Okay guys, we're almost there! I'll bump us up a post!

I'll be here until Friday but I vote for Renae to close us out.

What do you say Renae:Pinkbounc

If there's any way I could get a lime green crew toque, I'd love one. But Dean may really wish that we wrastle for it once we are on the boat! I'm a bit rusty, but I'll give it a go.

I'm Packed! I'm Packed!! I'm Packed!!! I'm Packed!!!! Hooray! It only took me until the NIGHT BEFORE to do it, but it's DONE and sitting by the door! I have jsut about everything done- my room is almost completely finished- like the rest of my house- just needs some last minute packing before the move (Except my move is only about 15 minutes away, not cross-crountry!!) I'm done packing, I had beautiful Senior pictures taken today... I'm feeling good- Everything's done! The only thing i'm dreading is Waking up around 3 or 4 AM tomorrow, then traveling (Plane & car), then an OVERNIGHT visit (those college folk stay up laaaatehttp://users.pandora.be/eforum/emoticons4u/sad/1381.gif*whimper*http://users.pandora.be/eforum/emoticons4u/sad/1381.gif) Just think: We'll be cruising in about 4 days!! I'm ready to get rid of this horrible snow and bask in the sunlight! Well, i'm out for now- this MAY be my last post before we take off- so If it is, thanks a bunch for everything- DIS is a world of it's own!! Take care- travel safely- and i'll see everyone soon!!

Sorry, age has brought me a little bit of wisdom. I learned the only one I want to wrestle for ANYTHING is Cheri - even if it means losing out on a special toque.

Way to go, Karyn - CONGRATS ON NUMBER 2,500!!!!!

Hey, Bobby - we did it - we reached your goal of 2,500 before we all left.

OK, we have a nomination and a second. Any further names to be placed in nomination or any further discussion on the floor of the name submitted before the co-chairs consider the nominations?

OKWMEMBER
01-27-2004, 08:46 PM
As the other co-chair, I third the nomination and hereby and therefore appoint Renae as the officially person to turn out the lights, make sure the iron is off, check for running water, turn off the gas and whatever else you do before you leave the thread/home person!!!

Motion carried, Book'em Dan-o, Golly Bob-a-Howdy, Vern!!!

Juli, I'm the one with the bucket hats and I'll reserve a Lime Green one for you!!!

Dean, I'm going to dial you up shortly.

Hey Gary, how come you're calling Dean and not me???

I was just talking to Renae! We're going to try to see her tomorrow at the store!

Na-na-na-na, I got to talk to Gary and you didn't. Na-na-na-na.

You need to get up early, no time for sitting around with froofroo drinks waiting for phone calls, eh? Just be careful in the morning, okay. Besides, I'd hate to have to find new tablemates at this late stage of the game. :teeth:

Yes, dear friends, I'll be the last one out, feed the dog, lock the door, stop the mail (most important for us) stop the paper, wash the windows, and clean the house like a crazy woman! Unless, as Karyn says, someone will be the last to post from the board, then I'll be talking to myself Friday night!

Cap,
Sorry to disappoint you with the drinks, that's what I have! I did say my lemonade was fresh squeezed and really good, doesn't that float your boat? If not, sorry! I'll make it up to you with hot chocolate souffle', how does that sound??? How about some maple glazed salmon? It's a secret family recipe... not mine, but hey I can have some sent to your table.... how about that?

First, thanks to Dean, Barbara, Gary, and everyone else who has made this "soap opera" so interesting over the past several months. It really is great to start the vacation so early via these boards.

To everyone who has not finished packing - remember you may get some cool, but not cold, weather. We're in Naples, FL now and today has been cloudy, windy, and in the high 60's. While it wasn't cold, Judi wanted to wear a light sweater outside.

We've just finished rearranging the clothes, so all the winter things we don't need until after we finish the cruise are in one suitcase.

Karyn, moving is good for you. It helps to clean out the "house arteries', by forcing you to get rid of stuff you've been saving, but will never need.

Dean, the top five things to remember to do are:
1 - Don't miss the plane
2 - Don't miss the plane
3 - Don't miss the plane
4 - Don't forget your credentials (passport or birth certificate / ID).
5 - Don't forget your cruise docs.

