View Full Version : How about a 'WISH Family' Photo Album!

02-26-2003, 11:54 AM
Use this thread to post a picture of yourself with a little getting to know you info attached! We can later 'edit' our posts on this thread to include some progress pictures as well as (eventually) our 'after' pictures (when we reach goal).

You will have to post your picture to some sort of a server (I belive that the DIS now has its own server). Right click on your picture and click on Properties. Cut the http address. In your post click on the IMG button above and paste (the http address). Using the IMG button will attomatically change the http address to an image post. If you can't figure out how to post your picture somewhere --- feel free to email it to me and I can add it to my website.

ETA: This thread has been going on for quite some time. We Mods have decided to update this thread hoping that we can get more inspiration from our WISH members. /Tiger Lily 03

You're all so cute, and look like you're having so much FUN!!! Jody, thanks for helping put faces with these names.

Here I am, in a photo taken 04/2003. In this photo I'm about 25 pounds lighter than my WISH starting weight. (Only about 45 more to go! :o )

My name is Kathy. I've been married for 13 years and have one DS who's almost 10. We live in Texas (I'm a native Texan, and have trouble living anywhere else!) We share our home with one very old and spoiled Lab mix named Sambuca.

I grew up tall and skinny, with nicknames like "stringbean". That lasted until about the time I got married at 29. Then came pregnancy! I ballooned to about 230 lbs. I've been battling the weight ever since. Since DS is 9, I guess I can't call it baby fat anymore.;)

I work in IT, so I spend a lot of time sitting in front of a keyboard. I've never been one for exercise or sports, other than swimming or chasing the dog as I attempt to walk her. (She usually walks me!)

I did WW very successfully a few years ago. I lost over 50 lbs!! Sadly, I strayed from the program and gained it all (plus a little extra) back.:(

Just as I was rejoining WW at the urging of a sweet friend, I found W.I.S.H. :D The friends on the board are a comfort, and a very supportive community. Having all of these smart, funny, interesting and adorable friends just a keystroke away is awesome!

I've got a long way to go. I started WISH at 219.5 pounds, my WW goal is 165, and my really-truly-in-my-heart goal is 145. At 5'10" that's trim and healthy on me.

Here's hoping we'll all be proudly posting pictures of our skinnier and healthier selves this time next year (or sooner)!! :p :p :p !

My scanner is broken, so I don't have much of a selection of pics :(

This is me and my Dad at my wedding- October 30, 1998

This is me at WDW on my birthday in Dec 1999. Can you tell it was cold and pouring that day? My hair was a mess and I look like a ragamuffin :p

I'm Jenn. I'm 28yrs old and married to Mike who's 31. No kids yet - so I indulge any maternal insticts on my 2 hell hounds (beagles named Roswell and Mr Peabody). We live in RI but 20miles from where I grew up in MA, so I consider myself a MA person more than anything.

As you can see from the first picture, I inherited my Father's nose, coloring, height, and bone structure. Which means I am tall, with large bones, big ****s, and a love of food :p

I'm currently at my heaviest ever (about 25lbs heavier than the photo). Because I developed young, and have a large frame, I've always been bigger than anyone else. My Mother convinced me that I was fat. Looking back at the pictures from childhood and my teens, I wish I was still that "fat" :(

I have a pretty messed up self image and I have to work on that. I also have to work on getting off my butt and exercising, which I detest. I work in dispatch/technical support and spend most of my day on my butt in front of the computer.

I finally decided that enough was enough and I have to do something about my weight after seeing pictures of me from this past Christmas. So here I am and thank you for having me :)

You can follow Dan Murphy's instructions for posting pictures (same as clipart) on this thread:

All I can say is WOW! If I wasn't inspired before (which I was) I am more-so now. You ALL look wonderful.

Glo, I agree with Katholyn, you look like two very different people in your before and after shots. You have done a wonderful job.

Dan, WOW, congratulations and such a dramatic change. I am happy to hear your success is from being on WW. I started WW 10 days ago and hope to have before and after pictures like yours next year.

I have very few pictures of myself because I don't like what I look like, so I had to do a little search. I came up with the pictures below.

February 2002

May 2002.

June 2003

Labor Day 2003

DH and I. Mother's Day 2004

My name is Debbi and I am 36 years old. I have been married to my DH for 16 years and we have a wonderful 6 year old son. My husband is in the military so we move around a lot and are always far from family, which has contributed to my bad eating habits, (but are not the entire cause).

I have been working on relearning the way I eat, why I eat and adopting a new lifestyle change. I started doing WW on my own on 2/18/02 and to date have lost 8 pounds. My goal is to lose 30 pounds by the end of the year. And then beyond that perhaps another 20-30. With the new attitude I have adopted, the support from WISH and another support group that I joined I hope to be a success at my efforts and I hope I will be one to post a before and after picture.

