There is a seven-letter word in the English language that contains ten words, all longer than one letter, without rearranging any of its letters.

What is the word and what words can be made from it?

Yesterday's:

Mrs. Jones turned to her husband and said, "I don't know what you're complaining about because if you gave me one of your parcels,
I would have twice as many as you and if I gave you just one of mine, we would have equal loads."

How many parcels were each carrying?

Mrs. Jones was carrying seven parcels and Mr. Jones was carrying five.

The saga of Mr. and Mrs. Jones continues.....;) :p :p :teeth:

I owe some YESTERPANTS for this one!

Which animal has no wings, yet will fly without aid of machine?

Caterpiller

Good Morning America How are yah?

Gettting off to a great start here today. yesterpants and todaypants.

Hopefully, we're in for a nice quiet weekend. Bought the tile for the bathroom countertop last night, so that is our only project....well...that plus repainting the stairwell to the family room and having the kids paint their handprints on the walls.....and buying a new mattress for DS11, and looking at stoves (mine died..uck).
Does anyone have a radiant top oven? Do you like it?

WAKE UP EVERYONE.....coffee is on..........

Nice morning spot OK. I've never staying in a POLE HOUSE before, even more interesting though, is the guest "family"

The 'elusive' cassowary. But not so elusive at Licuala Lodge. We have a resident family of cassowaries. Ma, Pa and one chick. Pa looks after the chick while Ma is gallivanting in the rainforest looking for a few new mates!!

ATTA GIRL!!!!! Bet she's headed over to check out Captain Underpants and the Thongmeister

If you have some spare PD and prayers, we need them at our school. At lunch recess yesterday one of the kids was badly hurt. I was on duty, but was dealing with a behaviour. The intermediate kids were jumping off the snow hill, and one of the boys decided to try a flip. Well, he landed on his head with his neck bent. By the time I got to him, he could not move at all, or feel his legs. We had to call an ambulance, and there is a possibility that his neck is broken

:( If you are so inclined can you please send some good thoughts his way. thanks.

I asked for a hint, but got the answer before the hint, so waiting for pants now.

We had a high of 38 yesterday!:bounce: Supposed to get up to 35 again today! DH is working out at the house all day today. He is trying to get all the wires pulled before the end of the weekend. They put most of the basement stairs in yesterday. It took them quite awhile to cut the hole to the basement.

In response to Gina's comment earlier, (I don't know if this would be considered 'junk' food LOL)

http://bertc.com/images/owl2a.gif

1 Good sized cooked hoot owl, boned and chopped
1 Stalk celery, diced
1 Onion, chopped
1 tb Oil
10 oz Package frozen broccoli, cooked and drained
1 c Sour cream
10 1/2 oz Can cream of hoot owl soup
Salt and pepper to taste
Warm tortillas
1 1/2 c Hoot owl broth
1 c Grated rat cheese

Mix the chopped owl, celery, onion, oil, cooked broccoli, sour cream, hoot owl soup, salt, and pepper together. Then you let them sit while you and the boys play "Never beat your Mother with a Great Big Stick." Be sure you don't play more than 6 choruses. Roll all of this stuff into the warm tortillas and place them in a baking dish. Then pour the hoot owl broth over them. You cook all of this stuff in a 325F oven for 20 minutes, or 3 choruses of "Dirty Me, Dirty Me, Oh How I Hate Myself." Make sure the onions are done. Then the last 5 minutes of cooking, place the grated rat cheese on top. Dish out the warm tortillas and hot sauce. Now then, if the moon is in the "getgone" and the wind blows in snuffs, there ain't goin' to be no hoot owls. In that case, you get Ernest T. Bass to steal you a good sized chicken and ya put that in instead. If you do that, while the chicken is cookin' you get the boys and play 6 choruses of "Don't Dance on the Table Charlene You Stepped in My Collard Greens." Serves 6.

There’s nothing pint-size about our Chocolate, Coconut and Koffee Kake Juniors. Good morning OK and the Corral

Mickey, more good wishes for that child's recovery.

Vanessa, what did Norah have? Sounds like she was one sick young lady.

I am still waiting for GS cookies to be delivered. We ordered but I haven't seen them yet.

I did, and still, like Tastykakes, especially Snowballs and Chocolate Junior. Snowballs were great the way they had the different colors for differnt times of year. Right about now the green ones should come out for St. Patrick's Day. I don't indulge anymore though.

I also liked jawbreakers and fireballs. We stopped at a pharmacy on the way home from school that sold them. Then we knew 2 more shops on the way home where we could stop to get drinks of water because our mouths were on fire from the fireballs.

I still don't know the riddle answer, but that is not really the issue here, is it??

Good morning all!!! I am very happy to say that the best thing about the day is that we got NO SNOW!!!! (that I could see) last night :bounce: I am so very happy!!! I just hope the second storm coming our way misses us too :)

Okay, you all are making me hungry!!!! I loved any of those mentioned that didn't have coconut in it. Good mornng everyone ....