Everything else can be bought or done without, even Speedos.

dheller97
01-27-2004, 09:28 PM
We were just wondering how you are doing after your doctor's visit yesterday. Just don't forget, we are still here for a couple of days if you need someone to talk to or even if you need someone to knock around a little bit http://e4u.deltait.com.au/sport/sport25.gif

Someone asked about my post from Sunday about a long Ethernet cable. To my knowledge, there is NOT internet access in the rooms on the ship. I was in a hotel and complaining that they had put the Internet access on the opposite wall from the desk, and that my 10' cable did not reach. This will be the first time we've been "home" to Boardwalk since they install the Internet access there, so I won't know until tomorrow if the connections are appropriately placed.

Shannon, I think they let people on the cruise if they are coughing. However they clearly will NOT let anyone on who has, or mentions, any symptoms of an intestinal visus, even if you just ate a bad hot dog. They are very scared of the Norwalk virus. It's kind of like security at the airport - don't even joke with they about being sick, or they will not let you on board.

Cap
01-27-2004, 09:49 PM
Team, Really great job on the posts. We cleared 2500. Just think, at one time we were trying to get to 1600, and then thought we might make 2000 total before the cruise.

Isn't it wonderful what we can accomplish through a little bit of teamwork and cooperation.

Thanks again to everyone for the humor, tips, feedback, and general support. See you on the cruise.

Cap and ArtistJudi.

Dean,

While you will be gone next week, did you ask to have space reserved on the front page the following week for your Disney Cruise Review article. I think a nice picture you in your Speedo would probably improve the newspaper circulation in the 13 paper area in SD. If you forgot, who can I call at the printing plant to have them standby for late breaking news?

01-27-2004, 09:54 PM
Renae, stop it, you're making me hungry!

Cap, moving is good for me like all kinds of other nasty things my mom said were good for me?

Sniff, Gary called Dean and not meeeeee, wah!

ok, then, I'm going to take my toys and go to Florida!

Have a good night boys and girls! I'll try to post before I leave in the morning! Nikki, you'd better be right about the weather!

everyone who is flying out tomorrow, please be safe on the way. It's time to roll out that old post office motto, neither rain nor snow nor dark of 'early morning' will stay us from our all important cruise!!! Tell the pilot of your plane that you have a lot of people waiting to see you who might get really mad if you aren't there with toque and speedo on, so they better do a good job getting you here!
Take care everyone,
Renae

Karyn, sorry about making you hungry, I didn't mean to, honest!
Congrats on getting the 2500th post too! Renae

Cap-Sorry, I've told the crews that they are to ignore any "stop the press" requests from anyone until I get back. By that time, our cruise will no longer be news, it becomes an archive and heads to the morgue with the other "old" news. Sorry because a photo of a bunch of guys with torques and speedos would be a front page grabber in most of our neighboring communities.

Okay now you've got me panicking...You are all packed and heading out? I have a guest bedroom full of clothes, no list and no spare time to pack. Looks like I'll be staying up Thursday night. We are only leaving on Friday morning.

We won't have any lime green shirts or Toque but I'll sure know to spot you guys !!

We got 25" of that white heavy stuff, some icing rain. DH is NOT a happy camper right now. Had to shovel 3 times today for 1.5 hour each time.....Not a happy Jimmy!!!

Good Night.

dheller97
01-27-2004, 10:49 PM
Not to fret Nancy. We're sticking around here until Thursday. Thought I'd even get a haircut before leaving. Might even splurge and get them both cut.

I bet there will be several not in lime green either. The difference is they just aren't too sure if we REALLY will show up in speedos and toques and don't want to be associated until they are sure. :)

25" of snow and well, well below zero temps would make anybody an unhappy Jimmy, eh?

See you soon!

Awww, this is so sad!! We're all saying our goodbyes... when we haven't even met yet!! Granted, most of you have been talking for months and months and months and i've only had a week and a half... but still!! Just think, if we've all grown this attached to each other thru the INTERNET, think of how attached we're going to be after a week of physical interacion!! It'll be crazy!! Lots of tears on the 7th thoughhttp://users.pandora.be/eforum/emoticons4u/sad/1381.gif

Well, it's 11 now, and i have to be awake and out the door in about 5 hours, so i think i'm going to get as much sleep as i possibly can! Everyone Travel Safely- Be careful in all that snow and Ice and i'll see everyone in *gasp* a few days!!! We are winding down now!! To those of you who have left, Karyn, Jill, Mike, Randy, Annie… and anyone else sorry I missed you. See you on the ship!

