Pam, welcome aboard.
If I read the paperwork correctly that comes with the tickets, (the little booklet about 2/3 way through) they don't take children into any of the "clubs" that are not potty trained. I would, however, make an effort on the day of sailing to contact the cast members at the Oceaneer Club and ask if you can be with the child while the activities are being conducted. They do allow parents/guardians to be present in the club for most activities. I have found that DCL makes as much accomodation for their guests as they can.
And did I read your post correct 31 family and friends? Wow, what a party you're going to have.
Again welcome aboard.

I'm ready for that warm sunshine right now... I've already snow blowed (if there even such a word!!) my driveway twice now, and the plow man keeps going by and putting it all back at the end of my driveway...I cleared out the end of my neighbors driveway once and the plow man came back around...He doesn't even look when I'm begging him not to plow us back in!!
expecting the storm to end sometime tomorrow with up to 24 inches of snow...I'm not going into work this afternoon, I'm having my work study student open the Fitness Center for the few crazy students who will venture out in this crazy weather!!
The only good thing about it is, my dog is outside loving the snow!!! he has on his fur coat, so he's nice and toasty!! looks like a polar bear when he comes in!
4 more weeks, 4 more weeks, 4 more weeks!! Carolyn~ what's the weather like down there now???

I have searched and researched--finally got a reservation for $83.30 at the Radisson. Just a standard room, not the suite.
I was going to do the reservation on their site for $89.00, but got this price from cheaptickets! First time I've ever used them. Even cheaper than expedia!
I also printed out the $79 coupon from roomsavers.com, but may not bother with that since the difference is not too much.
So in case you are looking to find a place to stay, try cheaptickets for prices! I had never even thought of using them for hotels!!!
Soon, we will be there!!!!:Pinkbounc

Jeanny~yesterday was sunny, warm and 80. Today, we had a cold front move in and it's windy, though sunny, and a high of 65. Tomorrow is supposed to be alittle warmer and by Wednesday it will be back to 84.
I'm sending warm and sunny thoughts your way!!

We have only 26 days to go.
Looking through the previous posts I have found that we have 23 posters to this thread. We should be able to have a really good DIS meet thanks to Brack and Jeanny who are attempting to set it up. I'm really waiting to hear the news. If there are any "lurkers" that are signed up for the cruise but haven't posted, please give us your name at least. There are only 15 names on the Unofficial Cruise List, so we do beat that list.
The "Author" names so far are:
AmyM
Batoncoach
Brack
Carlsons
CJSmith
DianeDisney
Disneystyle
Diznut84
Fawn
Jeanny
Jollytammy
Jtorrey
LVTravel
MarkLem
Mickeymom1
Minimahaki
Missouridisneyfans
Moinnb
Poopie
Princessdaisy
RKB
SandieDVC
Tangoman
I have compiled a table of names and some information from the posts and will have it available to all at the DIS meet (if no objections) which will give space to "fill-in" more details if you want to give it to someone special!
26 DAYS TO GO.....

Carolyn, I am just going back through the thread and "gleaning" information I see here (It is now public record) for the Cruise Information Sheet I am creating. If anyone would like to provide any additional information to the others in the thread they just need to post it here or they can send it to me via my special email address (jancruise@dmv.com) and specify it is for the Cruise Information Sheet.
The email address and information I am collecting to allow the children going on the cruise to contact other children (jancruise@dmv.com) will NOT be placed on the Cruise Information Sheet I am making for distribution at the meet as this information is private. The only way I would give this information out is with specific permission of its owner. This was originally started on 11-11-03 (post on page 13 about 2/3 way down.)

Well, we are less than 30 days to go and STILL NO DOCS:eek:
Called my TA and he is out of office for a few days and his assistant says "you don't get them untill two weeks before cruise date" in a wonderful sarcastic voice!
Greeeat! I feel so left out of the loop :( I want my docs!! boo hoo! Anyway, thanks for listening/reading my vent and whine. I will just keep waiting or call back in a few days and keep bugging the travel agency:tongue:

Stephanie I really feel sorry for you because you don't have your documents. I know how I felt without mine when everyone else was happy and giddy when they saw theirs. They will arrive, I promise. (I did call DCL directly to verify that my TA had made the final payment to DCL. They don't give any information out, they state that you have to go through the TA, but ask for a supervisor and insist on just knowing if final payment was made to DCL. You will need your booking number.)
Brack The countdowns were/are working on my browser OK. Must be yours? When I scroll back through the previous posts I find that some of them (I made note of it earlier in the thread) were not working on some posts. Don't know what is happening.
Jeanny, we need to make final plans for a meet before MarkLem and some others go to WDW the week before the cruise. We can make sure that they do get the word on the meet date, time and location before they leave their trusty computer at home. We don't want anyone to miss out.
Official countdown to Disney Magic is 25 days to go!!!!!!

