We've taken the plunge and gone for Cumbrian Lakes - a total departure for us. OK, not a total departure - that would be staying in California, I guess!

We've booked through Florida Leisure - another first as we've always booked directly with the owner in the past.

Here it is (http://************************/unitpics/4628-6bed/Default.htm). Whaddya think?

Wow, it looks fantastic!!!
The villa we have booked for June is also Cumbrian Lakes, and looks the same from the outside, but I watched the video, and the interior is slightly different - we have 5 bedrooms.
The furnishings looked so modern - and I just caught a wee glimpse of a Braveheart movie poster on one of the walls.........;) ;)

Hope you have a wonderful time........and let me know all about Cumbrian Lakes when you get back........!!!

Hi All

Great news Deb

I have not stayed at Cumbrian Lakes, but last night we were watching a TV programme called 'Gotta have that house' and it was in FL.
Well to cut a long story short;), they were looking to buy a holiday/rental home for themselves and they ended up buying a brand new villa in Cumbrian Lakes.
It looks really nice, it is a brand new estate and the villa was top notch.

Wish we'd seen that, Michelle. What channel was it on?

I saw that programme too. It is a series called 'I want that house' and is on ITV at 5.30pm weekdays. They have had a few houses in Florida featured.

The villa looks lovely BTW and Florida Leisure are a good company - Nigel the owner is also a Dis'er.

It looks lovely, as do the other villas on that website. Were you able to select the specific villa or just the location?

It looks great Deb,
we too have just booked a villa, ours is at Eagle Point (August for 4 weeks...yippee!!!), and it's the first time we've booked direct with the owner, previously we've played the villa lottery with people like Travel City Direct.

Libby - with Florida Leisure you select the villa itself and, in fact they don't advertise the location for security reasons, but I'm such an anorak I can work out where most of them just by looking at them. Sad, I know.

alexandra uk - well at the risk of looking like a complete nut-bar (no comment necessary, Kev Stringer, SD Dave, et al), it's just dh and me at the moment! Having said that, it's still cheaper than staying in a hotel of a similar standard and whenever we have booked a villa for just the two of us in the past, we are invariably joined by either our friends and/or my brother and his wife. I'm sure once we tell them/show them we'll get some hangers on!

matty624 - we've never had any problems booking directly with owners and the beauty is that you get to see exactly what you're booking and where it is. Like you say - no more lottery.