I didn't factor 'shovel time' into my schedule this week, so I am behind on packing!! I too have a pile in the guest room right now. Hope to get more done tonight (packing, not shovelling!) Go away snow!!!

I am trying to wrap up things at work and need to take DS to two appointments this afternoon.

And by the way, I think Randy left, but in case he checks in, I thought this was hysterical!!!

Nikki, did you know you can do the mail stop online? It's works great. Go to usps.com. Click on Receive Mail and Packages on the blue bar at the top. And then, third column select, Put mail on hold. I just did mine yesterday. Good Luck!

Good morning - everyone was busy last night. Have a safe trip dizdad, Karyn & Jilly. Glad you're already in Florida, Juli. Don't you just love when kids get their hands on their suitcases? Little darlings. I'm trying to get mine to start packing their own, but they take half their rooms every time!! And I thought I overpacked.

Someone was talking about making a conscious decision to overpack. That's me too. I like choices at the end of the trip.

Cap - good to hear from you again. Thanks for the advice. All-knowing 16 year old DS won't listen to any advice from mom about his cold because, gasp, she knows nothing.

No school again today. I'll be working from home today again. Sigh, what a luxury. It almost makes up for all those weekend emergency calls. Almost, but not quite. We got another 4 inches or so. Friday has a 30% chance of snow.

Nikki, I couldn't get to your first site, but you look great in the second. You're not bringing that dress?

I have to make my list of things I don't have packed yet, or something will get left behind. I keep forgetting about the bubbles.

Ranae, so good of you to turn out the lights.

Dean - 2 miles an hour times how many miles? Whew, maybe I should have used the cruise money to buy my own snowblower.... Nahh.

KofPShannon
01-28-2004, 08:12 AM
Kim - I do my mail stop online too.

Randy & Annie - forgot to tell you safe trip too.

When do we turn the countdown from days to hours? I'm counting down from leaving work at 5 on Friday. The flight's not till 7:30, but everyone knows what fun it is to be frisked at the airport. Tickle tickle..hee hee. You want me to take off what?

Seriously, I can't decide whether to do my countdown to flight time or departure time? Departure wins...it's closer. Let's see that's 44 hours and if I wait one more minute....44 minutes.

Nikki, I couldn't get to your first site, but you look great in the second. You're not bringing that dress? I agree. And I really like that dress too.

Barbara - I had trouble with Nikki's link too. Click on it again and then take the comma off the end and you can get to it.

Nikki - Great site! I really like it. You have a nice family. I am looking forward to meeting you. I saw that you live in Westford. I have a friend who I was living outside of Boston, and I think it might have been Westford, but she moved to Virginia not long ago.

Barbara - We are just on the other side of the state from you. Looking forward to meeting you too.

I am looking forward to meeting everyone!!!

I am just so excited that I am not sleeping too well either! We have cruised before, but this is the first time that we are going on a cruise and I have met so many people online before hand.

And we had the pleasure of meeting Gary and Gail last September at Universal. Looking forward to seeing you again!! This is great!

I hope the weather won't interfer with our flight on Friday!!! :earseek:

My DD will be wearing lime green pants, lime green tee shirt and green shoes :tilt: when we arrive at the airport around 9:30 Friday night. If anyone else is getting in to Orlando around then, keep an eye peeled for us. (You might need sunglasses :cool2: for looking at that outfit.) My DS plans on wearing shorts under his snap away sweat pants and then....rip off the pants when we get to Florida. DBF and I will be walking as far away from them as possible  so no one thinks we're with them. (Isn't it supposed to be that the kids don't want to be seen with the adults?)

KofPShannon
01-28-2004, 08:47 AM
Kim - I spent my first 2 years of college at California University of PA with a lot of people from the Pittsburgh area. In the 70s, I lived for a short time in Evans City, Zelionople (sp?), Seneca, Oil City, Franklin, Meadville and Erie. I moved back across the state in 1980. I might have Karyn beat for number of times moving, but none of my locations were as exotic as hers.:earsgirl:

kmc33
01-28-2004, 08:49 AM
(Isn't it supposed to be that the kids don't want to be seen with the adults?) That's my understanding. Since DS is only 4, I am enjoying him wanting to be with me while it lasts!! How long until he starts telling me that he hates me?! :(

Our flight is due in around 6:00 pm on Friday evening. If we are delayed, I will keep my eyes peeled in the airport.