Their docs came today. (and they are not even here! They are still at college and somehow the document excitement is not the same when you are emailed about it!)
Nothing for us, but I have a feeling they will show up tomorrow!
I am starting to get really worried that everything we want to take won't fit in our luggage! I have a whole tote bag full of essentials, snorkel equipment, and family band radios... that's half a suitcase right there! If you see me in the same outfit three days in a row, you'll know I ran out of room for clothes!!!
Seriously, I was excited to see in my daughter's docs (yes, I DID open them-- I couldn't help myself) that there is a currency exchange on board. I had been wondering how to get that money changed.
See you all soon! (I hope)

Brack, I got your email today but when I attempted to reply, AOL bounced the message back to me telling me I wasn't authorized.
I then attempted to use the email address on the original web site you created micanmin... but that was bounced also. I don't know if it is me or aol. I use Outlook Express as my email client and have not had any problem sending to my ex-boss who has AOL email account.
I'll send my response back in a PM on the Forum
22 days til WDW world...25 til the cruise!!! I am having a REALLY hard time WAITING!!! I have planned SOOOO much but still feel ill prepared! I have been dubbed the compulsive planner by my family. I run my own business and know when to let go. This is definitely NOT true as far as Disney goes! In my spare time I coach a gymnastics team. At our first meet yesterday one of my team girl's parents informed me that her daughter would miss a meet in January because they were going on a Disney cruise. I could hardly contain myself!!! I asked if they were on the Eastern or Western?. What category were they in? Do you have a verandah? What excursions are you planning on doing? She looked at me like I was speaking a different language!!! She had NOOO idea that these were things that people knew ahead of time. I really wanted to take her cruise planning over!!! I feel soooo sorry for people that cruise without a clue. Although, I must admit that I did that on my first cruise. WDW can't come soon enough!!!
I just noticed I was the first post on page 19. Come on folks let's go for 20!!!

Ok, what does everyone think of meeting on Monday, (sea day) up on deck 10 around 2:00 p.m., that's kind of the middle of the day, right after lunch for most.. Brack-where's a good area to meet?? Overlooking the Mickey Pool or forward near the Basketball Courts??
Does anyone want to meet any earlier because of little ones napping time, etc? Or will most of the children want to be in the clubs?
And it the weather is inclement, we'll meet in Diversions (for right now) Ann is checking it out for me, she' s on this Saturday's Magic, and Poopie was going to look while she was there this past week and let us know what she thought too... we can always go to the Promanade lounge area in case of inclement weather... NOT that we're going to have ANY of that!!! I've had enough of "inclement" weather this weekend..I spent my birthday snowblowing and shoveling!! whoa!
Thanks everyone... see you soon!! I'm going to do a trial packing this weekend... yes I have no life!!!

Stephanie, you can hope that the delay in getting your docs is that they are trying to find a nice Verandah room for you also. Wouldn't that be a hoot. I would also like to see my son/family get an upgrade to an outside since I had to stick them in a Cat. 11 even though they wouldn't be right across the hall from us (come to think of it, that wouldn't be too bad either!).

dianedisney: congrats on the upgrade! We are on that deck too (7009). Looking forward to seeing you guys again.
We are looking forward to seeing you all ... soon.
All of these invites to visit rooms!!! We sailed in a Cat 5 last cruise and have booked the grandparents in one this cruise. We are in a Cat 3...yes you read right we are in one of the Cat 3's that has the pull down in the living room. You are all of course invited for a tour!!! I can't wait to see it! I have only seen pictues on Ducklite's website.
Oops...I forgot to add we are in cabin 8032:)

Amy, you were so proud of being at the top of page 19, well, you also made page 20.
Go ahead and rub it in. Cat. 3. In my dreams I dream of the Disney suites.
Jeanny
12-10-2003, 09:11 AM
Ok, forget meeting on Deck 10, we're taking over Amy's suite!!! (Only joking!!!)
I laughed when I saw I was at the top of page 20! I have second guessed the Cat 3 a few times. We are planning on building a house next summer and we could sure use the money there:) But my husband says...it's paid for, we're going to go and enjoy! Did I mention he's a really great guy!!!
I'm definitely ready for the cruise. We received our first measurable snowfall last night. Schools are currently running late and closing in the area.

12-10-2003, 09:17 AM
Just to keep it separate and to not give Amy a heart attack~~~
The official meeting place will be on Deck 10 overlooking the Mickey pool on Monday, 1/5 at 2:00 p.m.
have a great day everyone~~:sunny:
Jeanny...I'm a little slow on the take today. I checked out a Cat 3 when they were chasing us off the ship last time and although they're roomy, we would sure be cozy!!!
My kids are a little mad, it looks like all the schools in the area are closing but ours:rolleyes: I guess it's time to get them dressed and out the door:) That way I might actually get some work done today.

