I have reservations for early June at the Amerisuites Universal on Caravan Court. They say they are "right across the street" from USF, just wondering how true this might be. We have reservations at Emeril's and I was wondering if I would have a chance to get back to the hotel to "clean up" without wasting too much time. Also wonder if anyone has ever stayed there before, cleanliness, amenities, etc.

I also have reservations at this hotel in June--never stayed at this one but have stayed at Amerisuites in other cities and they offer a good value--clean room, room for 6 people, fridge, etc.

We stayed there the week before Easter. Very easly the find - right off I-4. It is right across the street from Universal. You cross over the main road, I forgot the hwy #, and you are at the parking decks.
The hotel was clean but our room was kind of small. We booked the suite, king bed and pull out sofa. There was only three of us and it worked out fine. From the hotel you can walk to TGI Friday's and Cracker Barrel.
The pool area was kind of small but there wasn't a lot of people out there all day.
Hope this helps. Let me know if you have more questions.

Thanks for your reply. We are going in August. Would you say it is close enough to walk to Universal or does the hotel have shuttles. What was the buffet breakfast like? Grateful for any info.

SCMinnie, thanks for the response. There are only 2 of us going so room size won't be a problem. Sounds like I'll be able to do the quick "clean up" before dinner at Emeril's with a just a little bit of a hike. Got a terrific rate from Amerisuites, so i can drop the bucks there on dinner. Thanks again. :D

I got my aunt a room here through Priceline ... they've been coming up a good bit there lately. $133 total for four nights :) My aunt could barely believe the price ...

Although it across the street it is still a bit of a walk to the park gates. We drove and were parked in less that 10 minutes. It is a long walk from the parking deck to the gate. I don't know if Amerisuites had shuttles. We were planning to be at the parks when the gates opened every morning and also wanted the flexibility to leave the park when we wanted to.
The breakfast buffet was OK. Cereals, bagels, toast, frozen waffles, doughnuts, muffins, etc. There was juice, milk, and coffee to drink. My advice is to go to breakfast early- before 8:30 - because it gets crowded. Our last day there we just had a down day and went to breakfast at 9:00 and almost didn't get a table.
