DD-Castaway, I'm not

My daughter went on DCL February 2002, so that makes her a member of the Castaway Club right? This is my first cruise, so I'm a newbie, would both of us be able to go the castaway "party" or just her? Is she eligible for any "castaway gifts"??
I don't want to say anything to her if she is, I want to surprise her when we get to the ship.

Your daughter is indeed a member of the Castaway Club. You'll want to mention this to your TA, or call DCL directly with the information to have it noted on her reservation. Then she'll receive a gift (currently a beach towel, I believe) and an invitation to the reception in her cabin. You'll be able to attend with her even though you've never cruised with Disney before. :)

I've learned so much from these boards and still learning!! Of course, DD thinks I'm obsessed, but she leaves the planning to me.

I went through DU for our cruise, I did mention it to them when I first booked, but I'll have to remind them, because I don't remember them stating anything in our emails.

My DD was the "newbie" on the DCL cruise that she accompanied us on, but she was still able to go to the Castaway reception with us.

You won't have any problem.:D

Family members and guests travelling with your party are welcome to the CC reception even if they have not cruised before.

Here is a link to the current CC gifts onboard. You will get two pins and one beach towel per stateroom.

she doesn't know what her castaway club # is, but I'm sure DU can find that out for us???

so with the towel (if that's what they're still giving) as a castaway club gift, that's one less souvenier we'll have to buy!! We usually try to buy a beach towel on our vacations and use them at home year round... comes in handy when we're in our pool.

If you call DCL or have your TA call DCL they will be able to get your CC number for you so you can write it down and have future use and so they can add it to your ressie.

We sailed on 1/4/03 and these were the gifts...I do not think they have changed them yet.

The towel is definitely still the CC gift and will be for quite a while, I'm sure. It's a nice towel! :)

Jeanny, just e-mail reservations@dreamsunlimitedtravel.com and they will be sure that your daughter's CC number is added to your reservation. :)
