View Full Version : Pulled out the FLAME THROWER this weekend!

Yup... you read right! I used a FLAME THROWER to kill weeds in my garden walkways this weekend! LOL!

Well... it does not exactly THROW the flame... but it is a propane weed killer that uses thermogenics (yes a FLAME!) to kill weeds. I have had this for almost 2 years now... and finally used it for the first time this weekend. I was kind of SCARED to use it... thought I might burn the place up ... or myself! :p

Seems to have worked. It takes a few days for the plants to finish dieing... so I will let you know after a day or so. I was really after killing my volunteer hollyhocks that take over my walkway each year. Dang things are impossible to pull and don't die easy. :)

Laura, why am I thinking you enjoyed wielding this thing and the power it gave you....LOL :p

Of course you would have had to wear protective clothing, right? Perhaps an attractive, but functional jumpsuit? Maybe with a very small pinstripe or floral print? Did I ever mention that I love shopping? ;) :p :)

LOL Kim! I see another excuse for shopping came my way ... and I missed it!

Olena... you inspired me! This summer I can do two things at once... I can kill the weeds in the walkways... AND... if I carefully aim that flame at various ripe veggies in the garden... sautee a little SNACK while I am at it! LOL! Of course, having the entire tower of pole beans go up in flames would probably be a potential setback in the plan. :p

I checked this morning and it appears that the nasty little (largish really) hollyhock starts are DEAD in my garden path! Oh that it be true! :teeth:
