been to Disney many times, but never have been on a Disney cruise (have been on others before our son was born). We have been reluctant to go on the cruise with our son, because he is our little independent wanderer and we were afraid to leave him at a kids club for fear he would wander away. Guess we are paranoid first time parents! I was talking to a co-worker and he told me all about the Oceaneers club, after having been on it with his kids, and I felt a lot more comfortable. SOOO, we are going!!!

We live in Lemont, Illinois (just outside Chicago). My husband (Jim) and I (Mary Jo) are going with our 3 1/2 year old son (Paul). We have late seating.

Would love to get together with everyone if an onboard event is planned. Hope to see you all!

Good Morning!

It looks like I'll be up with the sunrise walk crowd today. Too much caffeine on the road last night.

Sorry to hear about the bad days, colds, heel spurs (ouch!). It's the weekend so hope you all get some rest and destress.

Hi Judi. My DH (Tony, please call him Tony :) ), is "retired" as well. I guess I am too. I use the term loosely b/c we are busier than we ever were when we were in corporate life. We are very blessed to have the life we do. Basically Tony had a vision for his life and made it happen. I always thank him for inviting me to join him. :sunny: Now if I could just keep up with him!

I am on a dial-up in the northern lower peninsula of Michigan for the weekend, so may not be online much. I will do my best.

Dean, I would love to be the Beer Tender. I can see with this crowd I may be pretty busy.

Well, I best see if I can get back to sleep. My family will want to go skiing today and they won't let me sleep in!

1) Do you live in the same state/town you were born and/or raised in?

2) If not, what brought you to the town you are in now? If so, what keeps you there?

Not expecting anyones lifes story or anything, just thought it was an easy "get to know you" kind of question. Of course, feel free to tell all if you are so inclined!

I should answer my own questions:

Tony & I were both born and raised in Michigan. We actually live on the same lot where he grew up. We bought his parents house, tore it down, and built a new one. My kids are the 4th generation of DH's family to live where we do! Tony's parents actually met through the two lots we have. His Dad's family had one and his Mom's family had another. They came out from the city to spend time on the lake and met as teenagers. I think that's a sweet story.

I've lived all over Michigan with a brief semester or two in Atlanta and Connecticut. I ended up in the Detroit Metro area b/c I transferred to Lawrence Technilogical University (Larry Tech). What's kept me here are family & work in that order. Now what's keeping me is that I'm chicken to move to a small town without a big city nearby.

We split our time between southern and northern Michigan. I suspect at some point we'll be moving north.

Whew! I didn't plan on writing so much.

Really? Do those really work? Our little Silky Buddy is not one for listening once "free" - I did clicker training with him and he's so smart he got it at once, but once outside, he's deaf to that. I'd love to have a system where I knew he was "safe" running around outside, because he loves that and the run we have is just not liberating enough...

*snicker*

Sorry. Too much coffee already. DH has been at work since 4 and I'm on my third cup. Dog has already thrown up on the carpet and gotten the tissue box. *sigh* At least it's warm!

I'll answer these, cool questions...

1. I was born and raised in Peabody, MA. My mom still lives in the house I grew up in (I lived in Holland from 1 mo till I was 6 mos old, then we moved back here to the same town I was born in, but different house). Peabody is about 20 mins that way *points*. Close enough but far enough away if you know what I mean... ;)

2. After high school I went to school in northern New Hampshire (Plymouth State College) where I met DH. My jobs took me back to MA, and then he realized he couldn't live without me *swoon* and moved down this way, towards Nashua NH, as taht was 1/2 way for my job and his new one. Then we decided on the whole marriage/kids thing, and looked at the places around southern NH/NE Mass (we did not want to buy in NH - property tax is OUTRAGEOUS as there is no state tax there, so they attack the property owners to make up for it). Westford has one of the very best school systems in the state - BUT is very "la-de-dah" so we had to search for a while to find what we could afford. We're the "poor" relations on a street of over 500,000 dollar McMansions...we have a 1960s ranch that we managed to steal for 149K...and we've been here ever since. We're 20 mins from Oma (my mom - grandma in Dutch) and his parents (until they move to FL) and we have great neighbors and we're all of 30 mins from Boston and 5 mins from NH - for that TAX FREE SHOPPING! *grin*

Bored yet? ;)