12-10-2003, 10:15 AM
Hey, we keep going today and Amy will be on top of page 21. I think we need to take a field trip from the meet to Amy's stateroom (suite).
Never second guess a good thing. Go with that gut instinct that says "bigger is better". Bigger paycheck, bigger house, etc. Of course that ends up with a smaller bank account. Why leave any money for the kids. Enjoy it while you can.

12-10-2003, 05:03 PM
DON'T EVEN joke about snow in Key West because it was almost cold enough.
The cold front inflitrated all the way down into the Bahamas.
The day at Nassau was ok, not much sun about 75 temps, then it rained cats n dogs in the afternoon.
We did NOT make the docking at CC as it was too windy and the currents were just too stong for the ship to fight.
I would have been much sadder had I not had the Jan 3. booked.
I forgot to check out Diversions, sorry.
I hope we have better weather for our upcomming trip.
Overall I did have fun despite a sore throat that kept me from eating, I lost 11 pounds on my 2 week WDW,Wonder vacation. That's a 1st!!! YIPPIEE!!!!
Hopefully my cold weather and missing CC will mean we will have great weather and make the docking at CC. ::yes:: of course it will.

Hey guys I have some new ways to countdown to our cruise:
I was watching the Magic pull out of Port Canaveral tonight and I thought that it will only pull out two more times without me on it.
Also, the other night (before the snow) I saw the full moon and thought that the next full moon I see will be on the 4th day of our cruise, January 7th. Great photo op!
I'm I obsessed or what?

Lauretta, I am so sorry to hear about your foot's ligament problem. Here's wishes and pixie dust for a really speedy recovery.
I know what it is like to be in a "resort" area with a bad leg. Did WDW for 7 days in a wheelchair after tearing my calf muscle in half on a golf outing in Las Vegas the previous week. "Picture Weekend at Bernies movie. My wife even gave me one of those through-the-head arrows to dress me up. Turnabout was fair play, she had to push the wheelchair. Least I could do was let her make a fool out of me."
Jeanny, hope you dodge the next snow bullet coming your way. We did here on the Eastern Shore of Maryland. Just about 1/2 inch of snow and then wash it away with the followin rain. I knew we wouldn't get much snow as I just bought a new snow shovel. (My old one was bent in half in my shed and was really difficult to shovel with).
1:30 PM also seems like a good time to me for the DIS meet. Be there with a smiling face (I'm on another cruise.)
Brack and all others - I've only been on a couple of cruises were we were away from all the lights of land during a full moon. It should be really great. Warm, bright with the love of your life at your side.
Hope everyone has a safe and happy holiday season. We will all be toghether in just 19 Days!

Thank you for the well wishes. I am not 100% sure that I still will be on crutches I will find out next week but I really think I will be in the same position that you were in"being pushed". I should get one of those arrows for my DH he is going to be pushing my chair and I am no feather weight! I am pretty sure that I will not be going on tour in the Grand Caymans but I don't feel to bad we will most likly be going on the Same Cruise sometime the end of July or early Aug.
We got snow today 4-5 inches and I can't tell you just how much we are looking foward to getting out of this weather! DH has been working since early this morning. He is second in command of puplic works. He is the guy that calls the men in who work the plows. He has a countdown clock on his desk reminding him of the EXACT time he has until his next vacation!
See you soon

Hi All
Without having to read back thru this vast array of posts, can anyone fill me in on any meets, etc, that have been arranged?
We've been SO busy this year...I can't wait to get away from it all. No better way to do that than Disney!

Yea. Another day down and fun to go. Only one more day of teaching classes before my students get their final exam then no more students till the end of March next year.....Hallelujah!
Jo, did you get my PM reference email lost? Meghan would like to email your daughters (12 & 13) but I lost the email you sent me.
The Cruise member list is coming along pretty well. Filling in many of the empty spots. Keep the info coming to jancruise@dmv.com (whatever you want shared with others on the cruise or private email addresses for the kids.)
Howdy All
Yes Jeanny, it sounds GREAT! I'm not sure I've ever needed a vacation so much in my life! :princess:
I never did read my pm's, but I just went and checked! If my Mickey ears weren't attached, I swear I'd lose my...well, my ears! :earseek:

Jo, anything that you want other cruisers to know about you and your family that haven't been placed on this forum. I have attempted to glean all information from the forum and I am creating a table with Acoount name, real name/s, city and state, children's names and ages, cabin number, and others traveling with you. I will also distribute email addresses only if you authorize it in advance or if I pick it up here at the forum.
This list will be given out at the DIS meet on Monday, unless I see you earlier (look for me in a bright red polo shirt among 6 others with the same bright red polo shirt. My real name will be on the shirt below the logo). The list will have room to add other info from the people you meet on the cruise if you desire to write it down.

