secret port hole room

Okay everyone. I've been reading about the secret port hole rooms that are hard to get. What is so special about these rooms? Are they bigger? What is the deal? Which rooms? Give me the info for next we go..

They are rooms located on deck 5 that are listed as inside rooms,but they have a porthole with a bit of an obstruction.;) ;)
Check out www.***************** and you can see the rooms and their numbers.;) ;) We have room 5020 booked and it has a very small obstruction and it was listed as a Cat 10 Inside deluxe. Saved us about $400 rather than booking a Cat 8 or 9 with a window.:cool: :cool: :cool:

I usually look on Expedia or Yahoo travel to see if any of the secret rooms come up for the dates that I want and then I call DCL or my TA and tell her to book me that room and that I know it is available. The location is great and down hall from the kids club.:) :) :)

This will be our first time in the Secret porthole rooms. My Aunt and I both got one booked on the same cruise!!! Imagine that?? We could not pass it up.

We have 5520 booked.

I hear that this one may be a slightly better location than the 5020.

Also, call DCL directly, or have your TA call, to see if these rooms are available on the dates that you are considering. The booking engines of the online travel sites do not always show every available room.

If you call DCL and mention "secret porthole room(s)" be aware that they will not even acknowledge that these rooms exist... You may want to simply refer to them by the room numbers.

When I was booking our next cruise,the CM brought up the idea of a cat. 10 on decks 1,2,7. I mentioned deck 5 and giggled and whispered the *Secret porthole rooms*. She chuckled under her breath and said *hum..you know about those?*. I said yes I do, but didn't let on how. MY LIPS ARE SEALED! ;)

My friend had 5520 and loved it.
I was lucky enough to get 5020 for my cruise in Feb.
I just called asked for the availabilty of the 3 rooms I wanted.