We've been on one Disney Cruise. I was really worried about my kids taking off from the clubs. They were 5 and had mastered the art of "you distract them while I get out" ploy. I talked to the club about this and it turned out to be a non-issue. They never escaped, but did try a few times. The club will beep you if there are any problems, even if your child just wants to see you. Some don't like that, they want the club to handle everything. I appreciated it. They didn't try to "parent" my kids and make the decision as to whether my kids really needed us or not. That made it so my kids always wanted to go back. Yes, I got beeped a lot at first, but it was easy to stop in and see what was going on and then head back to whatever we were doing. Now this time they will be 8. I don't suspect we'll hear much from the Lab when they are there. They kids won't want us to show up at all!

My MIL was so excited. She always hated their house. It was a small cabin that had been added on to and added on to over 30 years. It was sturdy, but a big hodge podge. I thought my FIL would be upset b/c he put so much blood, sweat, and tears into the house. He didn't bat an eye. Now they have a nice guest room to stay in when they visit. Too nice! They are coming in April for 2 weeks. Awk!

The day after my IL's retired, they were up at 5 am and moved to Tenn. They left enough junk in that house to fill a 30 yard dumpster and I am not kidding. I was pretty mad. Now we laugh about it. They've since moved to Florida and we visit them often to make up for it. LOL!

How great to be close to your family, but not too close. ;) All of our DB's and DS's live within driving distance but far enough that no one is over everyday. It works well.

I have been dying my hair for so long that I didn't even know it when I started getting gray hairs. That was a shocker. I've had every color you can imagine. Red heads and blonds do get the most attention. Tony swears my hair has been purple before. I don't remember that and I did not go through a punk phase. It was some lovely shade of red I'm sure.

Have fun today. I better take a nap if I have to go out in the cold.

See you tonight at the party!

Hi All! Anyone want to come over early to help? I have 5 bodies asleep in various locations around the house. My son's cat and I are the only ones awake.

Juli, where are you in upper-lower MI? I LOVE it so much up there.

Did you really want to ask that question about where we grew up???? Ok, I'll go: I was born in Fresno, CA, my parents lived in Madera, CA. When I was almost 7 we moved to Kabul , Afghanistan - my folks were MDs for the American community there. After 4th grade my folks left the US Embassy - we drove from Kabul to CA (well, a ship took us and our old 1960 Landrover across the Atlantic). We lived in Woodlake CA for about a year until we went back to Afghanistan where my folks established a medical work w/ the Afghan people. (I guess they thought the Americans over there were too healthy.) So I kinda lived there until I graduated from high school, if you don't count the year I spent in boarding school in Northern INDIA. When I was 18 I came to the States ALONE from Kabul. Went to college in Seattle. (My sisters were in Spokane - same state nowhere close! My folks both grew up in WA.) While I was in college my folks moved to Wheaton, IL, cause my sister was here at the time. I ended up here a year after college and swore I would get back to the Pacific Northwest ASAP. But i met Randy, he had his business, then there were kids . . .

Today Jill is done with high school. Derek, with college; Collin is happily ensconced at UKY in Lexington, KY and Randy has found a new practice - in Puyallup, WA! So I guess 27 years later, I'm on my way back to the Pacific Northwest.

My story, the short version!

Kabuli means someone from Kabul. it's pronounced cob-el-'ly with the emphasis on the last syllable. it's not, as most think, ka-'boo-ly!

Randy's story is more straight forward. Grew up in Detroit, went to Wheaton College in Wheaton IL never left. until now . . . And you all know that story.

Oh I got lots of highlights put in my hair this week, too. Has anyone done any tanning to get ready?

Dean, Gary, I thought that was the function of co-CHAIRS to carry people around on the chairs if they needed it.

You guys are early birds. Well, I guess during the week I am earlier, but it is Saturday. I thought I would take a quick peak before taking Luke to soccer class.

John and I grew up in the same part of Pittsburgh, and went to high schools very close to each other, but we didn't meet until college, at the University of Pittsburgh. After college, he took a job in Atlanta and me in New Jersey. Realizing that we just couldn't stand to be apart (and were tired of using all of our money on plane tickets) we both ended up back in Pittsburgh. He works for PPG Industries and I work for the CDC. We have been married for 13 years (in March).