WOW!! thanks for all the hard work on the list! That was really terrific of you! Especially at this time of year when we're all hectic with the holidays! Can't wait to see everyone!
Happy Holidays

P.S. They are saying snow flurries here in eastern North Carolina!!! The kids have one more day of school and they have their fingers crossed that it will snow and school will be cancelled! (The bad thing is that they don't think about the fact that they'll have to make that day up later on!)
OK, we will be looking for the red shirts. You aren't from NE by any chance, eh? :hyper: I sent some more info to you by private message.
Had a Bahama Mama at a Christmas party last night. I am SO ready for this cruise!!!
The only sad thing was that our one son cannot make it. However, we were able to find a last minute replacement with our daughter Becca's boyfriend, Ryan. He's a sweetie, and this will give us a chance for some real bonding time. (We think he's the ONE...shhhhh!)

That sounds so great. I am sure they are going to be thrilled. There is nothing greater than walking into your cabin with a gift waiting for you. I had champagne and chocolate covered strawberries waiting for my DD and her DH on their honeymoon last October. She was so excited she had to call me when they got into their cabin and she called again when the Castaway Club gifts arrived.
Last Feb. we ordered the same gift for my friends who were celebrating their anniversary only this time I got to see their expressions when they received the gift.

Oh! So close, yet so far! I keep looking at my calendar and wonder if January will ever get here. My grandkids are just about ready to go crazy with their family asking if they are excited. They also are wondering if January will ever get here.
Jo, got your PM and Bracks as well. Info added to the list. I'll try and have plenty of copies of the list at checkin - so if you see me just walk right up and introduce yourself. (I'll be the "Fat Old Fart with the silvery hair in the Red Shirt" (no--- not the one that comes down the chimney at Christmas, time even though my grandkids think I am).
Hurry, Hurry, Hurry. Get the packing done (DW says she is totally packed except for her dressy dress. Yeah, right).
I do have all my clothes packed except for that which I have had to wear while teaching and going to all the DGKs Christmas pagents.
Hope the countdown timer works on this post so I can see that we only have 14 days to go.....

Carolyn, poor girl! "still using all of our shorts and shirts" That's what you get for living in warm, sunny Florida. I would venture a guess that you aren't in those shorts now though. Weather.com says it is about 50 degrees there now.
Lauretta, the Embassy Suites are about 1 mile from the airport and is located at 5835 T.G. Lee Blvd. which is off Fl 436 (the road out of the airport. Which Ramada? Their web site shows many in Orlando area but none near the airport. The closest to the airport that I can find is quite a distance.
Jo. I am from the Eastern Shore of Maryland. Never been to NE (Nebraska?) in my life. Did DH also attempt to get in the mood by having one?
Jeanny
12-19-2003, 06:39 PM
hey Carolyn~
we're going to have a heat wave up here next week... starting out in the 30's, getting up to the 40's, with rain on Xmas Eve and maybe Xmas day... that's ok, at least it won't be snowing (like last year) or really cold (the kind where it hurts to breathe!!)..
I have my small suitcase kind of packed.. but I have to move it before I break my foot on it when I walk around the front of my bed!! Wouldn't want that!!! I have to get my larger suitcase down and transfer everything in.
Two weeks from right now, (hopefully) I will be ON the plane somewhere over LVT's house!! Watch for me.... I'll ask the pilot to dip the wing! LOL:wave:
Saturday, 1/3, I think I'll wear one of my Dean T-shirts (the college where I work)... that way you guys can all see me first and yell "HEY--JEANNY!! IS THAT YOU?????"
poopie
12-19-2003, 07:23 PM
packed, it was easy I just washed the dirty clothes from the last trip and therw them back in the suitcase.
I am worried about leaving my dress up clothes behind.
I have the garmet bag packed with shoes and snorkel gear but the actual garmets are hanging in my closet in a dust cover, I ope in my excitement to leave I don't just grab the garmet bags as is an run out the door. I'd better tie a note around the handle so I remember.
Wow 2 weeks from today I leave for the airport.

LVTravel
12-19-2003, 08:21 PM
Jeanny, won't do any good to dip the wings at us here in Maryland as we will already be at the Orlando Embassy Suites within 14 days from now. We are due to arrive at the airport in Orlando by 1:00 PM on the 2nd. Actually by the time you cross Maryland in 14 days I should already have had about 3 drinks at the Manager's reception at the hotel. Boy am I going to have a good time.
I'll be looking for the Dean College T-shirt at the check-in lines. What color is the shirt and how do I see the logo unless there is one on the back? Most people are facing the check-in counters and we can't see their faces.
I'll be at the Castaway Club check-in line and then onto the ship.
Jeanny
12-19-2003, 08:52 PM
that's right LVT, I forgot you're leaving a bit before us... well, we'll dip at your house any way!! we get into MCO around 8pm and will walk over to the Hyatt.
Jacqui is a Castaway Club member, so I assume, at least at this point, we too may be in that line.
I'll probably have on my red Dean shirt on. it has a big bulldog with "Beware of Danger" on the back and Dean Dog Pound on the front... My Men's Basketball Coach designed it for his team.
Long range forcast on www.accuweather.com looks good for down there... let's hope it stays that way.

