I've been away from this board for 3 weeks because I had a "setback". I think I deprived myself of things I love for too long and fell off the wagon. I should know better (being on the Weight Watchers program) but I had what I wanted (twice) and now am ready to get back in the swing of things!

Hope you are all doing well!!

Don't be ashamed Cathy, be MOTIVATED!

Setbacks happen to us all, it is how well we recover that is the remarkable part!

And by the way......................

WELCOME BACK!!!

Don't be ashamed!!!!!!!! You are a wonderful person! :) Heck, most of us have slipped up too! Just get back into the swing of things. Make sure you let yourself have a treat once in a while so that you don't end up binging and then feeling guilty!!

WE HAVE MISSED YOU, CC!!!!!! It's great to see you back! Even if you can't pop in more than once a week, just know we are here cheering you on!!! :)

We are all human, we all make mistakes. The great part is we can recognize our mistakes and correct them. Welcome back!

Glad to have you back with us Cathy. My rule is if i want it i eat it! It maybe a taste or 1 bite or 2 but that way i don't feel like i can't have the things i love and i'm less likely to crave and binge for those foods. Another thing i do is i eat my snacks that has helped me more than anything I have ever tried while on a new plan. I don't feel deprived and i CAN have snack and not have to starve and crave bad things. You can do it Cathy come on with us.

Don't forget, we're in this for the long haul too. There is not going to be a time where I will be able to indulge like in the days that put me where I am, but I have had to decide this is a forever change, and part of forever is going to be enjoying the things I love, in moderation, along the way. Don't feel guilty, don't be ashamed, just know that today is a new day.

Don't worry Cathy! We all have setbacks once and awhile...I have done that a lot lately too!!!
Just revisit in your mind what you are working towards....you can do it!

I was wondering where you were.

Well, the past is past, now it's time to focus on "right now". You are going to do great, CC.

Welcome back--I missed seeing you here.

Welcome back CC.

Don't be ashamed for having a set back. I have those too! You should be able to have something you crave, if you don't then you are going to want it that much more. So having a set back once in awhile is okay as long as you get back to working towards your goal. ;)

Thanks for coming forward Cathy. I hadn't posted since early last week because I gave up on the Atkins plan. I HATED it. I literally felt as though I had done something wrong and was being punished by not being able to eat certain things. I've gone back to my WW/watching what I eat and being accountable for it. I am still at Curves and loving that.

Although I see so much support here, I too was ashamed to come back and admit my failure on Atkins.

I'll keep lurking and will post my progress next month after my weigh/measure day at Curves.

Welcome back, Cathy. I think that is one thing that I like about the people here. We can all feel your pain, your anguish, your embarassment because we've all been there.

Now, if you're ready, we could give you a kick in the pants, too. :p Just let us know! In the meantime, drink your water, http://www.diettalk.com/forums/images/smilies/water.gif and be prepared to hunker down!

SeaShelley, glad to hear that you changed what isn't working for you, and are keeping up the Curves.

You guys are just the greatest. Now I know why I came here. :)

Sea Shelley, a big hug for you. You will find something that works for you. If you are not happy doing Atkins, then it is not for you.

I had a rough afternoon, found out some kids were making fun of Patrick and since he is in high school, it is harder to deal with, without making things worse. I had some "bad food" then called a friend who helped me through it.

No exercise today, but will try tomorrow. Curves, here I come. :)
Hugs to you all and thanks again!!

Welcome back Cathy! Don't leave us when you have a problem, let us help! I had my own set back yesterday but trying to have a positive attitude and keep going. When I did WW in the past when I'd go off the program and gain some I'd just quit going, but now I know I need to face the scales and keep trying. You can do it!!!!! :D

I'm sorry about Patrick, hon. I know its a killer when our kids have problems and pain. I'm glad you had a friend who could help.

SeaShelley, I tried a program similar to Atkins (Suzanne Somers) and gave up after just one day!!! So don't feel bad! I'm much happier on WW. But I had posted how easy SS plan looked and felt like an idiot to come back and say I'd given up so I know how you feel! :D

Be thankful you didn't fall off 3, 4, 5 times ;) I used to have the mentality that "well, if I messed up today (Friday), I can't start back on Friday so I will get it all out of my system this weekend and start fresh on Monday. Glad your back!!!!

P.S. A little cheat occassionally is okay :p