My name is Vija. (the J is silent. Like Mia, just change the M to a V) I am a very proud Latvian American. I was born here, my parents both came over to America after WWII. I am fluent in Latvian and am struggling to teach DS and DD as well. I married my Highschool sweetheart. I love to read, crossstitch, play games, walk, and spend time with my family.

Here are 3 pics.

the first one was taken a year ago, for my sister's wedding. THis is at my highest weight. DH is the handsome guy with me.
The second one is when I was about 16. Boy would I love to get back to that!

The third is me and my family a couple of years ago at the Happiest place on earth!!!

Hi everyone! It is great to put a name with a face.

My name is Lyn and I live in Stratford, NJ with my husband and one of my two sons. They are 16 and 22 years old. My oldest moved to California.

This picture was taken last year in Disney. I am about 20lbs heavier now. I was orignally 20lbs lighter than in the picture. In August of 2001 I had lost a total of about 40lbs in a year.
In January of last year my husband had taken very ill and was in the hospital for 3 months straight. When I am nervous I eat and eat and eat. Well I gained back all the weight I lost.
I am on the track back to lose all that weight and then some.

Thanks for having a place to go for encouragement.

Dan Murphy took this picture in December at Discon. I am on the far left in the (lime) green sweater. I was probably 197 in that picture.

My name is Marsha, I live in Arizona with my husband of 27 years and my 2 11 year old dogs. I have a son who is 26, and thankfully lives in Georgia. I always weiged 123 until I got pregnant. Gained 30 pounds, but took most of it off. After about 5 years, I just started putting on the pounds. Starting in 88 I lost about 20 on WW, gained it back, lost 35 on Jenny Craig, gained it back, lost 30 pounds 3 years ago on WW, gained it back. I was looking at some old pictures the other day, when I weighed 187, I was a size 22. When I started the WISH, I weighed 204 and size 18. Go figure. Anywway, I am now on the Adkins plan, my first weigh in is tomorrow, I am looking forward to stepping on the scale. I haven't hung out on the WISH boards much, but I will pop in weekly for the loss report.

03-15-2003, 08:48 PM
Well, I think I am ready to introduce myself. :D I've been posting a little, but haven't said much about myself, so here goes. ( I'm kind of shy)

I'm 51, and I've been married for 30 years to a great guy. We have 3 children, 2 sons, (28 and 25) and one daughter who is 21. My youngest son is married to a wonderful girl, I love her dearly, and they have my adorable granddaughter, Maddy, who is almost 3.

I don't have any pictures of me, yet, but I will put up the website address that my husband set up for me when I found out I had cancer and had to go through chemo. The first picture you see is me in the hospital, 2nd day after surgery, yuck! There is a link to pics of me with no hair. It was the day we shaved my head after my hair started falling out.

Hopefully the link will work, sometimes its a little persnickety.
I only kept the web journal up until the end of October.

When my dh has a little more time, I'll have him show me how to post some digital pics.

Weight wise, I've been fluffy my whole life, and pretty much hated it my whole life. I can't thank you guys enough for being here, I check in everyday and alway find something to inspire me. Thanks to you, I've done exercize 10 days out of the last 13 and after sitting or laying for so long (surgery in July, chemo ending in October, and I didn't start feeling better till January), I can now practically jump out of a chair, walk a mile without wanting to die, and getting better every day! Thank-you, thank-you, thank-you!

03-16-2003, 01:35 PM
Well, I finally got a website of my own, so here is me at my starting weight. Hopefully I will have some new and thinner pictures to post before too long. :)

I'm Elisabeth and I'm 23. I have been doing WW since July of 2000 with success at first then lots of yo-yoing. I am committed now though, and I am really excited. :) I will be getting married to my fiance (the handsome guy in the picture with me) this December at WDW, and I have decided that I really want to be thinner for my big day. :)

03-16-2003, 02:47 PM
Hey, I'm right in the front of Mickeyfan1's picture! Looks like dalepool just to Marsha's right as well. I'm not sure if anyone else in the picture is a WISHer, but it sure brings back some great memories! That picture was at Marsha's Spaceship Earth Mini Meet at DIS-CON II. :teeth:

03-16-2003, 04:23 PM
Linda, I read your journal. You are one gutsy woman, very brave, I think.

Ok... here I go... My name is Marsha, I am an antique dealer and a Disney enthusiast.. I am borrowing Kath's picture from DisCon 1... I think I was up there in weight... to tell you the truth guys I do not weigh myself... I went to Jenny Craig for a while before my daughter got married and lost over 40 lbs.. I would never look at the scale, actually got on it backwards... LOL...