This "poor girl" has stil been wearing her shorts!!!!
It's unseasonabley cold for this time of year, but it's still around 70 during the day with very strong sun. It's just very cold at night. By Wednesday we're supposed to warm back up to be closer to 80. Once we get closer, I'll be sure and post a current weather report so we know what it will be like in Key West.
We're also leaving on the 2nd, but heading for the Radisson at the Port, anyone else staying there?
Just think, 2 more weeks and we'll be on the Magic!!!!
LVTravel
12-20-2003, 03:31 PM
Jeanny, you can still dip your wings at my house. It will appreciate it as there will be no one there to keep it warm and cozy. We will be the ones warm and cozy.
Carolyn, here in Maryland it is currently unseasonably cold but the weatherman says it is normal for this time of year. Of course if it gets below 60, it's unseasonably cold to me (where is a location that stays between 75-80 and 30-50 percent humidity year round with no earthquakes?
Brack, tell Annette that it is OK to be obsessed with Disney and she can keep taking you there as much as she/you want. What a wonderful wife.
Yes, in just 2 short weeks we will already be on the ship, eaten lunch and finished our tour of the ship. We will be getting ready to go to the cabin to get our life jackets for the emergency drill (4:30 PM) and then getting ready to sail at about 5 PM.

Stephanie, it is on Deck 7 all the way aft and there is also one on Deck 8 all the way aft. Go through door at the end and there you are. They are supposed to be fairly private. You can see pictures of them at http://www.***************** then scroll down and click on the 6th line (Secrets of...) under the picture on the left side of the screen. Click on Secret Deck 7 & 8 overlooks for pictures of the doors and what they look like on the outside.

Jeanny, the countdown clock has been going haywire for some time now, especially toward the bottom of the page. I also saw that one of Brack's posts didn't have his usual signature in it but the space for the signature was there. Really strange.
Well, Jo, if you are really a Bahama Mama this should be an interesting cruise. Lucky man your husband is! I also agree with your sentiment about getting to sea soon.

Jeanny, you'll be happy to know that the cold temps should be over for now down here in Florida. It's supposed to start warming up and Christmas is going to be 78 and sunny. Let's just keep our fingers crossed that the weather stays this way for our cruise.
I'm also keeping my fingers crossed that the countdowns work today since I can't count on my own!!!! Not only are they not working, but I can't see a lot of the pictures that people have in their signatures.

It must be Board software problem because only some of the countdowns are working and now my logo picture is not showing.
LVTravel
12-22-2003, 07:11 PM
The problem is the board's providers becoming upset that we are going to go on the Disney cruise and they can't go. Notice that the countdown timer disappears earlier and earlier in the posts.
Brack, I see you lost your logo on the Jan 10th cruise thread also but they haven't lost their countdown timer. I'm going to email the forum providers and see if they can do something about it.
Lauretta, better watch out or this will be the "Week at Lauretta's" (the new and improved "Weekend at Bernie's) with all the kidding and toys. Now where did I put that arrow?
Carolyn, just make sure that the boss down there turns up the heat for us poor Northerners. 75-90 would be just fine and plenty of sunshine also would be nice.

Of Course it's going to snow on Friday, 1/2.. That's because I've made travel plans... I'm cursed!! I'm traveling, so the weather will be wicked bad... If I waited until Saturday Morning, it would have been bad weather that day instead. Last year, we went to WDW the day before Thanksgiving, yeah, it SNOWED that morning. At Christmas, I wanted to go down to the Cape, it SNOWED... Oh well, I can't control the weather, I've learned to live with this family curse!
At least I don't have the luck my brother had... every time he went somewhere on vacation. a hurricane hit shortly after he returned home. ooooh, did I say that out loud??
LVTravel
12-23-2003, 08:36 AM
Jeanny, I'll try to keep you posted on the days left although the hours are different for me than others. I set my countdown timer to 1:00 PM on the 3rd. I figured that I would be very optimistic in that I know the lines getting on the ship can be long. My timer is set for when I know I will be on the ship.
And, be quiet about the snow. Remember that the planes that come into Baltimore normally come from up North. You get snow and I have to drive to Florida. The Jeanny curse will be broken. The pixie dust that will fly up that way will prevent the snow.
Lauretta, not a bad idea for the National Lampoon's Cruise Vacation movie. I know, you just don't want to be the star.
Looks like we have a group of people here with a wierd sense of humor (hey, just like me). We are going to have a blast.
Hope everyone on the West Coast are OK after the shaking going on yesterday.

