We will be going on the 7-day magic cruise in October, and rather than rush home after the cruise on Saturday, we have decided to stay an extra day.
BWV is our home resort, but would love to stay at OKW. What do you think about staying in a studio at OKW for one night (Sat - Sun) for 21 points? Or should we just shop around for something off-site. We don't really know what we want to do that extra day, probably just relax before our flight home on Sunday. And since we would like to stay at OKW in the future this would be a good idea to check out the place. What do you all think. A good use of points?
Good idea or not?

If you have the points - why not. A nice relaxing day exploring OKW is a great idea. GO FOR IT!

We did a couple days at Vero Beach after our cruise last year. It was great!

How far is Vero Beach from Cape Canaveral?

If we decided to stay at OKW, does anyone want to suggest a certain building? I remember reading posts about a certain area being more accessible to the pool.
We have 2 kids and close proximity to the pool would probably be a good idea, right?

Ther are 4 pools with jacuzzis at OKW, all of them I'd consider quiet pools. (No slides or diving boards) When you make your ressie, rather than request a specific building, just ask to be close to a pool.
If you also want to be close to a sauna, there is only one, located near the main pool inside the lighthouse, so ask to be near the hospitality house.

I believe it's a little closer from Cape Canaveral to Vero than the Cape to WDW.

We did that! Our home is BWV, but in January after our cruise, we stayed two nights at OKW. It was just what we needed. It allowed us to relax in the quiet atmosphere of this great resort. We took in Cirque de Soleil and had a great time winding down from the cruise.
It is worth the points and we found it a great way to check out OKW.
Here is a link to our trip report from that cruise/OKW vacation:

Good luck deciding and have a great time!!! :)

OKW is a great place to unwind, but so is VB. If you are flying out of Orlando OKW would be much closer. It all depends on how much you to not do.
