Registration at Port

I was wondering once we register at the terminal, may we leave and return once again? Will we be able to check in our luggage prior to us physically boarding the ship?

You would keep your carryons with you, but your checked luggage is taken by the porters when you first get to the terminal.

I am not sure about leaving and returning...good question...don't know if that has been discussed here before! Will you have your own car there...and want to do some last minute shopping or something??

Yes. We wanted to Check - in and then perhaps do a little last minute shopping. Since we are flying in the previous night late we just wanted to pick up a few things for the cruise.

I thought it was mentioned in an earlier thread but am not able to locate it.

Personally I think I'd do my shopping before you get there. You have to show your ID etc to unload your luggage.
There really wouldn't imho be much advantage to driving and going through the security with your car, putting your luggage in and then driving into Cocoa Beach.
I think if you did all of your shopping first, unloaded and one of you park the car, and then check in would be much more time efficient and the short amount of time in the terminal before you board is fun. Well I found it fun anyway :)