You may have the weather curse. I am cursed with the High Security Alert!!! 3 out of 5 high national security alerts I was flying both domestic and internationally. Ths does not include the fact that I was at WDW on 9/11!!!! This past Feb. on the members only cruise as we were checked in at the parking lot we were informed that there were divers swimming under the ship. Hope everyone had a great Christmas.
It's now 9:35 PM EST on Christmas Day and all the presents are unwrapped; the cruise gifts have been given and received; those that didn't know they were going on a cruise now know. Only one more holiday to go and then we sail.
All at our house really enjoyed giving the special little gifts of travel to the children and grandchildren. The shirts were very well received and as long as they all fit, everyone will be wearing the red ones at cruise check-in and sail-a-way.
Brack, you sound just like a kid. Couldn't sleep while waiting for Santa. I just want to know how he got into your house without you hearing him delivering the presents?
Jeanny, since the countdown timer has gone by the wayside again, we have 8 days 15 hrs to go until our cruise and only 7 days and a wakeup till we fly out. Woohoooooooo!

YAHOO....::yes::
Santa was very very good to me this Christmas. I got lots and lots of Disney Dollars in my stocking for Molly's & my cruise.
PLUS...:hyper:
A Mickey and the gang clock for my sewing/study room and a new Mickey Mouse TV and DVD player...so cool. A new Mickey shirt to wear on the cruise and soundtrack of Pirates of the Caribbean to listen to on the plane.
Oh my God.......:earseek: I hope I can wait for Jan 2 to get here to get on that plane and head south.
See you all on the cruise pirate: .
Have a very Happy New Year.

One week from today and I will not be able to sleep and getting ready for the limo to pick us up for the ride to the airport!!

Jeanny~ the weather has been warming up down here in Florida.

Thanks Jeanny for pointing out the day. I was so wrapped up in telling where and what time I forgot to mention the day. The first day at sea seemed to be the best and that's Monday. Hope to see all of you there.

BRFGolfNut: I'm leaving my clubs home. It's too much weight to haul around.
I don't know about the golf excursions on the cruise but one of my dreams is to play the WDW courses. Maybe next time.
LVTravel
12-27-2003, 04:03 PM
BRFgolfnut & Brack. I'm not taking my golf clubs either. Most of the golf excursions have fairly decent clubs for rent. If you are planning to golf, take your soft-spike shoes though I don't think the rental golf shoes are good. (I normally wear regular "walking" tennis shoes to play golf on level courses without problems.) I have done a couple of excursions when travelling with friends who golf. The costs are about what the other cruise lines charge. Haven't played golf on any of the stops that we have on this trip.
Think we may be able to get a 4-some up? Either Grand Cayman or Cozomel are good for me. I'm not very good (scores in the range of 110-125 normally) but I do like to see the scenery and have a good time with friends. The DW does not golf much and will probably want to spend time in the spa while I'm gone.
Carolyn, great news on the tag.
BRFgolfnut - If you want others to be able to contact you during or after the cruise, send an email to jancruise@dmv.com and provide info that you want on the cruise list I am creating. So far the list is fairly complete. (Real name, Others travelling with you name and age, cabin, city & state of residence and any other info you want any others to see.) As stated before, the info will be given only to cruise mates.
7 days from today at this time we will all be on the Magic. Cruise sail-a-way party begins in one hour.

Jeanny, probably the same thing that is in your 4 bottles ("2 for us and 2 if anyone else needs them"). Maybe bubbles!
Got a question. Just looked at our return air and found that they changed our flyout time from early afternoon to 5:30 PM on the 10th. Anybody have any ideas to kill the time from getting off the cruise and having to be at the airport (the shuttle will drop us at the airport directly from the cruise ship). Wish it could be a day in WDW but the time won't permit.
Wow you guys are soooo prepared! I just got home from my last Christmas party. My goal is to put all the Christmas decorations away tomorrow and then bring out the suitcases to start packing:teeth:

LV Travel. Just an idea how to spend your time at MCO...... I'm sure the shuttle will drop you off early in the morning what I would do is rent a cheap car for the day and head off to the Disney hotels to explore (Animal Kingdom is my favorite), have lunch at Wolfgang Pucks at Downtown Disney and stop by the Florida Mall or Millenia Mall on the way back early afternoon. Everything is very easy to find and fairly close to the airport esp. the Florida Mall.
Everyone Else,
We're packing today. We live in Destin, Florida and the weather is cold. It's hard to imagine swimsuits and shorts even living in Florida. This is our fouth DCL vacation I thought for sure I had backing to a minimum. However with trying to be prepared for hot, cold and inbetween weather we are right back with taking a lot of stuff...
We've had a busy season as everyone and it was so nice the day after Christmas to get REALLY excited realizing it is just around the corner. A Jimmy Buffet song was playing on the radio and I called friends of ours that are going with us and screamed and held the phone next to the radio. I'm sure they appreciated that message! :teeth:
Looking forward to the Dis meet. I'm a little gun shy when it comes to things like that, but I think It will be nice to introduce my husband to a bunch of other people that also spends lots of time on these boards. Can't wait.
Safe travels to everyone......

