Anyone up for a meet on Sunday May 26? I notice that there are about 4 or 5 of us going to be there.

Wish I could Tammy. :( I can't even begin to imagine the crowds that you're going to encounter... I know you usually go to Disneyland on long weekends, which are usually holidays, so you're probably used to it. :)

When Judy returns from WDW (yes, AGAIN!!!! LOL) we'll hopefully plan another 'meet' in June or July. :) :)

Of course, now that Judy works outside of the home full time, she may be difficult to get a hold of. ;) ;) ;)

Have fun. :D

Tammy, I don't think it's you. :( I think it's us. LOL

I had the same trouble when we went earlier in the month. ((shrugging shoulders))

Just for the record...I've met Tammy and she and her DH, Joe, are very nice people. A real pleasure to be around. :)

I was beginning to wonder. Oh well I guess I'll just have to keep my eyes open for green ribbons and hope that someone notices mine. We'll be darting back and forth between parks with eyes peeled. It would have been nice to meet some more people from the boards but maybe the locals will be staying away because of expected crowds at least at disneyland. We'll have fun anyway and hope to trade a pin or two.

Hi Tammy,

I think I might be able to make it down on Sunday. :sunny:

Give me some options where you'll be and I'll try & narrow down which one I can go to.

Would love to meet you. :)

How about 11am or 2pm Main street flag pole? We have no set schedule of where we need to be anytime this trip. We just wing it each day as by now we have done just about everything that is to do at least once. If another time would be better, just throw that out there. Hope maybe we can get some others to join us.

<font color=navy>Let's make it for 11:00 - maybe Goofster57 (who is usually there in the morning) can stop & say hey.

Looking forward to meeting you. :sunny:

:bounce: Sounds good to me. 11am at the flag pole. Now lets hope some of the others who haven't left for their trips left check the board and show up to have some fun. We fly down tomorrow night so will check back once more in the morning.

Well, I think there was some type of miscommunication... were we supposed to meet yesterday or today? I was thinking Sunday, but noticed you had 26....

Anyways, I was at the flag pole at 11:00, and missed the DISmeet. However, I was able to enjoy the Main Street Band, who gave a nice performance. Then Eeyore came & directed the band, and danced around the flagpole. I was able to see the flowers at the base of the flagpole, too - red white & blue, creating a big star at the base - quite beautiful. I wouldn't have noticed that if I wasn't waiting, so all was not lost.

I took some pictures, ate at the Rancho del Zocala, and did a little shopping. I enjoyed watching a man walking up & down Main Street wearing a DL hat, Mickey gloves, and walking an invisible dog. I thought that was kind of cool.

As I left, I stopped to take some pictures, when someone shouted at me to stop blocking the exit. It was Goofster57, with his dw Shivahn, and their daughters Jessica & Alyssa! What a pleasant surprise. As we described our mornings, we realized we had just missed each other several times, and they had even been with Tammy in the morning. :p Too funny.

Sorry I missed you, Tammy. I hope to catch you next time you're out here. :)

Oh dear me MaryJo! You must be thinking some 'funky' thoughts about us Northwesterners, hunh? ;)

I'm so sorry to hear that you missed Tammy, as she and her DH (Joe) are such a pleasure!!! :D Joe is a hoot to talk to....he's a very passionate speaker. Right Tammy? :)

It sounds like you made the most of your day and saw some pretty cool things that you may have missed had you stayed home to pull weeds and do laundry (LOL).

I'm glad to hear that you saw Goofster57 and that he had met up with Tammy and Joe!

You know what they say??? "The 3rd time's a charm." ;)

I don't suppose we could 'lure' up to Idaho for DIS meet, could we? I'll let Judy (from Boise) work on you for this one. ;) :p ;) :p

<font color=navy>Tia,

I'm starting to get the feeling that you guys are pm'ing each other & coming up with these "meets" - and are having someone take pics of me innocently waiting. ;)

j/k

Hmmmm, Boise meet - with the two of you & whomever... wonder how long it takes to drive, and should we "caravan" to it. :p

I think the caravan idea is the way to go......you, Tink, teri, Goofster, and anyone else who can get their hands on an emu for a weekend. ;) :p

Don't forget to wear your Lime Green Ribbons so the cars can see you on the interstate...LOL ;) :D And better practice up on your hand signals, just in case the emus don't come equipped with those. ;) :p

Hey guys,

I thought the next out of park meet was going to be here?

I guess I am lucky, I got to meet Mary Jo and Goofster when I last visited. And I am trying to work out another
trip. Tia, if I can work it out, I hope that you will be able to come too. I will even bribe you with goodies from home. ;)

Seriously, I am glad people are meeting in the parks. Wasn't today just beautiful?:sunny: The weather has been perfect here lately. I am hoping it is the same all over. :)

Aloha,
Donna

Wow this thread generated more posts after the meet was over than before. Say, Maryjo, did you happen to notice a women, pink shirt, 2 lanyards and a cane sitting to the right of the band by the flag pole. That was me. I wasn't sure who I was looking for just looking for lime green. Joe caught up with me about a quarter after and we decided that maybe no one else had showed up. We did meet up with Keith before the pin workshop. By the way, did you notice there was no flag on the flagpole? I wonder what's up. It seemed bare, but the flowers are pretty. Well maybe next time. We had a fun trip never the less and made some great trades.

Oh no! Don't tell me that you two were looking right at eachother and didn't realize it!!! ??? That would be too sad...not to mention, too funny! LOL

Well I'm sorry you two missed eachother, perhaps next time in Hawaii. ;)

Hey Tammy, can we use your cane to gently tap the emus when we need them to listen? Or when we need them to remember to swim

j/k ;)

<font color=navy>Tammy,
Oh my gosh! I remember you distinctly!!! I was the one sitting on the bench - long brown hair, black pants & black top. I had a jacket in my hand. I had lime green beads in my hair, and a lime green ribbon on my purse, with a lime-green button that says DIS, and a Chicago Mickey hanging from it. I was sure people could see them & recognize me as a DISer.

Did you have two safari Mickey & Minnie (I think) hanging from your fanny pack or something?

I was watching you, but too shy to ask if you were you (what a dolt I am)! Oh, I feel badly. Then I saw your dh come, and convinced myself that you were waiting for him while he went to the restroom. Sheesh!

Okay, Keith, stop laughing!!!!

... and yes, I noticed that there was no flag- pretty strange, I thought.

Boise is a lovely place, and the flights there are quite reasonable from CA. I was in Boise for a night last summer on my way to the Sawtooths...

<font color=blue>I just have two questions:

1. Who would organize a fake meet just so that they could take pictures of an unsuspecting MaryJo to post on the DIS? ;)

2. MaryJo is shy???

tammyh-oregon
05-29-2001, 03:56 PM
I was there incognito to just catch Maryjo off guard. Yes that was me with the two safari keychains. I didn't even see you. All I was thinking was No body wanted to meet me. This is to funny. Well next time, we should make better plans. The band was great though and it was a welcome break from walking the parks. And don't feel bad because if I had seen you I probably would have been to shy to walk up to you. We probably looked right at each other and then quickly looked away thinking what is with that person.

<font color=navy>Tammy!

I was on the bench next to you! In fact, I almost sat next to you!!

Darn it! Well, there's always next time, and I'll make sure to describe myself as the SHORT person who'll be there. Well, this was a learning lesson for me to walk up and introduce myself!

... and Tink33 -- yes, I can be shy .... at times :p

ha…Ha…HA…THUMP
That’s me laughing and falling off the chair.
Mary Jo Quiet, Shy and Rreserved? I must have met her twin. I can’t help but feel a little responsible for this. If I had not stopped to feed my face at Zocalo’s and gone to the flag pole this probably wouldn’t have happened.
Well, the ribs were good…………

Getting to meet up with Tammy and Joe again was a lot of fun. I enjoyed going to the pin workshop with them. You know Mary Jo if you would get into this pin trading thing……..

I was just coming to blame this all on Keith. He knew about the meet, knows both of us and where was he? Stuffing his face! LOL.

OMG!!!! I am in complete shock!!!!

Haven't either of you seen pics of eachother???

I think someone(s) needs to submit photos to the DIS Family Album (I won't mention names, Tammy ;) ), AND I think you should both do a search on past DIS meets...I posted a couple pix of Tammy and Joe. :D :)

Goofster, were those ribs good? ;) :p

And teri, you're right about Boise having 'reasonable' fares from CA. Does this mean you would at least 'consider' the possibility??? Would love to have you. :) :D :) :D
