Okay, I've been reading Tikiman's site over and over and asking a lot of questions here and now I would like some input on Tuvalu.

I've heard quite a bit about Tokelau and Samoa but after reading Tikiman's description of the views, I'm thinking that Tuvalu might be a good bet for a partial LV from a GV room. Anybody have any first hand accounts of this longhouse? I am also wondering about patio or balcony room, which is the best?

Thank you in advance!!

Tuvalu garden views have no lagoon view. The garden side faces in from the lagoon and looks right at the side of Fiji. You may see part of the marina and the beach at Luau cove but no partial view of the lagoon. Look at the map to see how it faces. You will also see on the Tuvalu page that the garden view rooms on the ground level are very cramped because the path between Tuvalu and Fiji make the patios very short. I stayed in Tuvalu in a lagoon view and it was nice but I would say that Tuvalu’s garden views are the second worst after the south side of Rapa Nui that looks at the parking lot. Just my opinion.

Thanks Tikiman!! As I've never stayed at the Poly I value your opinion! I just got off the phone with CRO ( I changed the 1st three nights of my trip from POR to AKL) and we discussed room requests for my last 4 nights at Poly. She said that it is better to request what kind of view you would like rather than a specific building so that you don't limit yourself. I'm not really concerned with location, but I would like the best view possible. So I requested some sort of water view and a patio!! Hopefully I'll get a nice location!!

Go for Fiji. Either side will have a water view. One side looks right at the marina with an angled view of the lagoon and castle and the other side looks at Luau cove and the GF. Either way you see water.

Thanks again Tikiman - I will try to request Fiji! That's not one that I had even considered!! See you truly are the expert and your website is excellent, thank you so much!!

No problem but don’t just take it from me, there have been quite a few people who were just there after Fiji opened back up from the rehab and they were very happy with the view and location of Fiji. I walk past the marina side rooms every time I am there and think how nice it would be to sit on the patio and watch the lagoon and marina. Some people like a more secluded patio away from everything but I like to watch the activity around the resort.