Disneystyle, Thanks for the info. Might be able to talk the kids into it.
If you want to send information for the DIS meet use jancruise@dmv.com. I am collecting info for fellow cruisers with whatever you want to pass on to those lifelong friends you will make on the cruise. (See previous posts to this thread) So far the only information I have about you is that you are travelling with children and friends (kids 4-7). Looking for real names, cabin numbers, home town and state (FL). Of course you can keep it private if you want and we will all understand.
Brack. I didn't get any of Marks info either but I have gleaned quite a lot from the boards. Hope he posts back to you or emails the above email address before he goes.
The more I see you write, the more I learn. You and Annette and Ruth & I have been married the same amount of time. (She and my mother only gave it 6 months) 11-20-71 was the date of infamy for me.
We have a tree that we leave up all year round. It's called our travel tree. It has ornaments and momentos from our travels (every place we go new we buy an ornament of some type). It grew this year from a small 3 1/2 footer to a 7 1/2 footer. Now occupying the corner of the room where my recliner used to be. That way I don't have to put up a tree every year. I only have to put up our crab lights on the deck (Cheasapeake Bay crabs only on the string). When we used to have a real tree, we decorated it with Mickey and Minnie lights and Flamingo and Palm tree lights. People did think us wierd.

Mark Got the emails for the info OK. The crab lights are just plastic shells that go over the white mini-lights. Would really be interesting if they were real. And congratulations on the counter. Mine is sitting at 5 days and hours to go till we're on the ship.
dianedisney The DIS meet will be held on Deck 10 above the Mickey pool at 1:30-2:00 PM on Monday the 5th (the first non-port day). Some are going to winetasting after. Some will probably hang around talking. Since I don't do wine (my DW is the winer (sp) in the family) I'll probably stay and gab.

Jeanny come on now, we may be big but we aren't that "large" yet. As a matter of fact the DW has lost about 15 pounds (go Ruth). We all have a long way to go.

Carolyn, even though she would be expecting it, it would still be embarrassing to her and so much fun for us. Imagine the looks on the faces of all those people not knowing what is going on (missing out on the fun) when 20+ people yell the name of one of our own.
Disneystyle, thanks for posting her also. Looks like a decent set of movies for the TV. If I catch some of each movie many times during the week, I'll have seen each movie to its completion.

Chicago

Haunted Mansion
I can't remember the others. The one where the house is possessed for something, I think that Kurt Russell is in it or something is also on there.

:( OK ... I am not happy. We will not be able to get to the ship until probably after 2pm on Saturday. It turns out that the DCL transport from the resorts doesn't start picking up until about 11am. Then it has to make rounds to the resorts to pick up. We are meeting it at the Swan and it is scheduled to be there about 12:20pm! I have thought about taking the limo but my DW says to be patient. So you early birds try to save some fun for me. Watch for me. I'll be the one in a blue, big flowered Mickey polo .... running for the ship, dragging Annette!

I decided not to bring along my golf clubs as there will be so many other things to do in port. I'll have my DW put the $250.00 (or so) to better uses. I know that she will be able to figure out something for it. LOL.

What is everyones guess for weather??????
Even being in Florida it hard to imagine it being warm enough to swim.....
Packing for four is taking me so much longer than I would like........

Ok, I officially finished packing yesterday! Of course I have way too many suitcases, but what are you going to do?
Yesterday was very warm here and today it's beautiful, sunny and a high of 79. It looks to stay that way through the weekend so Key West should be great, just a couple of degrees colder.
Everyone who's leaving for Florida, happy and safe travels.
Brack - we are also catching the DCL bus at the Swan. My TA told me it should be about 11:30, but for me to call and confirm. It is good to hear the "real" time. Does this mean lunch will be completely over when we arrive?!
We are getting excited. We are almost packed. I can't believe it is time!!!

I bet that you might just make the lunch. WHy not call the cruise line and check. They called me today informing me that they got the medical forn from my MD and that I did not have to report for the drill. This was a big concern of mine. I didn't want to hold up the people going down 3 flights of steps. They told me that I would need to go down to the area some time and be aware of my station. I told them my cabin is on deck 7 & I know my station is on deck 4 I think it is station 4 almost by the doors.
Safe trip to all who are leaving.
Lauretta
I know I'm overthinking this WAY too much... But how long do you think it will take to get from our hotel to checked in? Tiffany Towncar to load our luggage at the Polynesian, unload at the port, go thru security, and then check in at the port?
Jeanny

Hey Everyone~
check out my new tags!!!!!
Hey Amy~
I would imagine it would only take a little more than an hour to get from the Polynesian to the Port... but with Level Orange in effect, it may take a little longer to get through security. Having never cruised before, but I would allow at least 45 minutes to get through security & checked in.

DARN! Work just threw us a loop and my husband now has a 1:00 meeting in St Petersburg on Friday. I'm trying to get him a one way rental car that he can drive up and return in Port Canaveral so the kids and I can drive up there ourselves on Friday. Otherwise, he has to drive all the way home and then turn around and we have to drive all the way back up to the port and will get there so late. Keep your fingers crossed that it all works.

