Mardi Gras Questions

Do the Mardi Gras festivities happen after the park closes? USF closes at 8pm the Friday night we'll be there. How long does the stuff last?

I also read somewhere that you can drink a beer while standing in line for rides. Is this true? I'm not a beer drinker but I am into mixed drinks but I don't think that would be a good combo for me anyway. Drinking and roller coasters???? I take Bonine when I'm sober I'd hate to see what a drink or two would do to me!!!!

Thanks for your help, I'm kind of clueless when it comes to Universal and I don't want to waste any time once I get there!

The Mardi Gras parade takes about 45 minutes to 1 hour to go around the whole route of Universal. If there's a band that night, the celebration could last until 10 or 11 pm.

As for drinking beer in line, I'm not sure about that. I know that you can't smoke in any queue lines. I've seen people eat and drink in line, but you can't take your food on the ride.

We were there last week and I will try to answer some of your questions. The attractions were closed at 8:00 but the parade and concert started at 8:00. We had 2 8 yo girls with us so we didn't stay in the park too long after the parade.

You can drink alcohol in line of you wish. I couldn't though. I am not sure of the affects of alcohol and Bonine mixed. The package should say if you should not mix.

Maybe if you had a drink you wouldn't need the bonine. Of course I wouldn't want to be under the roller coaster when you're on it...;)

Or in the seat right behind me!!!! Ugh that's gross. Who would have thought to mix booze and rides. People get cranky enough when it's 100 degrees outside and you're waiting in a line!