I go to the gym 5 days a week and do spinning classes 3 times a week, weight training at least 2 times a week... and feel great.. I am now doing Atkins, thanks Kath for the encouragement...and I feel great.. I take life one day at a time... Right now, I am in major stress mode as I am selling my house and moving to two locations.. an apartment in Boston and a house on the Cape.. Hopefully, I can stay on the straight and narrow and not eat out of stress... I do not have any current pics.. but this one is from last year's Discon in conjunction with the group pic that Kath posted...

Marsha, that bottom picture of you is my favorite!! You look fabulous!! :)

04-21-2003, 06:51 PM
Marsha, I like that second photo best. You are so photogenic.

I'm so glad that you are joining WISH. I don't care if you weigh yourself or not. Keep us posted when you go down in size, though. Those celebrations are so much fun :)

05-01-2003, 08:11 PM
Okay, I'll go next. My name is Teresa, I'm 47, married to my DH, Harry for three years, and mom to three great kids, Joe, 23, Mike, 22, and Lauren, 17. I was born in Philadelphia, PA, and have lived in Southern New Jersey since I was 9. I was a hair stylist for the first 15 years of my working life, and I've been an RN for the last 13 years. I worked ER and ICU up until about three months ago, so ran my butt off for twelve hour shifts, and now I'm a Case Manager, so sit at a computer for most of the day. I haven't gained any weight since taking my desk job, but am scared to death that I'm going to. I'm 15 years older than DH,  , so I have a great incentive to stay in shape! Don't want him pushing me around in a wheelchair, now, do I? I love to read, scrapbook, and go to Disney!! My lowest weight that I can remember was 118 when I got married at 23 to my ex, and I maintained around 128 for many years. I hit around 135 when I turned 40, was 132 when I married DH Harry, and hit my high weight of 152 about a year ago. I have been stuck between 145 and 150 for the last year now, and joined WISH about 1 1/2 weeks ago. I've lost three pounds since then, so I'm at 145. I bought the Walk Away The Pounds tapes and am hoping to do them at least three times a week. I absolutely hate to excercise!! I'd much rather be DISing or scrapping or reading. I'm doing a modified Atkins, but think I'm going to have to bite the bullet and do the real thing. I'd like to lose about 20 more lbs and get back down to 125. I have absolutely no will power, so I'm hoping to get motivated by visiting the WISH board often. You guys are great and I'm so impressed by your stories.

Here is a picture of my with my DH, Harry, taken this past Christmas.

Harry and I at the Liberty Tree Tavern in the MK in December.

Me and Tarjii at the Moraccan Pavilion at Epcot in December.

Me and my mom at MGM studios last November.

And last but not least, me outside of Victoria & Albert's after our wonderful dinner there, last December.

I love looking at everyone's pictures and reading about them, so I hope the rest of you all post too!:D

05-08-2003, 04:13 PM
Okay, I am going to give this a try. I found an old picture of me on the computer so it will give you an idea of how I looked... say 24 pounds ago?

This is a picture of my family on the day of my daughter's 1st Communion. It was taken in April 2002.
http://www.imagestation.com/picture/sraid61/p07b15f1b8ec7fefcea8cd1f072aeec0f/fc2fd790.jpg (And a special THANK YOU to Kathy helping me fix this picture!)

My name is Terry. My DH and I just celebrated our 13th anniversary in April. We currently live in Nashville, TN, but I was born and raised (for over 30 yrs) in St. Louis. Gerard is from Chicago. Jessie was 8 and in 2nd grade in this pic, while Jake was 6 and in kindergarten. I am a stay away from home mom. ;) That seems more appropriate since I spend so much time helping at school! :p

I found WISH through a clippie on the Budget boards and have been hooked since!! These boards motivated me to get started working on *ME*. Thank you!!

Well, it is time for an updated photo. My daughter took this picture this afternoon (hence the slight tilt to the picture). We needed to finish off a roll so this wasn't planned. Otherwise I wouldn't have been wearing horizontal stripes and a hat! LOL! At least it is a WDW hat. ;)

30 pounds lighter than the picture above.

I can see that I am definitely a person who thinks I look thinner than I actually do! Onward and downward I go!!!

I am updating my photo again! This time with almost 45 pounds lost. Why do I feel so much thinner than I look? Crazy thing.

I can't wait to see how I look at my next 10% off goal!

It's not my next 10% goal photo but I think it is time for an update anyway! This was taken on Thanksgiving Day - 57# lost.

I figure if I lose enough weight these size 16 capris will actually end up as baggy pants on me! Yes, I am that short!