Where are you staying the night before, Barbara? It looks like many are staying at the Hyatt. If I remember right that's where Dean and Nikki are staying. That sounds nice. I did priceline and in the back of my mind, hoped that it might come up the Hyatt. But, we got the Holiday Inn Select. I read that it's nice and there is a shuttle, so it shouldn't be too bad.

kmc33
01-28-2004, 08:53 AM
California University of PA... I lived for a short time in Evans City, Zelionople (sp?), Seneca, Oil City, Franklin, Meadville and Erie I am very familiar with all of those places. Although Meadville and Erie is Gary's neck of the woods. He is more familiar with those.

I have lived in various parts of the Pittsburgh area. With the exeption of two years in Monmouth County NJ, I have lived in Pittsburgh all my life.

KofPShannon
01-28-2004, 08:56 AM
Kim - we're staying at the Airport Quality Inn. They have free transportation to the airport, free continental breakfast, free happy hour drinks when you arrive and a shuttle to the cruise and back (not free - I think it was $40/person) for $58/night. I get all my hotels at hotelkingdom.com. There website is not real pretty, but I have historically found their prices to be the best. I've never tried priceline. I think our shuttle leaves at 11:45 AM on Saturday.

How do these posting counters work? I noticed on my last couple of posts, since they were so close together, that the counter didn't add another number. I looked back at Kim's and her last couple of posts had the same number too? Are we being gypped on our numbers? Maybe we already have 3000 posts?

kmc33
01-28-2004, 09:04 AM
I think the counter probably catches up? there seems to be a delay. Just now when I thought I would check this thread once more before getting back to work  , it was still listing me as the last person to post looking at the Cruise Meets header. But then I got in and saw that someone on another thread was really the last to post and that you had made two posts as well.

Should we count the posts to see if we have been gypped? :earseek:

That sounds like a good deal at the Quality Inn. I will have to keep that in mind for next time, if it's just the three of us. On this trip, my sister's family of four is travelling with us, so we are getting a van through Cartier Towncar.

Cap
01-28-2004, 09:49 AM
It takes awhile for the post counter to refresh. We're up to 2546. Although we are slowing down because some people are intransit, and others are able to do without their computers, I think we'll break 2600.

I remember now why I hate AOL. I'm on dial-up at my inlaws and the connection is Sloooooow. That, coupled with AOL trying to sell me something, or tell me about some new feature, is driving me crazy.

For those of you leaving today, have a great trip. It's sunny and 59 degrees in South Florida today. The only white outside is an egret flying by.

KofPShannon
01-28-2004, 10:03 AM
Cap - 59!!!! We want 80's. We want 80s. Fifty-nine degrees is better then 23, but I have to pack more clothes if it's 59. *jumps up and down on suitcases to make more room*

I was looking at the # of posts under our name on the left hand side. I noticed that mine wasn't incrementing correctly and either was Kim's. I didn't go back to look at any others. I didn't think the total for our forum was off, just the individual ones.

The4OfUs
01-28-2004, 10:07 AM
That number SHOULD increment by one everytime you post...and you'll see the same # everywhere, as it's constant, like your sig...so for example, right now it says you have 63 posts...and it should say that on ANY post you made...then you make another, and bump it to 64, and it should say THAT on any post you made...

Now i have to watch it! *grin*

kmc33
01-28-2004, 10:09 AM
I misunderstood about the number of posts too.

Thanks for the update, Cap. I want higher temps too. Although, 59 sounds pretty balmy compared to 16 degrees (RF 0 degrees) that it is here in Pittsburgh!

I can't wait to be sitting with a frufru drink on Friday night saying "just think, three days ago I was shovelling snow". At least it was that thought that kept me going with my shovel, last night!!! :p

Staying at DBF's tonight so he can get his laundry and packing done. Kids are with their dad tonight and tomorrow. He's supposed to have them every Wednesday night, but travels so much for business that he's rarely home doing the week. Am I the only one in this thread that's divorced?

I'm glad to see I'm not the only one left here!:( My brother (dixdadof2) is in the Magic Kingdom as I type. My mom and dad are leaving in a couple of hours and I'm stuck here in the cold and smow until Friday. Only TWO MORE SLEEPS!!!!:Pinkbounc  :hyper:

We're so excited here. Last night between my kids jumping around in excitment and my husband you would have thought there was an earthquake around here.

