My father and stepmother are coming to meet us from Sarasota and will be taking us out to dinner. He wants to go somewhere in Orlando (not Disney). Anyone have any suggestions for a good place for 4 adults and 1 little girl - not too casual but not super fancy either. Also if it takes reservations that would be great b/c it happens to be Mothers Day night.
Thanks!

The locals say Fishbones is the place to go. By the way, don't be fooled by the name. Fish is only a very small portion of what is on the menu!

One suggestion is one of the restaurants in Celebration. One of our personal favorites, is Columbia. If you like Spanish/Latin influenced food this is a beautiful spot to go and Imho would make a great place for Mother's Day dinner. Your relatives may have been to the one in Sarasota or the original in Ybor City COLUMBIA (http://www.columbiarestaurant.com/home.html)
Our favorite Italian offsite is a bit of a drive to Longwood. ENZO'S ON THE LAKE (http://www.enzos.com/about.html)Cafe D'Antonio in Celebration is good and closer too.
Would suggest Bahama Breeze or Pebbles in the Crossroads area but they usually do not take reservations as far as I know(may be different for Mother's day) and the wait could be long on Mother's Day.
Wherever you end up, enjoy!:)

The only off site restaurant we go to and we do it every trip is Bahama Breeze. We've found that if you go early you can get seated pretty quickly. We really love the restaurant. The menu is large and you can even get half orders (plenty for me).

The new Seasons 52 looks great. It's located on Sand Lake Rd, about 15-20 minutes from Disney. Then menu slightly changes each week depending on whats fresh and available. There was an interview on the local news with the manager a few days ago and he quoted apps in the $5-$6 range and entrees in the $18-$20 range. Check out the website at www.seasons52.com .

I'm really bad with directions but there is a Carrabbas very close to WDW (maybe on I-92, 192, whatever it's called  ). They serve Italian. I guess it is a chain, but we don't have one in our area. Very good food.
They don't take reservations, however, they have priority call ahead seating, which means as soon as you get there & check in they put your name at the top of the list.
Orlando Steak & Ale House is also very good. Make a left out of WDW at the Crossroads & it's down a side street on the left hand side. An extensive menu & we have never had to wait there.

I second Bahama Breeze. Their Key Lime Pie is out of this world.

Oh Boy's has the BEST BBQ but it is casual! I recommend it for casual dining!