Zoo Keeper
05-11-2003, 07:59 PM

This picture was taken about three months ago at work (keeping the zoo) This is after my 50 lbs weight loss. I've kept the 50 off and now on my way to even more success. I rejoined WW after a 2 month hiatus. Thanks to this board, I am more commited and confident than ever.

It's great to put a face with a name. Someday, I may get up the nerve to put my pre-50lbs picture up. (or not)

Bichon Barb
05-16-2003, 11:29 AM
...As I was saying. This is me (holding Beanie the puppy) at Easter. I HATE getting my picture taken, so my husband has to sneak up on me when I least expect it--and it looks like I'm deep into "blah blah blah" mode here. Anyway, this is at about 160 lbs. When I did WW last year, I started at about 172, and got down to about 152. My temporary goal is 145 by mid July when DH and I have our 20 year high school reunions.

Yes Beanie, our puppy is Beanie. 'Cause my DS said she looks like a Beanie Baby.

05-16-2003, 04:57 PM

Whoooohoooo! THANK YOU KATHYTX. OMG, I am laughing sooo hard!

This is me and DD8 Kathryn!

Princess Michelle
05-17-2003, 05:36 PM
Here is a picture of me and my friend Christine (Mickey's Sunshine) that was taken a little over 2 months ago. I still weigh the same as I did then. I'm the one on the left. :)

And here is one of me and Mr. Potato Head that was taken last Saturday at DTD. :)

Now a little about myself. My name is Michelle (in case you hadn't figured that one out ;) ), I'm 25 and I live in Florida about an hour and a half from WDW. :Pinkbounc

I'm single and the only child I have is my spoiled little dog Snickers. :)

I work as a Receptionist/Office Assistant for a Property Management Company so I'm another one who is pretty much on my butt in front of the computer all day.

I've battled my weight my whole life, it was semi under control when I was a teenager but when I started working at the age of 16 the weight really started piling on. I have fibromyalgia and I'm often so tired or in so much pain that excerise is the last thing I want to do but ironically it's the one thing that would make me feel a lot better! So, I've decided that it's something that I just have to do because to use an old cliche' I'm sick and tired of being sick and tired. I need to lose around 80-100 lbs. so it's not going to be a short quest but I'm looking for it to be a lifelong change.

I look forward to cheering you guys on in your journey, many of you are doing so great already and I know some of you are just getting started like myself. Together we will all reach our goals! :)

05-21-2003, 11:34 AM
Copying her post to the right place :)

The picture is actually from 1 year ago this month. I don't have many recent pictures (that I like) & this is the nicest one of me (& my adorable DD) in a long time. It's deceiving because I don't look as big as I really am in this picture. My WISH weigh in weight is 170 & my goal weight is 125. Like I said in another post, I am not looking at the goal weight & a 10lb loss would make me happy right now.

I have a hard working, loving DH (Gary) of almost 11 yrs (Sept.) He works for Evernham Motorsports. He doesn't share my love for Disney but will go there "for the kids". :p I have a DD7 (Hayley) & DS-18mos (Garrett) & for now I am a SAHM. I am trying to finish up my Associates Degree in Early Childhood Education & would like to become a teaching assistant. I have thought about going on to get a Bachelor's degree in Education but, at 36yrs old, I just can't see myself being a first year teacher at age 40. We shall see because I know there or a lot of other opportunities out there other than teaching with that degree.
That's about it! Not very exciting but I love my life & my family. I want to get healthy so I can stick around to enjoy grandchildren (I want to take them Disney!!!)

05-21-2003, 11:37 AM
I am sooooo embarrassed that I posted on the wrong thread. :o  :o

05-23-2003, 09:23 PM
This is the most recent pic of me. :) Hard to tell about my weight since I am sitting down, though. Hopefully someone will catch me in a pic at Towncrier's meet Sunday and I can post that one, too.

My name is Sherry and I am 32 years old. As you can tell by my pic, I have 4 boys: Jonathan 12, Jordan 11, Jared 9, and Julian 7. I've been married to my DH for 13 years.

In this pic, I weigh about 125 pounds. When I started my diet, back in January (counting calories, cutting back on fat) I weighed 145. I lost 15 pounds, then seemed to just stall. I started Atkins about a month ago and have lost 5 more pounds. I'd like to lose 5, maybe 10 more pounds.

05-26-2003, 08:07 PM
Hey Sherry, you Junior & the boys look great!

06-04-2003, 12:22 AM
Ok, here is my picture from my recent trip to Hawaii in March. I had to make the pilgramage to the Dole Pineapple Plantation and that's a Dole Whip Float in my hand :).

I am 5'6" and I would guess that I weighed about 177 lbs in that photo and I weigh about the same now. My tip-top weight was probably just over 200 lbs, but I lost that weight before I was pregnant and I was in the low-160's for a couple of years. My ultimate goal weight is currently 145 lbs, but I will be happy with each and every 5 lb clippie I earn :).

