First off, I just wanted to say how much I've been enjoying reading everyone's trip reports. It's like virtual people watching, if you will! I am working on a trip report for our stay at the AKL Feb. 11-16, but right now I'm flat on my back with the flu and can hardly string 3 or 4 coherent sentences together at best.

So, for now, a Trip report in pictures (my favorite way of documenting these events, anyhow.) Cast of characters is darling partner Keith, very often also known as Sparky, or Sockboy, or the crazy-guy-out-cycling-in-the-30-degree-weather-athlete and me, Caroline or simply "C".

You're very welcome.

All I can say is I hope this goes away soon. I don't know where this virus came from but it's knocked us all out, couldn't sleep, fever, and I feel like my head is going to explode. But enough whining....I'll work on that trip report!

I am looking forward to your trip report!

P.S. Your Keith sounds like one of my kids who would cycle in sub zero weather if I let him. Our New England weather this winter didn't leave him much leeway!

I love your photos - thanks for sharing them. I'm curious about the dancing - where was that? We spent 2 nights at AKL in December - your photos really show the special parts of the resort.

"The Dancing Incident" as we refer to it happened in Animal Kingdom, in Africa (Harambee?) It was a lot of fun as soon as I decided just to have fun and not be self conscious. The drummer showed us each of the steps and has us mimic him, and then we put it all together and sped it up. Way up... I was glad that I'm used to that kind of thing (from teaching music in the past) and could follow along. Who am I kidding though. I'm a big ham...

Thanks for the nice comments on the photos...

More trip report to come soon...maybe later today?:bounce:
