I posted on the CB and was told to post over here for guidance. We are going to Montreal & Mont Tremblant over Easter. We will have our 3 kids ages 1,3, & 5. We are staying at Delta Montreal and I am not sure about Mont Tremblant yet. I thought we could do the botanical gardens, biodome and insectarium (sp) and just enjoy the city. Anything we should not miss? Any great restaurant reccomendations? And what can we expect the weather to be like in mid April.

Thanks so much.

Laura

Go to old Montreal, St Laurent street (Trendy Shops). Prince Arthur is another street where there is no traffic allowed and many restaurants. Have smoked meat at Schwartz', or Ben's or Reuben's in a pich and be ready to walk. The town only get's going after 9:00 at night.

It is a great city..... The concierge will help. Delta is a good location.

I was about to suggest the casino but I noticed you'll be with your kids :p There are also a lot of shops and boutiques on St. Catherines ... There's a large shopping mall with a couple floors but I can't remember the name ... that's also on St. Catherines. Traffic downtown can get pretty crazy on the weekend, so if you can try walking ... everything is fairly close.

One of my favourite places for breakfast in Montreal in called Chez Cora's ... there are lots of them around the city. I love their crepes! :p

The IMAX theatre at the Old Port......also at the Old POrt, there used to be a Maze for kids but I don't know if it's still open. St Joseph's Oratory. Boat tours. Easter is a little late in the year but going to a Cabane a Sucre (where they make Maple Syrup) is lots of fun

Weather........could be anything!! We almost always get a final snowstorm in early April. I would expect the Highs to be in the low teens (Celsius). I think that translates to high 50s or low 60s. Dress in layers!!

We just stayed at the Delta Centerville in Montreal over February vacation. I went to Montreal for Lazik surgery on my eyes. The hotel was nice and in a great area. We ate at Galianos, an Italian restaurant in Old Montreal recommended by the concierge. It was fabulous and so cozy! We took the kids to the Pepsi Forum. DH, DS and DD bowled then the kids played arcade games while we enjoyed a couple of cocktails. We loved the underground city and the shops at St. Catherines. If you go through the restaurant at the Delta you will end up in an office building. Go down 2 flights of stairs and there is a food court with a McDonalds, sandwich shops and The Second Cup which I think has the best coffee I've ever had, especially the Mochacinno...yum! I was amazed at how clean the city was and how neat and stylish everyone was. I was wearing sneakers and I felt out of place. Almost everyone was friendly to us...except the mean guy selling tickets in the subway but you get that in Boston too! I was really impressed with Montreal...can you tell?