As for Dean and I we came to Tiny Town (as Matt likes to call it) from Dallas, Texas area. What a change! We are from Omaha, NE, where we met in JR. High and have been married 37 years. Hey Karyn,
You mentioned Petoskey and Charlevoix earlier and I meant to tell you where we were. We have a place at the Boyne Highlands in Harbor Springs. We really like it up here and are wrestling with whether we move up here or not. Well, I'm wrestling with it. Tony is sure and it's just a matter of which community for him.

I adore Chicago. Detroit is such a disappointment after you spend even a minute of time in Chicago. My Great Grandfather was a Chiropractor in Chicago, but my Grandmother, hence my mother, settled in Detroit. Peter, John, and I spend a week in Chicago every summer. The last two anyway. They go to a camp at Northwestern. The camp is really an excuse to go there. We found a great place in Evanston that takes dogs, so Hetti goes along with us. Who knows if we'll go next summer, but I sure would like to.

Tanning & Highlights - hmmmm - how come no guys are jumping in here? I bought some sunless tanning stuff, but the test spot didn't look like it did anything. All I can remember is the orange stuff that was around when I was a kid. Ewww! I'll be very pale along with everyone else. I have an appointment for my hair next week, but no wild colors for me anymore. I've been going to the same woman for the last 16 years. She won't even listen to me if I ask for something wild. She just does whatever she wants. Kind of like a Hair Color Nazi. Her DH cuts my hair. It's turned into a social thing. :D

If I just remember Cabella's, like the store, I'll remember how to pronounce your screen name.

Can't help today. Gotta take the kids skiing. And if not that, I'm driving into Petoskey for a while. They have a great coffee shop that sells something called Zen. Triple shot of espresso with Cocoa and cinnamon. Yum! :crazy2: I'll pick up some for the party along with some fudge.

I wondered about the spray on tan, but Souix Falls is the the only place I know to go for that and it is 2 1/2 hours away. So there will be at lease two ghosts on ship.:bounce: Cheri

*phew*

LOL Thought I'd be the only one!

The problem with dry skin and the spray on stuff is that it starts to "shed" and then you have patches! No thank you...I'll take my chances. I'm from New England, what do they expect, right? ;)

Juli, I love Harbor Springs - we used to vacation there! sigh! Then DS#2 started having to go to a music camp in Door County, WI and we had to go there for vacations. I really am going to miss those places!

Sorry about the growing up thing, my only excuse is that I really had nothing to do with it - I just got dragged around by my folks.

I'm going to be a pale face - was thinking about a spray-on tan - but I'm a bit of a chicken!

It's cobble like a cobblestone street.

I'm getting ready for the party - everybody joining me?

Less spectators with that weather. Not as many tongues to wag. He should save it until tonight at Karyn's.

Um....Gary said that you were #1700. We don't argue with our leader. :jester:

Oh please don't apologize for your great history. I'm so glad you told us.

I would love to go to Door County! We've talked about sailing over that way, but haven't done so yet. Well, Tony's sailed to Racine a couple of times. I've taken the car ferry each summer between Ludington, MI and Manitowac, WI. Someday we'll go cruising up in that area. To heck with where the best camp is for the kids.....just kidding!

Thank-you for the phonics help. I'm hopeless. I'll just call you Karyn.

Will try and make it tonight. I'm using up all our dial-in hours now! We get 20/month "free" with our DSL account.

Ya know Kim, I wouldn't want to have followed Karyn either. You were very brave to do that. I think everyone has a story to tell about something in their life. It's fun hearing about where everyone is from.

Thanks for the support, Juli. I figured someone had to be first to follow Karyn :p

I'm just joking Karyn. I think it's really cool. The funny thing is, I am commenting that my background is boring, but I guess we are not doing anything that exciting that's going to make our DS's any less boring! Oh well. I guess boring can be good too.

I will join the snow white crowd. I with fair skin and red hair, I finally gave up on getting a tan (it took me until I was 25 to give up, though!) So, hopefully I will make it thought without developing skin cancer. I have thought about the self tanners too. But, I don't want to look orange. And I guess there are better ones now that don't make you look orange, but I am afraid I would still end up streaked. I wish there was somewhere you could go and step into a shower sort of thing and get instantly covered and evenly.

Anyway, I will be the one with the snow white legs, freckles and a hat! :earsgirl:

Hi, Kim!

