I could not believe this - I generally don't support sueing over every little thing but I would have called my lawyer ASPAP.

Most of us would be livid, however one wonders how many of the passengers seated nearby said silent "thankyou's". :)

There's a problem here . . .
Ten days after the flight, Turner took the juice to University Laboratories, which confirmed the presence of Xanax, a prescription medication used to treat panic attacks and anxiety, the FBI said.
Why did she wait 10 days ???? You know the lawyers are going to argue that the mom could have put the drugs into the juice during that time . . .

Deb, that was my thought exactly. Something is not right about that 10 day wait.

I wondered the same thing, Deb.
They need to prove the stuff was in the child, not the juice.

I would not have waited 10 days. Bot, since the flight attended did have it on her, it seems suspicious.

I'm kind of hoping none of them would have said any "thank you's" if they knew the (alleged) reason why the child was sleeping.

Thanks for poisoning a baby?

How can someone behave that way?! I understand children crying on a flight. We had two toddlers on a 13hr flight! There is no excuse for her actions, no matter what! UGH!

If she waited 10 days to take it to get tested, how long did she wait to get the child tested? God forbid something happened to that child!!

I usually get my drinks in a cup.....did this mom keep a cup of apple juice for 10 days?????? If she thought something was wrong enough to keep it for 10 days why not take it somewhere right away?

So, party poppers sold in the airport store -- NOT OKAY. Drugging a baby -- OKAY.
Nice set of standards.

I responded to another thread on this story.....the 10 day thing is beyond belief.

I got the impression that the mother did not give the baby the juice because she mentioned that she noticed something in the bottle. Also I am sure that they could test the drug in the juice to determine how long it was in there.
As for your comment Dawn, do you really think that the passengers would want a baby to be given drugs to get it to shut up?

I read the story...then I read the responses to the story. Twice I was horrified. Dawn, I hope you were just making a really bad joke. I'd hate to think you saw any merit to drugging an innocent baby.

As I said in the post, most of US would be livid. Obviously, that includes ME! Don't worry. I don't condone drugging screaming babies or even obnoxious adults. As to speculation that he may or may not be guilty; he has been charged with bringing controlled drugs (100 tabs) into the country, so I don't think it is just a fishing expedition for airline assets. Of course, one wonders how alert the mother was, hanging on to a bottle of juice for ten days.....

I do not find that comment remotely humorous.

Didn't the guy admit to it? I thought the article I had read said he admitted to it. Maybe not. I can't even remember where I read about it first. Didn't they find narcotics on the guy too? If the woman is anything like me, she was busy and had to find out where to take it, then find time to take it etc. If my child didn't actually drink any, I wouldn't be frantic to find out what was in it.

Not sure why you think it was obvious. Obviously, it wasn't.

If I thought it was a good idea, I would have said so.

Yeeeeeeah, I thought so, too. The 'silent thank you's and the smiley face sort of gave it away.