Homework is finally all done! I just packed the dive bag and now on to clothes. Maybe I'll be ready before three o'clock in the morning on Friday. (boy, that would be a change:rolleyes: )

If you're travelling today or tonight, be safe! There's lots of nasty weather out there and we want everyone on the cruise in one piece please!

Gary-Is your day going any better after practicing your winter driving techniquest this morning?

dizmomof2-Nope, you are not alone. There are a few of us still here trying to clean the place up. Looking at the mess, musta been some good parties around here.

Barbara-I'm not trying to help out the bean-counter by getting the reports done early, just going to close the month a bit early so there is NO chance I get delayed in getting out of here tomorrow.

Cap-I agree with Gary and Barbara - just a little warmer, please. "Doctor" said I need to soak in warm salt water to help my dry and cracked hands. So, I'm going to the Carribbean!!

I am still here too!!!
We leave at 3am Friday morning for the airport for our flight at 7am.
So Thursday evening will be my last post.
It sounds like many of you are all packed and ready to go!! am I the only procrastinator in the bunch?
I have all of the families summer clothes for 2 weeks out on their floors in piles but not much more done than that... I tend to work better under pressure!
I need to finish up some school council paperwork today and take DD to her last dance class tonight and then I have a scrapbooking meeting from 730-9pm.

Tomorrow I have a hair and nail appointment, need to pick up some final prescriptions (Everyone don't forget your medication and be sure to put it in your purse or carry on!!!) and then I will feel the pressure and get myself all packed up.

My DH went to our local tux shop today to rent a cumberbund and vest, tie as he owns a tuxedo but needs some of the accessories. He found 2 really cute sets with Mickey Mouse heads on them...How perfect!::MickeyMo
He was going to go back because in his excitement of finding this he forgot to see if they carry the same thing for my DS 5!! Wouldn't they be adorable in matching tuxes?? (Sorry for you men out there...it is a mother thing!!)

Well back to my procrastinating!!!

Dean - is it just me or is that an unusual prescription FROM A DOCTOR IN SOUTH DAKOTA?? I would have thought he would have told you to use cow udder balm. :jumping1: That's what my grandmother uses on her dry and cracking hands. We saw plenty of cows at your neighbor's farm during the last party.

Wait a minute, one bean, two beans, three beans, oh rats, lost my train of thought again...one bean.... :teacher: 50 hrs and 43 minutes.

dizmom - I like that you and your brother are Disney fans. Did you go to Disney World as kids? My son and daughter are still at the age where they need a full-time referee, http://e4u.deltait.com.au/dressed/bek035.gif so it's nice to dream about them actually doing something together and enjoying each other's company.

I made it back just in time to say good bye to everyone!!!!

My bronchoscopy and biopsy went as expected on Monday. My Dr. (Mister personality) left me waiting in the operating room for 2 hours before the procedure..he had an emergency. Then he didn't even wait until I woke up to tell DH that everything went as expected, they got cultures and biopsies and we would know the results in 2 wks. I slept most of Monday.

I also got a restful day on Tues....now nobody laugh....I'm from New England so I know how stupid this sounds. We got 1/2 to 1 inch of snow Monday night, so all the schools and my office were closed on Tues. Kind of a bummer snow day when there isn't even enough snow to make a snowball, much less a snowman.

I'm not flying out until Friday afternoon, so I can help hold down the fort. I'll also be at the MCO Hyatt on Friday night. Can't wait to meet everyone.

I need a froofroo drink NOW!!!!!!!!

Janice - we missed you! Glad everything went well. A whole 1/2 inch of snow! Wow - hope that snow doesn't get to Florida. I used to get a chuckle when I moved to DC after living in Erie. Same scenario - 1/2 inch of snow and everything's closed.

Sounds like you're on my schedule!! We have to leave around 3:30am for a 6:45am flight out of Boston...and no, I haven't packed either, I've just been collecting things in a pile in the corner...tonight, says I! *grin* (riiiiight...)

I also made appts. for us tomorrow eve. at 5:30 at my salon...haircuts for the men, and manicure/pedicure for Kelsey and I...Im excited about that, then it will feel "real"...

1/2 inch to close it, Janice? LOL! Too funny...