My name is Robin and I am 42 years old and have been married to David for 10 years. We dated/lived together for 7 years before that, so we have been together for a very long time. We have a 3 year old DD, Celia, who is also in the above picture. I am a SAHM who earns "Mouse Money" by selling books on amazon.com. There are books all over the house! I used to be a computer consultant pre-child :) and hope to return to work when my DD goes to first grade.

06-04-2003, 01:34 AM
Hi Robin, your little girl is so beautiful. This is a great "before" photo. I'll bet you will be posting photos of a much slimmer "you" very soon :)

06-12-2003, 11:58 PM
Wow I love seeing all these pictures. Talk about encouragement! You all look fantastic! Maybe someday I will get the courage to post pictures too :p

06-13-2003, 06:03 AM
Wow -

OMG you have all done so well, all of you are truly an inspiration to everyone else.

06-13-2003, 11:20 PM
Every one of you are doing SO AWESOME! You should all be very proud of yourselves :) I know I am!

I'm going to get a pic of me up here soon, like it or not! LOL

I wonder if there is a chance in heck that this worked...

Anyway, my name is Audrey. I am 39 and holding, mother of three - ages 19, 13, and 12. I come from a long line of women who get married young and have babies right off. I am apparently not the end of that line, either. My oldest got married to her high school sweetheart last summer - but Praise the Lord - no grandkids on the horizon, yet. This photo - if it is here- is of dh and I at our dd's wedding last year. I actually gained about 10lbs after this photo but it's hard to see my body because I am very cleverly hiding behind dh. I do that whenever possible! I posted it so you can see me :) and because it is the only photo I have of myself in my email. I don't have a digital camera yet!

The "aha" photo that got me to lose weight was taken a few months ago at the Botanical Garden. You know the one - sleeveless top, full frontal camera angle... I was going to try and post that one but, alas, I can't find it.

I am having a great time learning a bit about each of you on this post (I haven't read it all yet) and putting your beautiful faces with your names.:)http://www.imagestation.com/picture/sraid70/p83293715d5bd3b151f13fd615ee37386/fba3838b.jpg

07-20-2003, 05:18 PM
I just discovered the photo album. This is great. I don't have any really recent pictures of me but here are the best I have.

I'm the one in jeans - the other is my best friend Elizabeth and this is from Fall 2001.

This is from last May - can't fit into those pants anymore :(

This is me with my mom and brother at a gala in DC last Spring - I used to be skinnier than my mom but she's lost lots of weight recently and she's now a 12/14. Go mom!

I'm trying to find a more recent one. Oh by the way my name is Stephanie. I have gone up a size since this picture so I'm a bit bigger. I'm 25 and just graduated law school - still no job but I'm starting on my LLM in Tax this fall. I've been engaged for 4 yrs and still no wedding date set. I live with my fiance Dan and our two cats. I've always been heavy but this probably is my heaviest at about 224lbs now that I've been with wish for almost 3 weeks and I wear a 16/18. I really would like to get down in the 170-160 range and wear a size 12. I've struggled with my weight my whole life and have tried lots of diets and none have ever worked. I'm now trying not to restrict my eating too much just pay a little more attention to what I eat and try not to evereat anymore or snack too much. I'm also trying to exercise 5 days a week.

07-22-2003, 09:39 PM
Trying to see if this photo works. If not, I will try another.

I am Lisajl...Lisa I will be 41 on July 27.

This is a photo of myself and my DH at his parents 50th wedding anniversary over the 4th of July.

This is the heaviest I have ever been!
When my DH saw this photo today, he decided to try and lose weight with me! Hooray! I have support...I will support him too.

07-25-2003, 03:40 PM
Just noticed this thread- and had just recently finally gotten up the nerve to show my progress pics on another board (a low-carbing friends board) -so I figured why not show them here too.

I hope they show up in the same format here- they are supposed to be next to one another so you can see the difference. Here goes:

Pictures are as follows:
2wks-12lbs lost
10wks-34lbs lost
12wks-39lbs lost
20wks- 60lbs lost
27wks- almost 75lbs lost!
Body profile:

It won't let me show too many images in one post- so I'll post the rest in other posts if it will let me. :)

As for info about myself- I'm 34yrs old, SAHM of 3 children... and my sig line tells my stats, when I started Atkins, etc. :)

And here's the face/head shots.. I really didn't think I'd lost much in my face- but once I looked at these pics there is no way I can think that anymore!!!!!!! Definitely lost weight in face/neck/etc! LOL

07-25-2003, 03:44 PM
BTW- it's so great to see all of you! You are all beautiful! :)

07-25-2003, 09:59 PM
BOO!!!!! WOW...WOW....WOW!!!!

