We are taking one of our best friends to WDW for her 40th birthday and will be leaving this Friday and staying thru Wednesday. I haven't been able to post questions earlier because it is a surprise trip and we just told her Friday night. She sometimes lurks on these boards and knows my user name and I didn't want to spoil the surprise. I walked through PO-FQ week before last and immediately fell in love but did not have time to look around much so any advice will be really appreciated.

I have always had pretty good luck when I fax in a room request as I usually travel in relatively light seasons. So give me some tips please.

It all depends on what you would like in your location. With PO-FQ, all the rooms are the same size regardless of location. If you choose to be near the pool or water-front, you have a longer walk to your car. If you choose a standard view, you may have a longer walk to the food-court/ pool. But, no matter what you choose, this particular property isn't that enormous so you will not have a huge distance to walk anyway!

I stayed there last weekend for the first time, I thought it was very nice. If you are planning on using busses or the food court, I would request a room near the main building. We were in building 7 and it was a little bit of a hike. There is only 1 bus stop for the entire resort and it's outside the main building.

Assuming you did not book a water-view room and being close to the bus stop and foodcourt is important to you then I would requst building four. It is also a non-smoking building.

I was there two years ago and am going to stay there again. They put us in building 2 which had a great view of the pool, but we didn’t know it was a smoking building. We requested a room change and ended up in building 1 with a good view of the Sassaguala River. It was a longer walk to the food court and buses, but very nice. If you booked a standard view room, I would stay in building 3 or 4. You may want to check the smoking preferences first though. Hope you have a great time! You will love this resort!

According to the resort map in the 2003 PassPorter both Buildings 3 and 4 are non-smoking. Hope this helps.
