...that does not include frying? Looking for other ways to cook venison. Any ideas much appreciated.

Have lots of recipes - essentially any manner you would cook beef you can cook venison.

Burger: chili, casseroles, meatloaf (for this I mix in some pork sausage or it gets a little dry ~1/4 lb. pork for every lb of venison)

Non-burger: Roasts - pot roast or sauerbraten are great. Crock pot works really well. Cut into small pieces I have made stir fry (marinade for about 1/2 hour in a red wine and soy sauce marinade - I can get you the specifics if you'd like), shepard's pie, stew and soup, essentially anything you'd use beef in.

Grilling - not my favorite method but if I do it is marinaded and then I brush on a little olive oil.

LLBean has a wonderful game cookbook by the way.

Depends on which cut of venison you want to cook, but if you take one of the tenderloins and slice it sideways about 1 inch thick (like small ribeye steaks), wrap each one with a piece of bacon using toothpicks to hold in place, then marinade in your favorite steak marinade (I like Dale's sauce, but not sure if you can get it where you are) and cook on the grill. Wonderful!

On Emeril live last night the whole show was dedicated to venison. Maybe you can find the recipes at foodtv.com

can be tough.......I use a bag and cook it with any type of marinades.....this makes the meat actually be able to cut it with a fork......I love also the lipton onion soup mix and cream of mushroom and one can of water and seal it and cook it ..delicious and the gravy is fantastic

pumba, about how long do you leave it in the oven?

the oven for at least two hours....if you don't use a bag.....do a tent wiht aluminum foil and put the steaks or roast down and then put the marinades that you like or the soup combo....and seal the top of the area with the foil....same thing....just delicious.....