You look AMAZING!!!! How much more do you need to lose?? Not much I bet!!!

You have the BEST smile I have every seen!!! You have come sooo far!!! You should be proud to show of those pictures!!!

07-26-2003, 12:57 AM
Wow- thanks for the compliments. I think that's the first time anyone has said that about my smile. :)

Well, I only have 8.5 lbs to go to reach the goal weight I set when I weighed 189.5... and I set that goal weight because I really thought it was impossible to get back to. I was in the 125-128 range for years after having my first child.

But technically it should be lower. I'm 5'2 and small frame/boned. I weighed 105 when I got married at age almost 21 and I was nowhere NEAR thin even then! (bubble butt and thick muscular thighs back then- they aren't so muscular anymore... that's for sure LOL)

I'm sure I'd be thrilled to be 120- but I'll probably change my goal to 110 and just see if I can do that. Not sure if I'll ever lose some of the stomach I have from my huge belly pregnancies (had polyhydramnios... way too much fluids- so my belly was huge with my pregnancies, especially the last one) or my saddlebags on my thighs... in other words my body is different now. So I don't know if I'll ever get lower than 120 but that's okay! :)

(btw- I'm bigger than you!!! Your stats showing below your post... my waist is same, my hips bigger, my thighs a little bigger-- but my chest smaller! *pout* I'm losing so much on top lately- and I've gone from 38D to 34B.... barely. Actually 34A fits me now. So sad... I was always a 34B before I had kids/nursed- so I'm used to not being "well endowed" but now I'm even smaller and um... gravity has had it's way with the girls also LOL)

Bibbidy, WOW!

You look like you went from 40 years old to 20! I SWEAR!!! No offense meant, but in your before picture you look older than your current age. Your after picture makes you look 10 years younger than your current age! You look FANTASTIC! WOW! WOW! WOW!

Your full body pictures make you look like a cheerleader! Those are some great legs you got there!!! And I love your hair cut - you look SOOO happy and full of energy! WOW!

I am super glad you decided to share your pictures! You look AMAZING!!!!!

07-28-2003, 11:21 PM
Thanks TigH! It's really hard for me to show pictures of myself- even the after ones... just the way I am. LOL But I'm working through that shyness stuff. Well I'm not shy in other ways.... you know what I mean. LOL

Your post is a great pick me up.... especially about the age thing- considering my birthday is this Thursday so I'm getting olderrrrrrr..... LOL

jtbdas, you'd have to first upload the picture on a webhosting site- then put the url here to show it. You can't show it straight off your computer. I don't know of any free webhosting sites since all the ones I used before either cost now or no longer allow remote linking (which means showing pictures loaded there on other websites like you would want to do here). I use the webspace given to me from my ISP/cable modem company. You might want to check and see if who ever is giving you the internet service provides you some space to use in this fashion. Most do.

Hi, everyone.....Tiffany 'disneyfan551' says I should come over here and say 'hi', so here I am.

I'm Lisa, I'm 32, mother of one DS almost 11, and involved in a long-term relationship with my very own Prince Charming. :)

I'm 5'4", and can basically count on one hand the years of my life that I've been even remotely thin. I started WW in August of 2001, and the first picture I'm going to post shows what I looked like on my 30th birthday, which was in Feb. of that same year. (202lbs) My second picture was taken this year in March.(138lbs)

I will say that I kept my journal religiously for about 14 months. I no longer keep my journal, but WW just seems to stay in my head. I rarely can eat any food or drink without thinking to myself how many points it has in it.

I never really had a 'goal weight', but more of a 'goal size' I wanted to be. (size 12) The day that I put on a skirt that I had been hiding in my closet for 10 years, I could only sit on the floor and cry. When my 12's started to get loose, I went shopping with my mother to get a size 10 pair of jeans only the rack with the jeans I wanted didn't have any more size 10's, so my mother says, try on the 8......I say 'you're insane, I can't get in an 8', but she insists, and they actually fit. It took buying several more size 8 outfits before it finally sunk in....I wear a size 8....OMG.

Soooooo, that's my story...in short. If anyone has any questions or just needs support, I'm here. I hear I'm really good at that whole moral support thing. lol

Wow! You look fantastic! You sure do look thin!!!! Thanks for sharing the picture and info to get to know you. :)

Thank you for the compliment, BibbidyBobbidyBoo!!! :)

I will say this about myself, no matter what my outside may reflect, I don't think I'll ever have the brain of a thin person. Has anyone else experienced this or am I just crazy? lol

southernwingz...so glad to see you here on the WISH board! It was great to read your story! You truly look amazing!! Congrats on your weight loss!! :Pinkbounc :bounce: :Pinkbounc

If by that you mean you won't ever feel thin even when/though you are..... nah, that is not crazy. I think you WILL at some point- but it might take some time. Especially have to consider how long you have been overweight. I think it might be quicker to realize how thin you really are if you haven't been overweight long. But if you've been overweight a long time you may not see yourself as a "thin person" (even after you are) for quite some time. But I think eventually you will come to grips with it.

