Actually this is the snowiest year that I can ever recall, and the coldest!

I hate to say it, but send some of that snow my way, we need the water.
Don't think of it as snow, think of it as showers, toilet flushing, live grass and trees, clean cars, kid's sports seasons that are not restricted due to dust-bowl park fields and flowers in the spring.

For those of you in Colorado I would send you some of our snow if I could! Like Ann we were hit again last night.
Of course it "warmed up" just enough yesterday afternoon that it started as freezing rain. Then turned to snow! By the time I was heading home from campus about 9 last night it was a mess. Schools closed this morning around the area - some just delayed.
Ann - do you think we have the same plowman? Or maybe our's headed your way because they DIDN'T PLOW this morning! What a mess heading back in this morning.

LOL! I can just see it on the evening new tonight. Mass. resident has had it with crazy plow driver and has decided to send snow to Colorado where it is way out of his way. :jester: Hasn't Colorado been in a drought for some time now?

I'm with you Ann! (We're just North of Boston)
Looks like I won't get my errands done tonight. It is just too messy out there.
Is it too early to start packing??? We sail May 3rd and it will not be a moment too soon.
Do you think I will be able to see the grass on my lawn someday?
Sigh...:(

>>>Hasn't Colorado been in a drought for some time now?>>
Yes, but this year has been the worst in (they say) 100 years! Judging by the dirt that blows around and the brown straw that used to be grass in my front yard, I'd say "yes".

Ann, do you need Lisa's and my addresses to send the plowman and dump truck to? Tell them to dump it on my poor flowers I spent a fortune on two years ago that had to be dug up when they redid the sewer line (a long, ugly story), then replanted, now so thirsty. I have been shoveling what little snow we have had onto them. Next I'm gonna wet vac the shower water....
Ah for a day at Castaway Kay (tee hee Senor F.)

Poor Ann, I can not believe it is snowing again. Here in Eastern NC we have had 77 yestrday with partly cloudy skys and then today is cold, windy and rainy...........but no snow. The weather changes from cold to hot with a drop of a hat and is causing my son's asthma to flare :(
Next week I will be in sdoane's neck of the woods at my Dad's house in Bradenton Florida. In fact I just started packing for the trip and was pulling out shorts and swim suits because the 10 day forecast says 85 in the day and 65 at night. I was thinking how can a 21 month old be too chubby for 3T's :)
Ann you know I love ya' to death so you and Mike can go. Just come on down to NC and join us. Heck I will cancel my flight and we can pile in the mini van and pop in a video and cruise on down to Florida and then we will stop at WDW and call my Dad and say sorry but got caught up with Mickey and then I will get you back home around the 1st of April (lol).
How does that work for you?

Well Ann, you have my address, so send him on! Or better yet, you, Mike and Jay come here for Spring Break! We had 72 degrees yesterday and supposed to be in the 70's all weekend.
Oh and bring Chelsea...my girls would love it!:)

thank you dear Rae.... and yes he struck again in the middle of the night. DH made sure the driveway was cleared before bed and in the morning there was a two foot snowbank there again... I hope he gets a ticket someday and has to face DH in court! Then we will see who has the real power!

You are definitely MY kind of woman, Ann! We think alike!
I've got a headache to "beat the band" today - and down the road, one neighbor is adding on to her home and down the other way, a neighbor is having a 5,000 sq ft house built - POUND POUND POUND HAMMER SAW HAMMER SAW.
I hope you will be available to defend me in turn!

But I will drink one in your honor on Tuesday. Pls. don't kill the
plowman! I just got over being hooked watching the Robert Blake case on court tv. Don't want to get hooked again watching a DISer on trial for going temporarily insane and killing the local plowman. LOL.

Lucky you, you get to see the trial. We don't get Court TV on my cable so I go around humming the old Baretta tune - "Don't do the crime if you can't do the time...."

It took me 3 hours to drive the 40 miles from Logan Airport in Boston to my house in So. NH last night. You'd have thought that there was a blizzard instead of 3 or so inches. Between the fact that I still have about 2 feet of the now gray-ish stuff on my lawn, and the fact that it has been the coldest winter I remember, I may just have to move to Miami.

And to top it all off.... Mike has strep throat YET AGAIN! This is the third week in a row now, he has been on antibiotics for a month, the doctor pulled out the big guns today Ceftic or something like that,, aparently the strain is resistant to the amoxicillian - at least it is suppossed to be warm on sunday like 50 degrees! I can open the windows and get rid of some of the germs.
ps- I hid the plowmans body in the fox hole in the back yard,,, I figure she can feed her kitts on it since it is too cold to hunt. :)
lsmac
03-14-2003, 04:57 PM
Oh No Ann! Poor Mike! It's probably Ceflex, which is some good stuff. They gave me that when I got pnemonia last year...kicked it right out...well, after about three days.
Tell Mike we hope he feels better soon!
BTW, I am sure Miss Fox appreciates the feed! LOL

Ann, you are a true humanitarian to be so considerate to the poor wild animals!
One plowman down - next it's the weatherman!

The weatherman only uses his computers to forecast the weather, so I think he's still only human. The plowman on the other hand-he does it on purpose. They know they're plowing driveways back in!!
Spring begins March 20th! We'll see how long the snow lasts.

Very true, Jeanny - my DS Michael wants to be a "weatherman-storm chaser". Has since he was about 3 (nearly 5 years ago). His room is decorated in all weather related items (his choice).
But I'd still string him up if he predicted more snow for Ann!!!!!
:p

LOL, as much as I'm giving the weathermen the "benefit of a doubt"... I still hate to hear that four-letter word (SNOW).
Tell Michael, people will love him only when he's right!!!
Although Barry Burbank (Channel 4 in Boston) says today is suppose to be up to 60, I doubt it, there's still ice all over my steps and driveway. I needed ice skates to take the dogs out this morning.
Jeanny :D
We're spoiled here in No. Calif. We don't get the extreme winters so we travel 3-4 hrs just to be in the snow! Guess it's easier when you don't have to live in it everyday.
Hang in there....spring/summer is just around the corner..hopefully!
AnnMorin
03-16-2003, 02:27 PM
It is actually 61 degrees right now!! And I am so loving it,, I have the windows open to get rid of the strep germs, washed and waxed both cars,, it is WONDERFULL!
Jeanny
03-16-2003, 03:27 PM
Can we bring our cars up there? Believe it or not, we have a water ban in Franklin and we're not suppose to wash our cars, water our lawns, etc. ALL YEAR!! Of course, I see people washing their driveways down so they don't have to sweep it. Takes all kinds.
Must be related to your plowdriver! LOL
Jeanny :D

HURRAH for Ann!!!!!!!
Please don't look at the week's forecasts - PLEASE! The weatherman you string up today might be my DS's boss in the future!
I opened up all the windows and enjoyed the 70 degree temps - had Mom over for dinner and we sat on the patio for a long time while DH did the dishes!!! Love that man! And what did she and I talk about - the cruise and all the people we have met so far and that I'm meeting now! Seems DIS is always with us!!!!