I don't think we're supposed to call it a hat - it's now known as a toque, eh. I've been looking in the encyclopedia for what a toque, eh is but can't find anything. There's a plain toque without the eh which is a chef's hat. But, been looking everywhere for a toque, eh and haven't come up with a thing. What is it, Randy?

Answers to Dean's questions,

Long story short, (I hope)

I grew up in western WA. state, moved to Boise ID. at 16. Met Eric there(he's from Pocatello ID) at an old fashioned basket social (anyone know what that is?) decided we hated Boise, moved to Portland OR. because I was homesick, lived through St. Helens blowing up and decided we didn't like it after all, moved to SLC Ut., loved it, lived there for 20 years, raised 3 teriffic sons there, came to Orlando twice and decided being healthy was better than being sick in a place we loved, moved here, lived with heat and fun in the sun and teriffic winter weather, finally got the courage to apply to Disney and got jobs that we adore, now we cruise as often as we can and play at WDW a LOT! Whew! 24 years in a short paragraph!!! It's quite a ride, I can tell you:yo-yo:

On what Dean said about me having cruised a lot, this is our fourth trip on the Magic, and I am having a hard time even thinking of going on another ship, I hope they do do that 3rd ship so we can go somewhere like Hawaii or Alaska and still be on a Disney ship!::yes::
If you have questions about WDW or DCL, anyone here can answer, they are just being modest!

Karyn,
I grew up in WA, but I can't remember where Pullayup is... it's been a while... Where did your parents grow up? I miss the green world but not the rain. I REALLY miss all the fresh salmon, so I eat it as often as I can at sea (that maple glazed salmon on board is to die for::yes:: ).

Hi,
I have a shock for you northerners. I came here from Utah thinking I would end up tan, but noooooooooo, I started out with glow-in-the-dark skin and a few freckles, and now I'm still pale but my freckles have grandchildren! BUMMER! oh well, people who come in 'my' store all think I'm in my early 30's at the most! THAT I can live with *grins*

Good morning (er... afternoon)...

To answer Juli's questions...

Randy and I were both born and raised in Saskatoon and have never lived anywhere else... don't know any better I guess... we both went to the same high school but at different times, and lived a block from each other when growing up but didn't know each other... We also both worked for the same employer (both municipal government workers) but didn't know each other... Then, we finally met at a conference...I am now working as a staff representative for a national union and Randy is politically active with our union - working full time in the political arena...
So Juli, if you need to negotiate good working conditions as the beer tender, we'd be happy to help you out...

Juli

Juli and The4ofUs....Thanks for your feedback on the safety issue. I'm glad to hear from so many people that they won't let him "wander" out. Also, that they will page us if he needs or wants us. I think that you're right, kids test you to see if you'll be there when they need you. I think once he knows that we are only a call away, he'll be fine. Otherwise, we'll just get a lot of exercise running back and forth to the club!!

Dean! I think you are right; I misspoke. I will be the one with freckles and wearing my toque.

According to Webster's:
toque, n. a woman's small round hat, with or without brim.
Does my DIS hat qualify as a togue.

Now on dictionary.com the following definitions are listed:
toque
n.
1. A woman's small, brimless, close-fitting hat.
2. A plumed velvet cap with a full crown and small rolled brim, worn in 16th-century France.

toque
\Toque\ (t[=o]k), n. [F. toque; of Celtic origin; cf. W. toc.]
1. A kind of cap worn in the 16th century, and copied in modern fashions; -- called also toquet.
2. (Zo["o]l.) A variety of the bonnet monkey.

toque
n : a small round hat worn by women [syn: pillbox, turban]

... I forgot to mention that I will also be snow white - I had planned to do the tanning booth thing but haven't had time so I'll be bringing lots of heavy duty SPF with me... Now my dear hubby and daughter are another story... they will have a wonderful tan after being in the sun for half an hour.... While I freckle and burn, they just get dark.... It's not fair!!

Jaclyn got highlights in her hair a couple of weeks ago and I'll be doing the same just before we leave... I'll be adding some curls, too since my hair is sooooo straight it needs as much help as I can give it...

Mary Jo, I meant to chime in on that earlier and forgot. This will be our second DCL cruise. On the first my DS was 3 1/2. No problems or concerns that he would get out. They were very secure. I think maybe we had a password to pick him up. But I can't remember now for sure. Now Luke is 4 1/2 for this trip. He had a ball with the kids and is looking forward to going again.