Atleast this is what I think for myself. ;)

Basically, to post a photo here it has to be 'stored' somewhere and you put a link to the photo in your post.

Now, I found that the easiest place to store my pics was actually here in the DIS photo gallery. You have to register to use the photo gallery and then what you do is to upload (transfer) the photos from your PC to your own photo album in the DIS gallery.

Go here (http://www.wdwinfo.com/photopost/index.php) for the gallery and click on the 'register' button. Once you're registered you can upload some photos. Space is not unlimited though so don't expect to be able to keep loads of pics there - pick and choose carefully!

Once you've uploaded some, you will see a message that the pictures have to be approved before they can be seen. This only takes a short while (a few hours in my experience). Then, when you want to post in here, right click on the photo, click on properties. Then you will see the 'address' of the photo in the middle (looks something like http:etc etc etc). You need to copy all that and come over here and reply to this thread. Then click on the button marked 'IMG' just underneath all the smilie buttons and paste in the address of the picture.

Hey presto - picture posted!

Hope all that makes sense!

Thats how I posted my picture anyway!!

12-12-2003, 05:43 PM

there is me with long hair.

I just realized that I had posted some pics on WISH a few weeks ago - so I might as well post them to this thread as well! If you'd like to know more about me and my journey, you can read my introduction post (http://www.disboards.com/showthread.php?s=&threadid=424548) or my six-month update post (http://www.disboards.com/showthread.php?s=&threadid=508526), and there's always my WISH journal (http://www.disboards.com/showthread.php?s=&threadid=450372).

Here's the pictures, before and "during"...

Have a great day! :teeth:

Hi all!

Here is me a while before I started WW at 23 stone (322lbs) and my 'so far' pic which was taken in Dec 03 when I had lost 4st 5lbs (61lbs). Since then I have lost a further 13lbs :)

I have more photos HERE (http://groups.msn.com/AngelloresWeightLoss) if anyone's interested!

03-22-2004, 09:02 AM
New to the WISH board and posting the worst photo I can find? I need serious help.

I am going to get this weight off again. Lost 60lbs before the birth of my seond son, it is going to go away again...forever.

04-19-2004, 03:01 PM
WOW.....if I wasn't already motivated to lose this weight I am now after seeing all of the amazing transformations!!! Congrats to everyone!!

So here I am...my name is Kristy and I'm 27 yrs old. My husband Derek and I have been married close to one year. We both realized recently that we need to make a life style change not only for our self image but for our health. He's battling high cholesterol and if I'm not careful I'll end up diabetic like my mom. So on my birthday I joined WW's and he's doing the program with me. I'm 5'2" and he's 5'10". In this picture I weighed 250..and then gained 10 more since then. He was at about 280 then. Due to the flu and mono he's managed to lose 24 pounds since Feb and over the past two weeks I have lost the extra 10 I put on since the wedding.....now it's time to get going and move onward and downward.

Hopefully I'll be posting update pictures soon..

04-29-2004, 08:40 AM
OK...thanks to Dan Murphy's instructions, I'm finally able to post my pictures here. Gosh, I feel so stupid and I work with computers every day!

Anyway, here is me and DH last weekend. I lost 50 lbs before this photo. I need to lose at least 10-15 more. If I can find some of my "fat" pictures, I'll scan them and post some before & afters.

05-03-2004, 02:38 PM

Hmmm, I seem to have lost my other photo. Anyway, this is me at the 2004 MNSSHP.

I'm 5'4". As of today, I weigh 142 (up four lbs from the first time I posted). At my heaviest, I weighed 166-172. My thinnest was 120-123. I'm looking to stay around 128-130. I constantly struggle with my relationship with food. My real goal is to be FIT BY 40 (in 2006).

I'm so happy I found the DIS/WISH boards!

06-25-2004, 08:38 AM
Okay, I know this is not the most flattering photo but I usually don'y let anyone take pictures of my whole body, just my face. Anyway this was taken last Sept and I was at 220lbs. I am now 15lbs. heavier.

09-01-2004, 07:53 AM
Hi All,

I guess I will post - know I haven't been around much. Life is crazy!

Me after losing about 135 lbs. via gastric bypass- this is my 1 year comparison.