Glad to hear things went ok and you feel alright...just a few more days and we'll keep your mind off things!! We're at the Hyatt Friday night too, with Dean and his group, and I want to catch that first bus out Satuday morning...

Hi, Janice-Glad you made it back before the lights went off and it all went reasonably well. Hopefully, Cheri and I are going to try to meet Nikki sometime Friday evening at the Hyatt and share a froo-froo drink. If you make it in time, maybe you-uns can join us. We WILL be on that first bus out Saturday morning even if I have to knock out some old lady at the bus stop to get it.

Barbara-Actually the udder balm was suggested. But I gave myself a medical degree for the day and insisted salt water soaking would be the best cure. So we booked a cruise!! Sorry, no offense meant by the bean-counter term. It's just my foot in mouth disease.

Hi Everyone-

Sorry I haven't posted but our internet was down last night! We didn't know what to do when we couldn't read the posts!!!

Is anyone else leaving on sat. morning? Are we the only stupid ones that didn't think about getting a motel in Florida the night before???

Babara-- I am also divorced and this the second time around for both of us. Sometimes you need to make mistakes to learn from! Not my DS-- just the marriage!!!

The other day when I was thanking people-- I forgot to thank the most important person-- my DH which stands for my darling honey for me!!! Without him and his planning & organizing-- this trip would not be possible! I know we are going to have the time of our lives! When we are old & sitting in that nursing home-- we can look at our pictures from our Magical Cruise!

See ya all real soon !!!

Wait - we need reasons to drink? http://techhelpers.net/e4u/drink/trink32.gif

Dean - I like Obi-Walt-Kanobi! That's cute.

Dori - I don't remember anyone else leaving on Saturday. Guess we have to hold the boat for you. Is that why you've been running so far? To build endurance for catching the boat? We had a trip a couple years ago that my oldest son overslept http://users.pandora.be/eforum/emoticons4u/sleep/schla16.gif during a snow storm and missed his flight. He spent the rest of the weekend trying to get another flight http://users.telenet.be/eforum/emoticons4u/trans/fahr28.gif to Orlando and never made it. That's my reason for coming a day early.

And Dori - I visit my grandmother in a nursing home every Saturday and Sunday. Trust me, you and Jerry will be lucky if you remember who each other are, let alone be able to identify pictures. My sister and I always joke about how we'll be roommates in a nursing home http://users.pandora.be/eforum/emoticons4u/crazy/126.gif and constantly accusing each other of stealing our pictures because we don't remember who we are.

I can't and don't even want to think about all the homework I'm going to have next week. My teachers don't even know what we are doing on Friday let alone next week, so it looks like when I i get home I will have to do alot of homework.

Hey guys!! I'm back from the dead!! You know, i'm learning that the best part about "college life" is that EVERYBODY and their roomate has the internet- go figure!! The best part is that Their hall is watching American Idol, so i don't have to miss it!!! Hooray!!

Sooo, Florida is definatly much much warmer than the 4 degrees and the foot of snow that i woke up to this morning!! It's a bit "Chilly" not cold and DEFINATLY not 80 degrees! I would compare it to a spring day- i was wearing a light long sleeved shirt and i was completely comfortable... it's a bit more chilly at night- sweatshirt or windbreaker weather a bit more "Nippy" when it's dark!! I sure hope it's gonna be warmer in the Carribean!! It's all good- i see more "cruise friendly" temperatures in the forcast!!

Well, i should be out!! I'll see some of you DIS folk as soon as tomorrow and friday and i look forward to meeting the rest of everyone on Saturday!! (i'm really not looking forward to wearing the lime green, to be perfectly honest - but I'll do what it takes to be loyal to DIS!!)

Cap
01-28-2004, 08:14 PM
We're glad to hear that everybody is moving along on packing, job clean-up, college check out, etc. As Princess said, it's much warmer than up north, but still need a sweatshirt or windbreaker.

Unfortunately, I have to suffer with dial-up AOL for the rest of the trip. Disney was supposed to have Broadband turned on at Boardwalk, but it's "not quite done".

Dean - don't forget the bubbles!

It's not very crowded at WDW today.

OK. We're at post 2576 now. Should make 2600 before sailing.

Judi say's lime green is not her color, but is acceptable as a fruit in a fruit drink with an umbrella.

PrincessAuroraInBlue: I hate to break this to you but the best part of college life really has nothing to do with the internet.;) It has a lot to do with, um, ah, other stuff. (are your parents reading this thread?):earseek: Glad to hear your having a wonderful time.

Alright you people in Florida! Are you complaining about nippy weather!!! I just had to shovel the driveway again (yes AGAIN!) because the snowplow came and blocked in my driveway. This is after I had to push a neighbour out because she got stuck IN her driveway.

Bring on the sun, froofroo drinks (non-alcoholic please) and those men in speedos!:earseek: (Okay, I'm not sure about the men in speedos. I'll reserve judgement about them.;) )

I don't want to scare anyone, but we have a freeze warning tonight! I didn't think anything of the cold when I went to work this morning, but it's supposed to get down to 30* tonight! Oh well, what the heck, I am on a roll so make it 17.

The bad news is... DH's was hit last night; the good news is he wasn't hurt. DH was moving slowly, approaching a light. Out of the corner of his eye, he saw a car coming at him. Thought he was going to get hit in the ribs. But he sped up to try and get out of the way. But, the other car hit DH's rear bumper which spun him around and the front end hit a tree stump. Of course there is never a good time for a car accident, but especially not right now! Anyway, I am glad he is okay. We are ready for a vacation!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Well, I got up at 4:30 am to practice for tomorrow, when we'll be up at 3am...and I'm at work already as I'm leaving at noon...to do the things like pack, which no, we didn't get done yesterday.

I DID find a dress I forgot about for formal night, white and black...I'll match AP if we get that rotation *grin*

My goodness, Kim & Grandma, what a night!! I'm glad that the issues aren't enough to keep you away, I'd be so sad to not meet you after all this!! Last night it was snowing, and although we had expected a storm yesterday morning, it seems no one expected this snow...I have driven through major storms, but last night's commute home was scary. Slippery, with accidents EVERYWHERE, cause they didn't think to treat the roads once the storm turned out to be a non-event!! I saw one into a tree, one into another car, and one flipped on its roof! It's NEW ENGLAND people, how do you FORGET how to drive in snow!!

Anyhow, lots to do today at work and home, but we'll say g'nite later at the very least...

Oh, and just started a WONDERFUL book that I'm bringing along with me, "Wild Swans"...fascinating. I almost missed my stop on the subway this morning, I got so into it! :)

DS has figured that it might be playing on the cruise and now is promising "I won't have nightmares...its only a movie...PLEASE".

Ya know, I havent' seen this, but DH told me that there were a few parts that scared even him...and he was surprised. I don't know exactly what tho. We'll have to ask my son, who is my sensitive movie watcher...my DD thinks that movies like Jaws are "stupid and not scary" and prefers things like "Darkness falls" and "The Ring".....so she's not a good barometer with this one!

Janice, wonderful update. Now you can really party down on the cruise.

Team, we're overachieving again. Now that we've crossed the 2600 threshold, maybe we'll even make 2700. Over 10% of the posts on the CruiseMeets forum are from OUR thread.

*sob*

It's not supposed to snow today. STupid Boston weather. *sigh*

As long as it's not tomorrow morning, I'm happy.

I'm about to leave work to go start on all the things I have to do...but I'll check in later on, before I go to bed in preparation of that alarm going off at 3am...

Bummer about the snow Nikki.

My Mom is driving down from NH today to brother's in Wrentham. She and Best Friend are flying out of PVD tomorrow. Mom had delayed her drive because the snow was supposed to have stopped by now.......hope she's fine.

Think anyone would notice if I had a 3 martini lunch today....prob. not.

Hey Everyone!

My in-laws were changing over to a cable modem from dial-in yesterday, so I couldn't get online. We went to a really funky tourist attraction yesterday, "Solomon's Castle" in the middle of nowhere. It was a building made up of offset printing plates. Looks like very heavy aluminum foil. The artist made it look like a castle with stained glass windows, etc. It was actually pretty cool. We felt fortunate that the artist jumped in to give us the tour b/c the regular guides had screwed up the scheduling with some large groups.

Nikki- I enjoyed seeing your pictures. I shouldn't be so lazy and get one out there too. Well, I'll have a lime green jacket on Saturday, and we'll head straight to the pool after lunch. See you there!

It is cool here, but no complaints. I've been wearing my jeans and a light fleece in the evenings. You could get away with shorts during the day, but I would still wear a long sleeve shirt with them. Don't worry, the boat is taking us to warmer weather!

