I am curious though, what is the benefit to adding on?

I am just about to buy 200 points I think it will be enough for a few years but I am am curious to know why people buy more after having enough for a vacation?

We just bought 200 at BCV thinking we'd be happy in a studio twice a year, we'd also have a few extra points to bank for special ocations. In less than a week bought another 25, we decided that a 1 bedroom every June would be nice and we could still use a studio every October since we'd be at the Food & Wine Festival and a full kitchen would be less important. I still think we're gonna' be lookin' for another 60 points in a few years, that way we have enough for a 1 bedroom stay twice a year.

They are still offering MB. If you buy Vero Beach, it is $15 off of a point for $69 a point. If you buy BCV it is $10 a point. You must buy a minimum of 100 points at BCV and 25 at Vero Beach (I think) They must also be your original use year. You give back your 2002 points (our use year is August) We will be getting the 100 points in August 2003. this was fine for us because we have our trips for this year already planned out.

We added on because it gives us more options in reserving bigger units. If we want to include more people in our vacation planning, we can get a bigger unit because we have more points. We also plan on using our points for other things, like maybe a cruise or one of the Resorts in Hawaii.

Interesting. I hadn't read of a lot of people taking advantage of an add-on and utilizing the Magical Beginnings. That's definitely what I would do once I become a DVC member :p

I'm lookin' for a small OKW contract now to begin with and then we can do an add-on for BCV w/MB.

Mitcam, stick around. There are so many wonderful things you can do with points, not the least of which is more time/more trips to WDW. Our add-ons happened after BCV opened (DD loves SAB) and then after we decided that we'd really like to cruise every other year. We have enough now...I think. Diana

We bought 200 points at BCV as soon as they became available and we've already had to borrow for our Wine and Food Fest trip in November! We plan on adding on another 100 points as soon as we talk ourselves into it. lol