Kim, I found all of those definitions. But, I couldn't find anything that ended with "eh?" So, in otherwords, I need to find the definition of "toque, eh?". It would be great if you could post a picture. I need to see if I can keep my speedos tucked under a "toque, eh?" until needed for a spur of the moment party. OK?

I searching (the search function is working today!) to see if I could find out what movies are currently showing on the Magic.

Someone going on the January 24th Magic cruise called DCL and got this list:

Chicago
Lizzie McGuire
Finding Nemo
Pirates of the Carribean
Spy Kids 3 (I think that was what she said)
Freaky Friday
Cold Creek Manor
Under the Tuscan Sun
Veronica Green
Brother Bear
Haunted Mansion
Calendar Girls

According to a January 10th cruiser, here's the list on TV in the cabin:

Radio
Matchstick Men
Uptown Girls
Seabiscuit
Good Boy
Out of Time
Chicago
The Fighting Temptations
Runaway Jury
Holes
The Medallion
Secondhand Lions
S.W.A.T

Animated movies...

The Tigger Movie
Toy Story 2
Beauty and the Beast
Monsters Inc
Lilo & Stitch
Peter Pan
Fantasia 2000
The Black Cauldron
Dinosaur
The Jungle Book
The Little Mermaid
Mulan
The Sword in the Stone
Pinocchio

That's some list! Luke is not going to want to leave the cabin!! I guess for ours it might be a similiar list. I was wondering if that new one, Teacher's Pet will be showing.

HI Everyone!
Dean- Thanks for the magnets-- we got them today! Very Speedy! You are so sweet to send them to us! They will be great souveniers after the cruise. Dean-- when will you take the DCL bus to the cruise terminal? It would be so fun to be on the same bus with you!

To answer the questions-
I am tanning so that I don't burn the first day! I have an appt. to get my hair colored next Friday-- no highlights-- just to cover the greys! I think I am getting my nails done too!

Gotta go to work & make more money for the cruise!

Welcome busymommy & Julie

Congrats to Princess Jill!

Annie-- my DH is involved in the union too and has been a union pipefitter for 24 years! L.U. 597 Chicago

Just so you all know--all the jedokids posts are from Dorie- I am tanning, coloring my hair, etc. -- not Jerry!

Gary-- we will be like neighbors on the cruise-- we are back to back -- we are in 7503! So not too much noise with that headboard!!! http://disboards.com/newreply.php?s=&action=newreply&threadid=351441#

Dorie - I wish I could run with you on deck 4 but I'm not in good enough shape (yet!) - I run for about 2 minutes, then walk for 5, then run for 2, then walk for 5, then run for... hey, where are those comfy blue deck chairs???

Welcome Jill!! It's been great cheering on your mom to keep the secret...

We rebooked on board last year... what you save is that you get a $200 onboard credit for your next cruise... you can transfer the reservation at any time to a travel agent so you can shop around to get the best deal, then transfer the ressie, and still get the $200 credit... We transferred our reservation to Dreams Unlimited while we were onboard since we have been really happy with them...

Dean, I think we can find you a toque, eh, that will have room for your speedo...

Kim - sounds like some good movies are onboard... last time we didn't get to the movie theatre at all and I'd like to go to at least one movie...

I'm glad you like them! I'll be on the very first bus, if at all possible. I'm a fairly early riser so I'll probably be in the lobby waiting on the driver by 4 AM. Maybe if I bring him a cup of coffee we'll leave before 8:30-10:00. http://techhelpers.net/e4u/drink/trink01.gif. Sorry, Cap, you'll have to get your own paper that day. Priorities y'know? And, I actually am very quiet and reserved. If it weren't for my lime green, you'd probably never know who I was.
I have an appt. to get my hair colored next Friday-- no highlights-- just to cover the greys! Ha! In my case, not worried about coloring the grey just having enough hair left to color. http://e4u.deltait.com.au/dressed/bek181.gif

I'm glad I like hearing myself so much. Now, remember, I am in a township that has 400 permanent residents. The nearest "town" is 6 miles away(Harbor Springs). That's close, but everythings closed up by now. The next town is 10 miles away(Petoskey). I've already been there once today. It's pretty quiet there tonight.

I'm heading to Karyn's!
