Just got back from our 4 day wonder cruise and the VWL for 3 days. This trip was planned less than two weeks ago, lol.
Overall we liked the VWL. Our home resort is the BCV, but they were not available. We had studio #3510, overlooking the bus stop area. No complaints. Bigger than I expected for a studio really.
The pool area is nice. Pool hopped to the Polynesian (nice perk for being a DVC member!).
I think the VWL's lobby is amazing and the boat ride to the Magic Kingdom is very convenient!
At one point, DH said that we should have bought more points, lol instead of building our in ground swimming pool last year, lol. (nothing but problems with that, but that's another thread!) :)
DVC was def. for us! Getting a studio at the very last minute was so convenient and "free" - saved us more out of pocket money for this last minute trip. Plus I doubt I would have ever checked out the VWL before. Now I know I would stay there again. :)
