Darby O'Gill

I'm watching Darby O'Gill and the Little People on Hallmark Channel right now. We watched it the other night on an old video tape that we recorded in 1986 from the Disney Channel. But Darby's voice is different. Anyone know why they dubbed in a completely new voice for Darby? It was so great. It sounds more dignified instead of rugged old geezer voice. But it doesn't sound right.

PC Darby O'Gill!!!!! I was LOL when I saw the thread. When we were kids and saw the movie, my brother wrote to Disney Studios asking if leprecauns (sp?) were real. They sent a response back never really saying they were or weren't, but it was enough to satisfy him. BTW he is now 50 and if I'm not mistaken my mother may still have the letter:D If I ever find it I should post it here:D