Got a little confused w/ yesterday's riddle still on page 1 :jester:

No answer yet, I'll have to think on it but how about

Candy necklaces
Swedish Fish
wax lips
pop rocks
loved those red hot dollars, OK !
Still like pixie sticks ..... they had that same sugar high in liquid form that came in wax bottle shapes too !

Favorite salty snack to this day is Cheez-its !

Mickey, good thoughts and prayers go out to the injured student and for all who care for him !!

Happy Friday riddlers !

Good morning everyone!

Mickey - My heart just sank when I read your post about the little boy that was injured. Just a moment of goofing around. :( Definitely sending thoughts, prayers, and a lot of pixie dust his way.

Amid - sorry Norah is STILL not feeling well. She must have really been bitten by a virus bug. I hope she is better very soon.

JUNK FOOD - I remember riding my bike to a local icecreamery on summer afternoons with my friends. It had great oldfashioned ice cream floats etc... but they also had a candy wall that was filled with oldfashioned candy that you could purchase for a nickel (it was penny candy with inflation!). :) Some of my favorites: :teeth:

ATOMIC FIREBALLS
BOSTON BEANS
MARY JANES
HUBBA BUBBA BUBBLE GUM

mickeyfan1
02-28-2003, 06:57 AM
Mickey, I hope that boy is ok, I can only imagine how guilty the other kids will feel if he ends up being paralized. Lots of good thoughts going out to you.

Dianne, come do my dogs, they need something!

Stephanie - I have a Ceran top stove. (I take it yours is electric.) I wanted it because it is easier to keep clean. It gets much hotter faster than the regular stove. But nothing falls in the burners. You get a special cleaner for it, when something spills. If it gets really bad, you use a razor scraper to get the gunk off. I would prefer gas, but we don't have that option. The biggest draw back is forgetting the burner area is hot, and setting something on it, like plastic. Yuk, but there is a little picture with red lights to remind you. Of course that means looking!

Today is the big day at work. But I already know that I am safe from lay off. My boss informed me yesterday that she has a lot more work for me, since some of my work went away earlier in the year with our reorganization. Guess I have to stick it our a while longer. Only 5 years till 55, then I am retiring! You'd think they wouldn't mind letting me go after almost 32 years. Ah well, I get 42 days vacation, and make really good salary, I get to go to Disney 2 or more times a year, I guess it's not all bad, NOT LIKE THIS RIDDLE!!!!!!!!!! I was too distracted to do math yesterday, and I really hate English! I'll give it a shot later.

Enjoy your Friday. DH is not working tomorrow, the first Saturday he has had off since October. We are going paint shopping for our guest room, he may put new floors in our bathrooms, gotten weed the vacant lot (part of our back yard) I won't know how to actg with him home 2 days in a row. Maybe we'll even..................

Morning everyone! Being that I was one of the few who voted for math riddles  I think I will be pantless for a while today.

Amid and OK - hope your DD's are feeling better soon.

Mickey - please update us on his condition soon. What an awful thing to go through.

Gail - I love Snyder's of Berlin cheese popcorn. It is my absolute favorite snack in the whole world. The only bad thing is trying to hide my orange fingers after I've eaten the whole bag! I also love the candy dots on paper. We have an old-fashioned penny candy store here in Cranberry. It's been around for ages. They even add everything up on an old-fashioned cash register. The kids love to go there.

and anything with FLUFF...

Morning Riddlers ... :D

Well, so far so good:
- appraisal has been ordered/done
- title search is underway,
- mortgage documents being prepared.

With any luck I will be able to close on Mar. 30th.

It's been a crazy week with work, plus I've been dropping Kasie
off at daycare everyday, so I get into work late and don't
have much time to check the riddle.

Well, next week will be better.

Hope all is well in your piece of the world.

Good Afternoon all! Sunny here today, but I wish it would warm up enough to melt more of the snow. I can't see traffic coming very well when I back out of my driveway. That's the trouble with a double driveway ~ more snow=bigger piles.

I haven't had much time to spend on the riddles lately, if the answers haven't jumped out at me. I'm knee deep in paperwork trying to make sure things are organized before our trip next week, since Dan and Tim aren't going with us. I thought it would be less work, but it's turning out to be more!

I'm so sorry to hear about the student, Mickey. I hope it's not as bad as it sounds.

Hope Nora and Erin are feeling better soon. I have Dan home today.

Happy Saturday!

Well, I finally got back to this one, and figured out why y'all are remembering the good old days-although a lot of those things my kids love for treats. We can get decent deals on Pixie Stix and candy necklaces at the local candy/cookie factory. And my 11 yo's teacher gives them a Pixie stick when they show her something limegreen Do you think she's a closet DIS'er??

Mickey, I'm keeping that youngster in my prayers; you, too, since I know how it feels for someone to get hurt when you are the one on duty. Kids don't realize how easily things can go wrong!

Hugs to all the ones who haven't been feeling well-Norah and Erin. And, finally, thanks for the pic of Bernie. I hadn't seen one before in my quick jumps in and out of the site. OK, it's YOU! :D