My MIL and I are going to a play in Ft. Myers tonight. We have to pick up our rental car tomorrow. I also have to get to the drugstore for some things I forgot. See, the packing never ends.

Big decision today....Do I call and order tuxes for the little guys? DH will have a fit if I do. They said they needed 2 days notice, so I'll think about it some more.

I'll be able to check back in on Friday night so Renae won't be lonely. I'll help you sweep up the floor Renae and make sure the coffe maker is unplugged.

Everyone be safe and enjoy your trip tomorrow. That is part of the fun too!

Juli

We're back in the room at Boardwalk for a bit. To those who have asked, NO - IT HAS NOT WARMED UP. We're having to tough it out at about 55 degrees. It's partly sunny, not much breeze, and we're hoping to see Karyn and Jill later this afternoon

Go to: The DIS Discussion Forums > Disney Cruise Line > Disney Cruise Line Forum > Cruise Meets >

Look for our "20040131 ~ Cruising Jan 31 2004 Western Who's with us?" thread. There should be two numbers. the first is the number of posts and the second is the number of views.

As of this post, there are 2629 posts and 23291 views.
Hope this helps. See you soon.

Hey,

I can't believe it, but we are really having a cold snap! I didn't do it, honest! I think it's all these people coming in from the frozen north bringing it with them.... stop it!!! It's supposed to be a high of 72 on Sat. so it looks like I'd better pack the capris and keep a set of lightweight slacks out. Bummer.

I tried to take a nap but my list kept running through my head, sooooo, I got up and did some more and checked more off. Now, I'd better stay awake or I won't be able to sleep tonight.

Janice, I'm glad you're back with us, the cruise will do wonders for your outlook and we will do our best to make sure that happens.

Karyn, DH decided not to go to MK tonight, so I won't be there with you to see Wishes... sorry! They went to EPCOT instead so they won't be up so late tomorrow night. I'll have to see you with everyone else onboard on Sat.

Dorie, I will be here till the last, so don't mind talking to just me, I hope we can get you off the ground and down here before they have to bring you out on a Coast Guard cutter. I saw that one time from St. Thomas and it wasn't fun for the people, so tell that pilot to move it!

Judi and I had dinner with Karyn and Jill. Karyn said she is having computer withdrawal.

Posts are very slow for two reasons - most people are either intransit or in packing panic and DisBoards have been down some this afternoon as they move to new servers.

It warmed up nicely here this afternoon.

I was wondering if the server crashed. I tried to get on about an hour or so ago to wish 'safe travels' to all leaving in the wee hours of the AM. Now I am afraid they are in bed! Well if any still get on, have a safe trip! I hope the weather holds out for those of you going in the morning. Our flight is at 4:00 pm, I am not sure what that may bring in terms of snow. It's supposed to be very cold with periods of snow in the afternoon.

Maybe we'll have to do a "girls night at the movies"... *grin* Think we can sneak in some Strawberry Daquiris? That sounds great!

I should have time to check in Friday morning. As wound up as I am, I might be on in the middle of the night if I can't sleep

Hey Kim, Renae, Cap, anyone else out there.....

Here's hoping that everyone got into the air safely this am. For those driving and flying tomorrow am, take it easy. We'll probably cross paths with Cap and Renae on the highway. We are shooting for 6:30am as a departure time. That's giving us lots of time. My FIL says there is construction on I-75 and I-4. Might be worth a look at AAA's web site or a call to the DOT to see if there will be big delays.

Well, even though I'm here in Florida, I'm still a bit hyper. Laundry to do, misc. things to pick up. I'm nervous for all the northern travellers today too!

MIL wants to know if I want to go out to lunch and shopping, or just shopping! Now that's a way to start a vacation!

I'll be back tonight Renae to help you close up shop.

DS will love that part.....on the other hand, I'll not be happy. I DO NOT LIKE SPIDERS! I worked in a pet store while in college and my all time worst job was feeding the taratulas. I hated those things. It didn't bother me to grab a handful of live crickets but I almost peed my pants just opening the spider cage and dropping them in. The spiders seemed to know I didn't like them....anytime I came near the cage, they would start jumping at the lid.......gross.

Have safe travels everyone....I'll be here until noon.

Can't wait!!!

The travel agent called yesterday to let me know about the upgrade that I already knew about. Apparently she forgot to link my reservations together.