Thanks Jeanny. I found a one way rental with Budget and they have a place that's 0.3 miles from the Radisson, so we're all set. Now, I just have to deal with the 3 kids in the car alone for the 4 plus hours!!
HAPPY NEW YEAR EVERYONE!

I can't believe it's almost here
The ship sails in just 3 days and 5 hours.
Amy If you get this before goingo to Fla., have a safe and fun trip for you and your travelling companions. (even if you don't get this have the same)
Carolyn I know everything will work out for you and your DH. Work can be so frustrating at times and the demands can be ridiculous. Don't they know that he's going on a Disney Cruise?
Happy New Year Everyone!

Thanks LVTravel! I know, you would think that my husband's company would realize that the Disney Cruise is more important than anything else, but no, they expect him to actually work on his work day!!! He really doesn't have Friday off and this is a prospect meeting for a new client and that's what pays for our Disney cruises, so I guess I'll have to let him go!
I just checked the local weather and the weather for our ports. Saturday looks to be around 74 with sun and clouds for our sailaway with a low in the 60's. Sunday is Key West should be sun and clouds and a high of 76. Grand Cayman looks wonderful with sun & clouds, (noticing a theme here!) and a high of 85 with a chance of rain in Cozumel and a high of 83 there. Of course, things could change, but it still sounds great. Hopefully we won't have the rain in Mexico.

Hey Carolyn, the weather sounds absolutley gorgeous!!! It's 43 up here right now... it's a heat wave for us!! I'll check tomorrow and see what the weathermen have in store for our takeoff on Friday afternoon!
See you Saturday!
Happy New Year everyone!

Jeanny I was so afraid that you wouldn't be able to make a reservation for the Parasailing. Glad it worked out for you. Can't believe that the DCL email kept getting bounced back. (I have one computer that I can't bring up the Disney.com web site but if I type in a specific URL it works OK. Go figure!). Computers sure are fickle.

We're almost done packing completely. Our flight leaves at 7am so this will probably be my last post for awhile. I'll see you there.
It has been a rough 24 hours because Annette thought that I had forgotten to plan a birthday party for her. (she's a Jan 1 baby) I drove her all the way to Tulsa from Oklahoma City to do what she thought was a program but when all her friends jumped out of a room and yelled "Happy Birthday" she was really surprised. I did good!

Stephanie Looking forward to meeting you and your family. I'll bet you will be tired. It is a looonnnnngg flight from the west coast. I believe you said that you would be in about 10 PM. Remember to call my room from the front desk. I'll leave word there that it is OK to call when you check in. If Meghan is still up, maybe she and Nicole can get together for a short time while you are getting settled (gets one out of the way for a short period of time).

To All Who Are Travelling With Us.
We do wish you a safe and enjoyable trip to the port and speedy check-in lines.
I won't be back on the board until after we check-in at the ship (unless I get online at the hotel tomorrow afternoon).
I have the Cruise Information List printed. If you see me at the cruise check-in and want a copy, just ask. Otherwise I will have them at the sailaway party on Deck 10, aft of the pool area or at the DIS meet on Deck 10 on Monday at 1:30 PM.
Best to all!

Ok, so the My Family Travel Curse continues!!!

THIS time it's happening BEFORE.... oh well... and to boot, some drunk jerk was arrested last night at PVD (T F Green) where we're flying out of tomorrow for a threat!!!! Great,, they didn't close the airport (this time).. just my luck... at least it's not going to snow tomorrow!!! YEA.
I'll check back tomorrow before I leave...
Carolyn, & LV~ see you Saturday!! have a safe journey.

OF COURSE IT'S SNOWING TODAY!!! That's because I made plans to leave today!! 1-3" hopefully, the roads won't be too bad... I did see the sander out already. OH, MAN!!!
We're all packed,,, and ready to go,,, well almost. I need to stop at the bank and change my change into $$ and stop at Target or Wal-Mart and get some headphones for my CD player... of course, I can't find my extra set.
Took the kitty to the vets this morning, so she's all set... I took the doggy, Tucker, on Monday, so he's all groomed and ready to go to the next door neighbors for his weeklong play group!

Verandah Man Thanks for the pics.
Well the Sullivan family, 4 generation trip was a success. We all got home safely at 11:30 PM after a stressful day of exploring, travelling, eating airport and other non-Disney food (will my stomach ever recover?).
Don't remember now who advised to go the AK lodge for the break between getting off the ship and going to the airport but, Thank you. Was an experience I was glad I had. Whole family enjoyed it.
The DIS meet was a little disappointing though. Many of the ones on this thread didn't show up. Boo Hoo. Guess we will never get to meet them.
Brack (well Annette) did take the picture of those that responded to the call for an appearance and I'm sure that he will post it to this thread when he gets back from the extended stay. (Just think, he has another 6 nights of the Magic.)
Best to all and I hope all got back safely!