My niece Haley, one of the reasons this year has been so crazy (in a good way!) Looks like she's going to be with me for a long, long time!

09-14-2004, 10:18 PM
I look forward to posting my before and after pictures and enjoy reading about everyone else's accomplishments.

southwingz2/Lisa - I don't know if you still read these threads since it doesn't look like you've posted on here for a year, but really enjoyed your story and LOVED your after picture. You are about the same age, height and before weight as me and I can totally relate. It gives me hope that I can too get to a size 8 one day (haven't been that size in my age life). I too will cry when I can get into a size 12!!!::yes:: ::yes:: ::yes::

Hope you follow up and let us know how your doing with maintaining your weight.

09-17-2004, 08:47 PM
Wow BaileyMouse you look fantastic! What a striking comparison. You must be so happy and feel so much better.

Thanks for posting pics. I love seeing success stories::yes::

02-15-2005, 03:29 PM
Wow! Everyone looks so great. I am just going to post a "before" picture here. I have never done this before, and this picture is just appalling to me, so I guess it is a good motivator. You will note I am with 2 of the 4 loves of my lives -- my DD and DS -- missing are my DH and my DFB (darling furbaby!). I should also note that there are VERY few pictures of me because I am so self-conscious. I only let that go when I am at my happy place, and often there is a character next to me! (note my tag)

02-21-2005, 02:33 AM
Never thought I'd visit this thread, posting-wise, but because of dear DIS friends, I have pics to post (Lord knows I can't do this on my own  ). Thanks to my Dear DIS friends!

Still could do better, but I did reach a goal/weight I NEVER thought I'd reach!

Stats: 42yo(!), 2 kids, 17 and 7. Married twice, still married this time ;) (13 years this April). SAHM after youngest was born, gained a TON, went back to part time work (5 days/week, PT/school hours though) in Sept '03. Started WW online in Jan '04, and lost 78 lbs since then. Maintenance is easier, I guess, but still always thinking and eating what's right! ;)

02-21-2005, 12:04 PM
Wow, Kim! What an inspiration you are -- and you are so beautiful! What a great smile!

02-21-2005, 06:21 PM
Wow Kim, you ARE an inspiration to us all. How awesome you look... like a totally different person and so much younger. It's amazing how old the weight makes us look. I can not wait to post my pictures here :teeth:

05-19-2005, 03:57 PM
just wanted to post here and say I can't believe how great you guys all look! It's wonderful...I'm TOTALLY new here, but I will post some pics of me soon! I hope to get to know many of you as I need all the encouragement I can get! :)

Thanks, Jen

from my preeclampsia. I have no "chubby pictures"
-I refuse to get my picture taken until I lose this weight.

Just wanted to post! Not new, but haven't introduced myself here.

I am 25 years old and run real estate schools for a large brokerage. Dh and I have been married for almost 2 years.

My goal is not only to lose weight, but to learn to eat better. I feel constantly tired and I know it is from lack of excersing and not eating.

Here is a pic of us from the cruise in April. Dh doesn't post often, but if he is it is DVDGuy.

Here is a better one. I am hoping to lose around 20 lbs.

05-18-2006, 10:19 AM
Well, I cannot believe I am actually going to post these, but if these can inspire one person then I will be happy. I am not at goal weight yet, and actually I have another 33 pounds to go, but as I was looking at the difference 15 weeks has made, I couldn't be prouder of myself....CONGRATS to all who have taken the courage to take back their lives and win the battle of the bulge...

Disneyfanz how did you do it? Oh my you look wonderful :thumbsup2 :thumbsup2 :thumbsup2 ! Good for you and thank you for the pictures, you have to know you have inspired me and I am going to do something about this wieghty mess that had me in tears last night. I am going to take a whole series of pictures like yours to help inspire myself too! I am a pear shape and would love the machine I noticed you had in the corner by the sofa that wasn't there in your first set of pictures, do you use it much? I would love something like that! When I lived in the states I was crazy about the threadmill at our gym but here they are far to expensive to buy. However we have great walking/biking paths everywhere so there is no excuse for me not to exercise.

Everyone on here has done really well so 3 cheers :cheer2:. I'll see if I can't post some pic's later on.

02-02-2008, 09:15 PM
Hi All WISHers! Thanks to all those who posted pics--how wonderful!

I just thought I would share something for those who have so few pics of themselves because we (as I include myself in this group) don't like how we look and/or refuse to have our pic taken until we lose the weight.

My mom mentioned this to me and I found it incredibly true and profound...

If you refuse to have pictures of yourself taken, you are effectively erasing yourself from your children's childhood.

Yes, we all want to be thinner and healthier...that is why we are here. But our children love us regardless...their love is completely pure....they should have memories of us.
